“Tim did an incredible job taking care of my dog and cat! He truly is a dog whisperer. Dixie is shy and has never warmed up to anyone expect myself and close family but she loved Tim after just a few visits! Highly recommend him for all your pet walking and sitting. You won’t be disappointed!”

About: I have been obsessed with dogs since I can remember. I read books and watched all the dog shows I could while begging for one for myself. I have learned to never fear a breed, but to respect the differences in what they require. Every dog is different and wonderfully unique. I have been with puppies through to seniors. I understand how important medical needs are and how important being timely with medication is. Mental stimulation is extremely important, so I am super happy to let them sniff their hearts out on walks instead of rush them back home. I also understand that reading dog body language and signals is key to a happy dog. My Bonnie is leash reactive but we still have incredible walks daily and the occasional fun dog encounter under the right conditions. Big or small, every dog deserves to feel like the light of your life. My only job currently is taking care of my wonderful senior dog Bonnie. I am open all day, night, and week for dog walks or drop in visits. I only allow dogs to meet if all involved is okay with it, most importantly the dogs. I always keep dogs on leash and carry pepper spray on me in case of unwanted wildlife encounters- we have some mean racoons in my neighborhood. I will follow all rules given to a T. A dogs safety and health are extremely important to me.

About: Dogs are better than humans and the more we aspire to be like them the better the world gets. I love dogs and have always been an active member of my local humane society and have volunteered with non profits in several 3rd world countries for animal welfare. I am active and move around often so have not been able to have my own fur baby yet so I would be so grateful and honoured to be the best ‘ fun aunt’ to yours. I enjoy time outside as much as a dog does so I’ll be able to return your pup well exercised and ready to relax after a good hike and some fresh air and belly rubs. I work in restaurants so am free every day until 3 and finish around 10pm. I would be able to take your dog out for regular runs or walks as well as house sitting in the safety and comfort of their own home. I live in a studio apartment with great access to trails and an unfenced yard. Dog sitting at my house would be totally possible for the right dog that would be comfortable with a smaller space.

“So I’ll preface to say I never met Jeremy, his wife was the one that did all the walks but she was super kind and my dog loved her. Can highly recommend.”

About: Hello! I am a young professional in South Lake Tahoe who is searching for some extra work by dog sitting/walking and house sitting! After living in New Zealand for 7 years, I am back on Rover and excited to help look after your pets! I grew up training guide dogs for 4 years, so I have multiple years of experience working and training dogs, specifically helping dogs become well behaved (on and off leash), socialised, and obedient. I also grew up with 6 cats so I am very comfortable with animals. Additionally, I have house sat and dog walked for multiple friends and couldn't ask for a better gig. I am very active and love to go hiking/walking/running or just playing in the park with dogs. I am in a job transition so I have an open schedule, as well as a car for transportation. I look forward to meeting you and your pet and helping out in any way that I can! I’m currently working part-time, so I have plenty of time to look after your pets. My schedule changes each week, so just let me know when you need me and I can work around your schedule. I am more than happy to look after your pets in your home. I am dependable, organized, and responsible. I’ll make sure that your pet is well looked after with lots of love.

“Romina was awesome! Very easy to communicate with and did great walking and playing in the snow with my dog!”

“Toni worked hard with my difficult boy. Very caring and attentive.”

About: I have been caring for dogs for over 40 years. I will spend all of my time with your dog, hiking, swimming, playing in the snow and cuddling. Your dog will be my only priority. I am available to take care of all of your dogs with each scheduled visit. I will always ask if it is ok to also care for another dog along with yours. I am interested in boarding your dog/ dogs while you enjoy Lake Tahoe. I will be able to spend all of my time with your dog. I will provide a safe and clean environment for your dog. When we hike, swim, play in the snow, they will be on a leash. I will always be very careful with your dog.

