“Lynda was wonderful looking after Nellie! We received pictures and comments about Nellie during our trip so we could see she was having a nice time while we gone! Lynda is a great dogsitter and Nellie did well in a home vs boarding kennel setting. She missed us but enjoyed playing with other dogs!”

About: I have been a dog owner for over 25 years. I have taken my dogs to obedience school when they were pups. My dogs are gentle and get along with other dogs. I do work day shift and preparing to retire. I would love to care for your dog in my home when you have a get away planned. I have a fenced back yard. One third of the yard is made into a dog kennel. There is access to the garage to get out of the weather. They have almost 1/8 to 1/4th of my garage. I would love for your fur baby to come stay at my home.
“Will watched both my cat and dog at his house while I was out of town for a couple of days. It seems like both the dogs and the cats got along well! I really appreciated the picture updates and Will’s communication & flexibility. Thank you Will!”

“Elizabeth is an amazing dog sitter and I consistently book her for my Rita. Super communicative, accommodating, and easy to work with. Plus her pup is fantastic with other dogs. Highly recommend!”

“I reached out less than 24 hours before I needed someone to watch my pups, and Jack was more than willing to take on all three of my Great Pyrenees! Great communication and my dogs took to him immediately. When I picked them up, they had clearly had a great time and were tuckered out! Jack even sent me some pictures of their time with him. Highly, highly recommend!!”

“Jamie always takes great care of our Cavalier. I like that he can be part of the little dog pack while he’s there. Jamie also asks about vaccines and temperament which shows she’s dedicated to creating a safe, healthy environment.”

About: For the past 15+ years, I have lived with and loved a variety of dogs. From a yellow lab to a standard poodle to a terrier and a shitzu, I truly have experience with dogs of all sizes and breeds. I recognize that each dog has different needs that are dependent on their personality, age, health, and environment. Whether it’s snuggling on the couch, playing lots of fetch, going on a walk, or welcoming your furry friend into our home, I can assure you your dog will be treated with the utmost love and care. I am currently a full-time grad student in speech-language pathology. My full time job is wedding and portrait photography, but with summer season coming to a close, I’m looking to fill my time with extra work! I am unavailable on Tuesday and Thursday, but I work from home and do homework the rest of the week, which makes it easy swing by for drop in visits or have a dog join us for the day. My husband is a full time nursing student with a busy schedule, but he’ll be able to help out when he’s home! All pets are treated like they’re our own. This means lots of love, cuddles, and playtime. We have a fenced backyard that dogs can play in, and we supervise them when they’re outside to ensure they’re getting the best care.

“Milo had a great time and was taken care of exactly as his medical needs required. We appreciate the flexibility with his pickup and will certainly return if we need boarding again.”

“This was the first time I’ve left Phoebe with someone new. Hannah sent pictures and updates each day, which helped me relax to see that she was doing fine. I highly recommend Hannah to anyone looking for a compassionate sitter for their babies.”

“Anita watched my Sparky boy for close to three weeks while I was out of the country. I greatly appreciated her watching my dog for that length of time and agreeing to do it about six months in advance. She kept me posted regularly on how my dog was doing including sending me pictures of Sparky. I highly recommend Anita if you need a kind, friendly and reliable dog sitter for your dog.”

“Wonderful experience for our two dogs. We loved the communication from Greg. We know the dogs were having a blast. Probably didn’t miss us. Thanks Greg and Woofy!”

About: I’ve taken care of a handful of animals and truly, animals are so drawn to me. I love animals, they are so pure to me! I have a schedule just as much as everyone does, I fit babies into my schedule to ensure they are being well taken care of, etc. I have a perch for my cat and make sure she is being taken care of, I give her lots of love and I love other animals just as much as I love my own.
“Samantha took care of Trapper like he was one of her own! Trapper was very well cared for, given lots of attention and love, and was very happy to stay with her. She kept us informed, sent pictures and videos of him, and was absolutely fantastic! I will definitely use her in the future!”

“Nazzy was absolutely incredible watching our home and our two dogs! We have a 5-year-old and a 6-month-old puppy (who, thankfully, is pretty low-maintenance for a puppy), and she handled both of them with ease and care. Her communication was outstanding from start to finish. She sent daily updates and pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind, and she was always available via text whenever we wanted to check in. It made such a difference knowing we could reach her at any time. Not only did our dogs clearly love her, but she also left our house even better than when we left it. That level of care and attention really stood out. It was also incredibly reassuring to know how competent she is—just in the off chance that something did come up, we felt completely confident that she would handle it calmly and responsibly. The best part was being able to fully relax on vacation without any nagging worries. Nazzy is trustworthy, responsible, and truly goes above and beyond. We would absolutely have her back again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable and caring!”
“Daisy had the best time with Michelle and her family. I got lots of updates and pictures, which put my mind ant ease, and I could tell Daisy settled right in and became part of their family. Daisy is an only dog who isn’t much for playing with other dogs and she got along just fine with Michelle’s dog. She made herself right at home. I 100% will be using Michelle again next time we need someone to watch Daisy. Thank you Michelle and family! 💜”

“Andy and Jerry are great and treat my dog like part of their family. They send lots of updates and pictures which puts my mind at ease while away from my dog.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Spokane
This was our first time leaving Bogey with a sitter in Spokane after moving cross-country, so there were some nerves going in. Meredith and Chandler completely put us at ease. Bogey had quite severe stomach issues over the weekend, and they handled it with so much care and calm - keeping us updated without making us feel like we needed to cut our trip short. Illness aside, he was totally settled in and had the best time with their dog, Brinkley. We came home to a happy, relaxed pup, which is all you can ask for! Will definitely bring Bogey back next time we’re away.

Jane and Peter have watched my high-energy border collie/Australian Cattle Dog mix twice now and I’m very pleased with the service they offer. They communicate well and often check-in with updates and my dog LOVES them. I recommend them to anyone needing a sitter for their animals.
The moment I met Ashley I knew that I wanted Chaucer to stay with her family--and I was right. She and Caleb run a clean, loving home. I appreciated the daily picture and updates. It was obvious that Chaucer was well cared for. I absolutely will turn to Ashley and Caleb the next time Chaucer needs a foster family.

Lance was very accommodating with my schedule and very patient with my nervous dogs when they were dropped off. He has thought through all the details to make the dogs he watches comfortable. And he sits for multiple dogs at the same time. My dogs loved having other dogs to play with and came home exhausted.

We felt really pleased leaving our dog Mitzi with the Solberg family. They gave us regular feedback about how Mitzi was doing, and when we picked her up, she was not nervous or desperate to leave as she often is with other places we have boarded Mitzi. We highly recommend them as caring for your pet.

Couldn’t have asked for a better person to leave my dog with. I got daily updates and videos/pictures and my dog was very happy. She can get a bit anxious in new situations or with new people but she was right at home from day 1 with Louise. She will definitely be a repeat customer❤️

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
