“Audrey did a wonderful job watching our giant Alaskan malamute and cat. She walked him everyday, and kept us updated daily with photos. I didn’t have to worry about a thing and we would book her again.”

“Jennifer took such wonderful care of our home and our pets. She sent fun updates and photos each day, and we came home to happy pets. We’ll definitely ask Jennifer to watch our fur babies again!”

“Honestly Nick and Nazzy the best sitters we have had on Rover—would recommend super highly to anyone who wants to leave their pet pals in good hands! We have an anxious dog and an asthmatic cat, so not the easiest pets, but Nick and Nazzy always take such good care of them. They send tons of pics and videos and kept us up to date on all the happenings! Super kind and considerate folks who go above and beyond in their care of the pets and the home!!”
“Rachel is great! We were so relaxed on our vacation knowing that our dog was getting good care and lots of affection! Our house was so clean when we returned too! We will definitely book here again!!”

“Jocelyn was an incredible house sitter when she stayed and watched our cat, Freyja during our vacation! Our usual house sitter had to cancel on us around 2/3ish weeks before our trip and so we reached out to Jocelyn to see if she was available. She was so sweet and set up our meet and greet promptly! During the stay, Jocelyn was an excellent communicator and shared regular updates and photos with us, which made us feel so comfortable with her watching our girl, Freyja. Additionally, Jocelyn left the apartment nice and tidy, which was so great to come home to. Overall, we were so happy with Jocelyn watching our cat child!”

“Monique truly went above and beyond expectations! Our dog Penny is very leary of new people, and Monique persevered and totally won her over. Penny was very happy and well cared for, plus we came home to a clean house. I would unequivocally recommend Monique, and she will be first on our list next time we need a doggie sitter. Thank you Monique!”

“Everything was great and my dog well cared for! Thank you Amanda for all the pictures, and daily updates. Tahlia was lucky to have you take care of her while we were gone.”

“Carla was quick to respond and took great care of my dog when my other sitter backed out at the last minute. She sent pictures and updates and I could not have been happier with the service she provided.”

“Danielle did an amazing job house-sitting and taking care of our kitten, Kingston, over the past few days. She spent a lot of time interacting and playing with him, which we really appreciated. Kingston can be quite the little biter, and she even went out of her way to buy him a new chew toy to help with that. She was punctual, communicative, and left our home clean and well cared for. It was clear that she genuinely enjoys spending time with animals and treats them with care and attention. We would absolutely recommend Danielle to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful sitter, and we would gladly book her again in the future!”
“Melissa was great to work with. She made me feel very comfortable and she took great care of my puppy. She was very attentive to my specifications for my pup. She messaged with timely & detailed updates which helped ease my new dog mom nerves. Thanks Melissa!”

“Tierra was awesome! She took great care of our Raven! She had to administer 3 different medications, kept in contact, and sent pictures! Raven loves Tierra!”
“Ryan took excellent care of our dogs and our home. He kept in touch with regular videos and photos, maintained their routine, checked in when he had a question, and left our home spotless. I know that our girls were loved and cared for, letting us having a care-free time away from home. We will definitely be booking with Ryan in the future, and highly recommend if you have high maintenance dogs!”

About: I've owned cats most of my life and taken care of family members’, friends’, and neighbors’ dogs and cats for years. My first kitty living on my own had severe health issues and anxiety, requiring extensive treatment and TLC. I know how difficult it can be being away from our furry family members knowing they need us and want to help ease some of that worry. I have experience administering medications, caring for anxious animals, and feeding special diets. I'm also happy to send plenty of pictures and updates. :) I work part time as a caregiver; it’s flexible, and the rest of my days are free for drop-in visits! I am also available to stay the night for house sitting. Every pet has their own personality and unique needs, and I think owners know their pets best. I am happy to follow whatever instructions you may have.
“Shenna was wonderful with our dogs and brought real peace of mind while we were away. She asked thoughtful questions, showed genuine affection for the animals, and carried a calm “I got this” confidence from start to finish. We came home to happy pets and a clean, well-cared-for home. Her reliability and care truly stood out, and we’d definitely book with her again.”

“Julie was an absolute gem! Our girl calmed right down and enjoyed her new friend. Julie sent us photos showing Rosie nice and relaxed at hom, as well as playing ball. She even washed the sheets and emptied the dishwasher! We will definitely ask Julie to stay again.”

“Alex was so good with our two goldens and kitty while we were out of town! She even got up every day to walk them in the early morning since it was a 100 degree weekend. Very good communication and kept us updated throughout the weekend. Above & beyond!”