About: I have had pets since I was little and have always loved animals. I have even helped care for an old roommate's bird for 5 years! I work full time as a server, but the earliest I ever have to go in is 930a and the latest I've gotten out is 11p. However, with an influx of students coming to our restaurant, my schedule has mellowed quite a bit and we're not being scheduled on those brutal doubles as much! I love going out for hikes and to the lake. I'd be happy to bring your furry buddy with me on those adventures! I'm also happy to relax and keep your canine OR feline friend company at your house too if they are more interested in relaxing!

About: My fiance and I have a Bulldog Lab mix with epilepsy named Asparagus. Seizures with a 90+ dog are difficult, but I do what I need to to make sure he is comfortable and not a danger to himself. My life long friend, Dodger, passed away at 15 this last year. She passed in my arms, after about a year of doing everything we possibly could to keep her comfortable, including administering ointments and frequent diaper changes. I love animals more than I love people and have been caring for all sorts since I was very young. I also have experience with cats, chinchillas, and an assortment of reptiles, rodents, and amphibians. My schedule is very flexible, which is great because I can make room for all the lovely animals out there! I am a bartender around town, but this never takes up full days. I am attentive and caring. I am also very observant and great at reading situations, whether that be with the environment or other animals or needs more specific to your pet.

About: Growing up , I always loved caring for friends/families pets. In 2017 , my life changed when I got my first dog of my own, Sky the mini Aussie. Sky inspired me to start my own business , Mindful Pets, that I successfully operated from 2019-2024. I offered a range of services, from private walks , pack adventures, and in home pet sitting. In the 5 years of running my own pet care business, I loved weaving in my mindfulness practices, and invested in continued pet care education ; certified professional pet sitter with PSI , Pack Leader Blueprint , and Pet CPR / First Aid certified. You can rely on consistency in the care that I provide your pets , always ensuring their safety , well being, and having fun exploring new hiking trails or snuggling on the couch. Book your visit with me and guarantee a peace of mind your pets will be cared for by a professional. My schedule is completely open for pet care, depending on your pets needs / schedule , will determine the level of care I offer. I love taking pups out for fun adventures or caring for your feline pets in the comfort of their home. To minimize your pets stress , you can expect me to stay in your home. This helps keep your pets on their normal routine and environment and ensure they're happy and comfortable while the family is away.

“Super experienced and it shows! Seems to be a definite pet lover at heart. I loved getting to see the pictures of Aurora’s adventures during her walks. Overall I would 100% recommend Alena to anyone!”

About: I’ve been taking care of pets ever since I was in high school. Mostly older pets and even senior care such as giving oral medication. I am currently a senior in college as a full-time student and I would like to work with pets as apart of my work-life balance. As I don’t offer in my home care, I am willing to commute to yours to take care of, walk, or any other service needed for you pet

“Susanna did a great job walking our two rather energetic girls. She was responsive and informative - letting us know how the walks went and documenting their behaviour and how many poos and pees were accomplished. I would definitely recommend.”

“Lisa is very professional and trustworthy! Falkor loved his walk. I would highly recommend her to care for your fur baby. Looking forward to using her again in the future.”

“Angelique was awesome. She took very good care of our senior dogs and checked in whenever there was a question. We would definitely recommend her to any pet owners out there.”

About: Hi! I have lived with, and owned, many animals throughout my life. I also spent 5 years as a Veterinary assistant and learned many valuable tools to take care of our beloved pets, and I am comfortable administering medications if needed. We have a fenced back yard and 2 indoor/outdoor cats who are very used to dogs! I understand that our pets are our family! I take great pride in treating your pet as my own, and will continuously work with you to ensure everyone is comfortable with our arrangements. We will go for walks, share photos with you, have comfortable sleeping arrangements and so forth. My son, 8, and daughter, 5, loves all animals! We always make sure that they understand that animals might not always love them, so space is always given! We look forward to caring for your pet! I currently work from home and am available mid-morning to early evening for walks and in-home check ins. I am also currently available on weekends! I have a fenced back yard and 2 friendly cats, and both my partner and myself work from home so there will be minimal time for your pet to be alone!

