“We are repeat customers with Leslie and have been so happy with our experience every time. She takes our dog to the dog park most mornings and she sends pictures and updates.”

“Jennifer & David are great, they asked for our preferences in the initial meet and greet and followed through them those. We knew our pup was in great hands and will book again in the future”

“Chantel was wonderful with our ~3 yrs Cockapoo. He can be quite rambunctious but she took him for walks in the beautiful park just across the street. This was our dog's first time being overnight away from home and he did great!! Highly recommended!”

“Lance took great care of Coco! She can be nervous around men but took to him right away. He was quick to respond to communication and sent us updates. We’ll definitely book with Lance again.”

“Cheryl took amazing care of our two greyhounds when we had to leave town on short notice for a funeral. She sent us pictures and videos of them interacting with the other dogs as well as her two adorable grandkids. Seeing our boys comfortable and being loved made our trip so much easier. Thank you, Cheryl!”

“Our dog couldn’t have had a better time with Abigail and her family! We received constant updates, and they even worked in our dogs commands/ walking on a leash. We felt so comfortable having Ozzie stay there - We don’t think he wanted to come home! Great big yard for playing and their dog is a sweetheart. Couldn’t recommend Abigail enough!”

“Such a wonderful experience!! Patricia is so kind and professional. She sent pictures and updates daily which was very comforting. We will definitely be using her again in the future!!”

“Ace had an amazing time as always! We received TONS of pictures and videos during his stay. Sophia is incredible at keeping us updated and always makes sure he has more than enough attention and play time! ◡̈”

“Taylor and David were beyond wonderful. They made my dog feel so comfortable and took such great care of him! They sent daily updates and pictures which I appreciate so much and truly put my mind at ease while I was away!”

“Irene was a SUPERB host for my Rita and will absolutely be re-booking in the future! Facilitated a smooth meet and greet, welcomed Rita in, and was in clear and consistent communication.”

“Jessica was very responsible, responsive and kind! She took care of our dog last minute. She responded quickly, and remained in communication the whole time. Our dog’s harness broke and she went out to buy her a new one! We really appreciated her help in taking care of our dog for us!”

“Great dog sitter, and has good availability. Took on our dog last minute. He sent pictures of our baby and communicated with us when our flights were delayed. Very great at taking care of our dog with various medicine protocols at feeding times.”

“Aimee was absolutely wonderful with our pup! She sent daily photo updates, took her on walks, and treated her like a member of their family for the two weeks she had her. Our dog has some health conditions and needs regular medications and she was completely willing to take care of whatever our pup needed. We will definitely be calling Aimee again for our next trip!”

“Kate is amazing! We live on total opposite sides of our city but I will always make the drive because I know Otto is being loved and well cared for. This last visit started out being just a few days because we were going to have work on our house done and didn’t want all the people coming in & out all day to stress him out or for him to be in their way but but each day presented an additional problem in our house it ended up being a week and Kate was extremely flexible and understanding when we would ask each day for “1 more day”.”

“I’m so thankful for Zachary and his wife! Our Luna has been a bit depressed since her stroke a few years ago but after coming home from doggy daycare with them she way spunky, happy, and is even spending more time outside with a smile whereas it was difficult to get her to enjoy much time outside before as she would want to go back into the house or wouldn’t leave the back porch much. I’m so happy to see her rolling in the dirt and playing now. This means the world!!! She requires a lot of care and they did an excellent job even wrapping her foot really well and keeping it protected. We will definitely be going back and I look forward to her having another fun visit in the future. Thank you both so much and we will see you soon!”

“Kathryn was an absolute joy to work with. My dogs loved her and had an absolute blast staying with her! She was very communicative and checked in each day to let me know how they were doing.”

Emily is absolutely amazing! We were evacuated for 8 days during our dog's stay with Emily and it was so comforting to know that Zeus would be loved and cared for until we could go home. He had a big smile in every picture she sent us so we think he just thought he was on an amazing vacation. We will definitely be using Emily again ... and again.

Jennifer and David were great with our senior dog (15+) who is slowing down. They sent us frequent updates during his stay, including pictures and videos, which was very reassuring. When we picked him up after his 4-day stay, he was a very happy little guy and seemed to have more energy than when we left him. We highly recommend Jennifer and David for taking good care of your dog.

I can't say enough about how well Louise cares for Scout while he is with her. She truly loves him like he is one of her own! I love the way Louise communicates and sends pictures and videos. If there were more than 5 stars I would give her more! She sure is a star in our eyes and Scouts too! Makes it so easy for us to relax and enjoy our time knowing he is so well taken care of.

Abigail is everything you could want in a dog sitter. She looked after our dog for 3 weeks and gave regular updates throughout. From the meet and greet I could see how well she understood dog behavior and was able to determine how best to integrate my nervous/clingy dog into his new environment. Highly recommended.

Felicity is an awesome sitter. I could tell she has great experience with dogs and our little Mo felt right at home. Felicity took Mo on daily walks and gave her a lot of playtime. I would highly recommend Felicity to anyone looking for a dog sitter and I will definitely use her again.

Michelle and her husband did so great with our dog! They sent frequents photos, had great communication, and kept us updated on everything they were doing throughout the day. Our dog is from the shelter and can be a little bit “much” to handle, but we had no concerns while he was in her care. He came home happy, tired, and clean. Would 100% recommend her!

This was our first time leaving Bogey with a sitter in Spokane after moving cross-country, so there were some nerves going in. Meredith and Chandler completely put us at ease. Bogey had quite severe stomach issues over the weekend, and they handled it with so much care and calm - keeping us updated without making us feel like we needed to cut our trip short. Illness aside, he was totally settled in and had the best time with their dog, Brinkley. We came home to a happy, relaxed pup, which is all you can ask for! Will definitely bring Bogey back next time we’re away.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
