About: Hi! I’m Nicole, and this is my partner Alex. We both work fully remote! We spent the last few years traveling abroad. We’ve landed in Lake Tahoe for the foreseeable future! We provide a safe, active, and loving environment for your pets while you’re away. Since we are both fully remote, your fur baby gets consistent attention, not just quick check-ins. Our days naturally include multiple walks (morning, mid-day, and evening), outdoor time, and plenty of downtime for cuddles and relaxation. We live an active lifestyle and love having a furry friends alongside us for walks, fresh air, and exploring, but we’re just as intentional about creating a calm, secure space at home so your pet feels comfortable and settled. We’ve cared for pets for over 10 years, including friends, family, Rover clients and other pet sitting platforms, in both our home and theirs. We’re very attentive and always know where your pet is, so you never have to worry about safety or supervision. Our goal is simple: when you’re away, your pet isn’t just being watched, they’re having their own little vacation. If you’re looking for reliable, communicative sitters who will treat your pet like their own, we’d love to help. Our daily step goal is 8-10k steps so walks are a breeze starting first thing in the morning and after every meal. Nicole loves to create a calm environment in the home and cozy up on the couch. Alex is very active and will go for hikes, longer walks, and loves play. We have stairs in our home that lead down to our bedroom as well as to get down to the front door. If your pup has mobility issues, they’ll need to be okay with being carried up and down
“Alena is fantastic! We were headed to Dry Tortugas Park in the Florida Keyes for the day and couldn't take our dog "JoJo" with us. The previous day she suggested a meet & greet (which I didn't even know was a "thing"). JoJo connected with her right away. And from the pictures she sent, JoJo is smiling and happy. I would definitely recommend her and would hire her again.”

“Tim did an incredible job taking care of my dog and cat! He truly is a dog whisperer. Dixie is shy and has never warmed up to anyone expect myself and close family but she loved Tim after just a few visits! Highly recommend him for all your pet walking and sitting. You won’t be disappointed!”

About: I'm taking a hiatus from full time work so I have plenty of time to devote to your dog(s). I love long walks, hikes, and trail runs, so happy to accommodate different activity levels. I don't have any pets right now, so yours will get my full attention. My gal Eli crossed the rainbow bridge this past spring and I'm not ready for another yet, but I miss doggo time. Experienced with senior care, mobility challenged dogs, and administering medication. I currently work very part time (Friday and Saturday afternoons, occasional other days), so I have plenty of time to devote to your pet. I miss daily walks! I have a fenced in back yard. Both front and back entrances have 4-5 stairs to the door, can carry dogs up to 65 lbs or assist. There aren't any other pets in the house so yours will have it all as a staycation. Quiet neighborhood for walks, and close driving distance to trails for hikes if desired.
About: Hello! I’ve been regularly looking after dogs and cats for about 5 years, and I’ve had parrots most of my life, so I’m comfortable with birds too. I have a deep respect for the place I stay at - maintain necessary privacy and keep the house clean and tidy during my stay (check Airbnb reviews in the last photos). I work on creative projects from home - writing a book and doing online consulting and life coaching. I’m around plenty to keep your pet a company, play, engage, and follow your pet’s schedule. A note on overnight stays: I do require a separate bedroom to recharge. This is important for me to show up fully for your pet and maintain my energy and focus for my work the next day. If your pet used to sleep with a human and struggles with overnight separation, I may not be the best fit. I appreciate your understanding! Looking forward to meeting you and your furry friend 🙏🏻 I am an energy therapist and provide sessions online. I make my own schedule. Looking after a pet is an additional source of income for me, so I treat it equally as a job and make a proper time in my schedule to accommodate your pet’s needs. I only provide a service of looking after your pet at your property and do not take pets to my home. I will do so only in a case of an emergency.

About: I really enjoy spending time playing with animals and it helps me connect with them fast. Even the puppies, more energetic or a little naughty pets are no trouble for me, I stay patient and handle them with ease. So my work schedule is a part-time so I have planty of free time to take care of dogs and cats, which I absolutely love! I take care of dogs in their natural environment, their home, where they feel most comfortable and at ease while their owners are away :)
“Sandra did a great job with Charlie and cousin JoJo. She took them on a great walk. I worry about Charlie being home alone for so long so I'm very pleased that they get to get outside and get some exercise!”