About: I had a dog for 11 years and my cat is 18 years old currently! I have had pets my entire life and am very comfortable being with and taking care of animals. I also grew up in Tahoe, so I know all the good areas for dog walking :) I am currently on summer vacation so I have plenty of time on weekdays and weekends to take care of pets, either cat or dog! I have a cat at home who is very shy and finicky, but she did live with my dog for over a decade. I have a fenced in backyard and access to a meadow with dog walking trails.

About: After growing up with pets my entire life and helping to care for them, I became a full-time pet sitter in April 2024. I moved away from Tahoe and spent 16 months traveling across the country, completing 27 cat & dog sitting stays in 14 different states. After an amazing time on the road, I’m returning back to South Lake and am excited to continue offering in-house care, as well as drop-in visits and walks! I have additional 5-star reviews on Trusted Housesitters (the platform I’ve used for the past year) and would be happy to provide those to you as well upon request! Thanks so much for your consideration and trust :) I'm self-employed, meaning I'm in complete control of my schedule and have a lot of flexibility! I'm able to dedicate as much or as little time required, depending on your unique situation and the pet's needs. As a guest in your home, I promise to treat it as if it were my own, and always leave it clean and secure. I know that it can take time to build trust with animals, and will take their personality and routine into account when caring for them. I ask a lot of questions from pet owners up front because I want to make sure I have all of the information necessary for a positive experience!

Ashley M.
“Ashley was amazing with my 3 cats! She sat for them for a weekend while I was on vacation. Not only did she stop by to check in and feed my cats at their designated feeding times, but she stayed around long enough to keep them good company, clean up after them, and play with them. She even sent me a bunch of pictures and videos of them whenever she came by. I could tell she really cared about my cats and enjoyed spending time with them. I didn't have any worries leaving them in her care and when I need another pet sitter for my cats (or any other animals I ever have) I would definitely go to her first!”

Kayla M.
“Kayla is great with dogs. She’s also very outdoorsy and active and can give the 4 legged mammals a good run for their money. Our dog Keanu loves Kayla. To the point he recognizes her car and goes crazy when she arrives to pick him up. Once while out on a walk he saw a car similar to hers and he went crazy thinking it was her. We definitely trust Kayla and she’s SO worth it. I would 10/10 recommend.”

Laura T.
“I have raised my daughter to not only love animals, but to respect them. Since moving to California, she is taking on three cats and have given them the best home ever she not only loves animals, but she cares about their well-being and long-term well-being. She bases her lifestyle around her animals so they are not left alone for any length of time as you know, we all have to work, but she goes straight home to care for these cats And to make sure that they are happy and healthy. If there’s anything else you would like to know, please email me and I will glad to give you more information.”

Jason B.
“Jason is 100% an animal person. I trust him with my pets over any other pet professional. He is kind and respectful and my dogs love him so much. They are always so happy to see him and instantly give his kisses and snuggles. It warms my heart.”

Gina F.
“Gina is the best! She’s been a sitter for many years and is great with both dogs and cats. I am a Star Sitter on the Rover app myself so have a high bar for who I will trust with my own pets, and Gina is my go to sitter. She’s extremely responsible and communicative and will take care of your pets as if they are her own!”

“Megan has done a fantastic job walking our dog Paulo. A few times it was short notice, as well, as I lived close. She loves dogs and animals in general. You can really see this when meeting her and also the way her dog is (such good manners). I feel pretty picky as to who I let in my house and also who socializes with my dog. She's taken very good care of him and I don't have to worry that he will the exercise and attention he needs. I recommend her and will be calling her again.”

Giovana D.
“Giovana has had pets her entire life! She’s cared for our 18+ year old cat including administering her medications, feedings and cleaning her cat box. She provided our French Bulldog with daily walks, feedings, cleaning up backyard poop and giving lots of love. She has her own leopard gecko who is currently 7 years old, and has taken care of guinea pigs and fish as well. She loves animals of every sort!”

Danielle G.
“Danielle was such a blessing! She was so communicative, timely, kept us updated during the week and is the sweetest person! She took such wonderful care of our cat Copper and the house was spotless when we got home. We would definitely have her back again!”