About: I have a deep passion for CARE. I love providing things for people and recently have discovered even animals! Not only do I care for them but I also realize they give me joy! So its a mutual type of caring :) I do music for my job at the university but I figured it would be good to also get some other income but through pet sitting! I prefer to care for dogs! Small and medium dogs as I am small and medium ahha! To talk with the animals and give attention and be playful is so key! You treat them as if they were your child too! They have feelings and a heart too!
The median cost per night for house sitting in Spokane is $50
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Spokane
Audrey was amazing with my dogs! One of my dogs was pregnant when she watched them so was being weird about eating her food so she worked through with me giving her different things to get her eating again. She also sent me plenty of pictures and updates while I was gone. I would absolutely use her again!

David was so kind and took great care of our two dogs. We have a senior dog and an energetic dog. He kept us informed and even made sure they didn’t go outside too much when the air quality was hazardous. He cleaned the bathroom he used and our house was spotless. Our girls were happy and taken care of. We will definitely book with David again!

Jhonas was patient in meeting our pups especially the shy pup. He took the time during a meet and greet to make sure the pups and owners (us) were comfortable. He left the house as clean and organized as when we left and sent updates daily. Thanks Jhonas, it made us feel comfortable leaving our babies for a full week.

I can't say enough how much I appreciate and love Ashten & Shelby! They did amazing with my pup as always and even earned some kitty cuddles which is very rare for my cats when they're around strangers. as an employee of Rover, this is the experience i hope for all Rover users

Allison (Rae) took incredible care of both my dog and my sister’s pup over the Fourth of July weekend! She walked and played with them a lot and made them both comfortable despite their separation anxieties. She left the house spotless and even ran a load of dishes! I would definitely have her house and dogsit for me again!

Melissa was great! She stayed at our house for a week, taking care of our two quirky medium-sized dogs, plus chickens and fish too. It was clear she cared about our pets and paid attention to details. She sent updates regularly and went above and beyond to keep everyone safe when she spotted a porcupine nearby. We felt really comfortable with her and would absolutely use her again. Thank you, Melissa.

Caitlyn is absolutely amazing!! She has been working for months with my fear based reactive dog on building a relationship together through weekly trainings. Caitlyn is patient, trained in dog behavior and training tactics, very reliable, and willing to do anything to build trust with dogs. Now a days my dog Roxy and Caitlyn go on walks by themselves (huge victory for Roxy with anyone that is not her parents), my husband and I was able to take a vacation a full airplane ride away (first time we both got to go on a vacation together in three years since getting Roxy), and Roxy has gotten so much better with strangers in general due to her relationship with Caitlyn. I have recommended Caitlyn to my family and friends (she took care of my moms cats as well while taking care of Roxy since we all went on the same vacation) because she is trustworthy, reliable, great communicator, great trainer, kind human, and a hard worker. I can’t say enough about how awesome Caitlyn is!!

Lisa was wonderful with our pets and home while we were away! This was the first time we left our one year old mastiff and we wanted to make sure she didn’t pester our older dog too much. She did a great job of giving them a fun week while making sure both dogs got along. She left our house super clean and was very easy to work with. If you’re looking for someone you can trust, I highly recommend booking with her!

Nazzy has been a blessing for my kitty family. She always sends pictures and information about how my kitties are doing while I'm gone. She asks appropriate questions about their care and is kind and loving. I have always felt my kitties to be safe in her care. She helped me out with a last minute booking this Spring. I will continue to ask her to stay with my kitties. Thank you Nazzy.
Jacque was prompt, professional and most of all personable. Our dogs took to her right off the bat! We asked her to check in and she sent great pictures which we appreciated as it showed us how comfortable they were with her. We strongly recommend her and will definitely use her again when we are in town. Thank you, Jackquelyn!!!

Molly was prompt in responding to our last minute need, easy to work with, and communicated well w/each visit to check on our critters while we were away. She was open to checking in on our conventional pet (a cat) but also our non-conventional pets (baby chicks). Grateful for her services.

This was the first time we used Rover for housesitting and Tessa was so wonderful with our two pups while we were away for the week. Our puppy can be a bit of a handful and Tessa was proactive, communicative and went the extra mile to try different things to help deter his bad behaviors while we were gone. She left our house clean and even refilled our stash of frozen Toppls so that we were good to go with puppy enrichment treats when we got home. Leaving our fur babies is always stressful but Tessa definitely made it a lot easier!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Spokane on Rover is $52.17 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 758 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Spokane. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Spokane walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Spokane maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Spokane choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Spokane. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