About: I have experience with a broad range of dogs from miniature aussies to pit bulls and Great Danes. I’m happy to take your dogs on longer hikes and adjust care to their energy levels and needs. I also have experience caring for reptiles, felines, goats, and chickens. I’m currently working part time locally in South Lake Tahoe while attending school online, and I have a flexible schedule for dog walking and pet care! I will discuss care expectations prior to pet sitting / dog walking to make sure I understand the animal’s behavior on leash or with other dogs. Typically in home care involves feeding, light cleaning, spending time with animal in the yard (if available) and dog walking.
About: I’ve grown up taking care of many different animals from baby deer to chickens. I’ve had many different breeds of dogs from an Akita to Great Pyrenees. Currently I have a male cat. I’m pretty flexible in my schedule and can visit during the week( I do have a child I have to pick up in the afternoon.) I can walk and play with dog or cat. As well as check the food & water. I’m pretty flexible with whatever may be needed for care.
“Kristen is delightful! We booked her to walk our dog Indy while we were away for a wedding. She came the night before to meet us and greet the dog, and sent us a great update on their walk. We will definitely use her again!”

About: Lifelong animal lover! Rescue cat mom to two lovely kitties(11 year old & 1 year old kitten). Long-time rover user excited to help take care of your loved ones🐾 Work from home in South Lake! I would love to take care of your fur babies with feedings, long walks, checkin visits, cat sitting, etc. :) I’ve been a long time rover user for my two cats and would love to pay it back and help take care of the local South Lake animals!
About: I'm looking forward to my sixth year professionally watching pups while mom and dad get some turns in on the hill. Our pets are family, and I look after all fur babies the way I'd like mine to be cared for. Playing in the park, hiking, and cuddling on the couch are our typical days. Parents will be kept up to date with photos. I'd like to think I've gotten my pet portrait skills down. Treats have greatly assisted me in the process ;) I am flexible, and will work with you to fit your unique scheduling needs. If you are arriving at 3am from a long drive and need to drop the pups off then, no problem. Too tired after the hill? We can arrange a drop off. Prices are negotiable for additional pups and services. I work part time near to my place. I'm rarely gone more than five hours. I come home on my breaks to let everyone out to potty. If I have an excursion, I take everyone with me. I have a secure screen door that remains locked at all times when we are inside. Guests pups are on the leash any time we go outside.
About: I live in a private home with a large, fully fenced-in yard off of Ski Run Blvd with 4 female rescues. I have had and cared for dogs (large and small) as well as cats for 13 years and am loving, patient, and responsible. I love to get outside for runs down to the beach or to go hiking in the area, and try to bring at least one dog with me on every adventure. I have raised both puppies and cared for elderly dogs, including my own Golden Retriever Stewie who sadly passed away two years ago at the age of 12. I look forward to meeting and caring for your furry family members as well as I do my own! My schedule varies, but I keep it up to date in the app and can be flexible if anything comes up or if needs change. I have a fully fenced in, private backyard off of a quiet street that is perfect for lots of running around with my 3 dogs, who are incredibly friendly and get along with dogs of all ages and sizes (and are great at tiring out puppies!). My dogs are crate trained and usually are in their crates at night and when I am away for more than a couple hours, and I would be happy to do the same or whatever is preferred for yours.
About: I’ve had my dog for the last four years and understand the stress of leaving your animal with someone else, I can assure you that I will take very good care of your pet and that they will return happy and well played with! I’m currently working part time and have time to care for your pup! My home has a doggy door and a large yard as well. I’m an extremely active person so I can promise you that your pet will get daily walks, hikes, runs, or bike rides— depending on your pets exercise needs.
“Super experienced and it shows! Seems to be a definite pet lover at heart. I loved getting to see the pictures of Aurora’s adventures during her walks. Overall I would 100% recommend Alena to anyone!”

“My mom said that my dog, Aru, wiggle butts so hard when Jeff comes to walk him that it looks like he'll snap in half. I would highly recommend and will continue to book with him.”

About: Hi! Thanks for stopping by my Rover profile. I’ve spent the past few years caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality and needs. I’m based in South Lake Tahoe and currently offer services that come to you, as I’m not able to host dogs in my home at the moment. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out—happy to chat! Looking forward to meeting you and your pup! I'm currently self employed and work my own hours so I'm typically available if your dog needs a walking or watching. I'm especially interested in overnight boarding for well behaved, house trained dogs. Younger or more challenging pups, I’d be happy to walk or watch outside of my house. I have a large fenced backyard centrally located in South Lake Tahoe. I have a small 8 year old Aussie Sheppard who gets along very well with others, especially small dogs.

Matt is amazing. I have two dogs, and one can be a bit apprehensive of new people. He warmed up to Matt instantly. Matt instinctively knew to sit down and let my dog come to him when my dog was anxiously barking. My dog immediately stopped barking and went to Matt where he received love, affection, and confirmation that Matt was a safe person. They had a great walk. We'll explore using Matt for house sitting in the future as schedules permit.

Ashley is amazing! When I first started using her services, she was willing to join me for a meet and greet walk and seemed genuinely interested in our walking routine. She’s picked up and walked my two kids a few times now and they just love her and are very comfortable with her. Ashley is great with details and she writes the best walking stories!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
