“Carolyn is ABSOLUTELY amazing! Our little Fiona is a skittish pup with separation anxiety. Carolyn was patient, loving and subtly encouraged her to come out of her shell, which she eventually did. Receiving daily updates and a video of her playing with another pup allowed US to get beyond our own separation anxiety, haha. When our flight was delayed, which made it impossible to pick her up as planned, Carolyn was once again, so calm and accommodating. We're hoping she's going to always be available when we need her. THANK YOU CAROLYN AND SARAH!!”

“Danielle is fantastic! Her communication and willingness to do a meet and greet ahead of time (even though our dog's stay was only one night) meant the world to me. She sent several photos, which I really appreciated. I knew he was in good hands. Danielle has lots of experience with dogs, and did not flinch when she knew our's was a German Shorthaired Pointer. She had previous experience with the breed and that says a lot. Don't hesitate to book with her and her family. Your furry family member will be treated like one of her own.”

“Hannah took such great care of my best friend! She was very responsive and very friendly! She had plenty of space in the back yard for my dog to run around and sent photos of him playing. Top notch dog sitter!”

“Megan was super flexible and responsive when we had travel delays and she helped our nervous dog have a great introduction to her dog. The peace of mind she provided us while we traveled was worth every penny!”

“We dropped off Ziggy for the weekend after a visit to the vet where we left with four medications, a cone and a bloody paw. Philip didn't flinch. (He was two minutes from where I was visiting my mom, so we could have been there if anything had come up.) We didn't get a lot of updates, but we came back to a dog who seemed happy, and better yet, hadn't been chewing on his paw. Highly recommend.”

“Our dogs had a great weekend with Georgia and her pet family. She sent us photos and videos of our dogs throughout their stay. We will definitely use Georgia again for our pet needs. Thank you!”

“Carley was awesome! She made me feel comfortable with leaving him by always keeping me updated and responding quickly to requested check ins. I will be using her again in a couple weeks. :) thanks for treating Russo like yours!”

“Justin is amazing! He watched my 1-year-old puppy for 5 nights while I was away. Anyone who knows my dog knows he has an endless battery and will happily play for hours on end. I always worry a bit about leaving him because he requires so much activity to stay out of trouble, but Justin handled it perfectly. My dog came home incredibly happy, and I could tell he was in the best of hands the entire time. Thank you, Justin!”

“Kellie was a fantastic puppy sitter for our mini Golden, Birdie. She and her family (and two Golden Retrievers) were kind and welcoming and Birdie was immediately being loved by the kids and playing with the dogs. Kellie sent me “pupdates”, messages and photos, a few times a day to keep me in the loop. And She was very quick to respond whenever I messaged her. Birdie came home tired and happy and we look forward to her next slumber party with Kellie and her family. I highly recommend Kellie as a caring, confident and fun dog sitter!”

“Leslie was outstanding with my older dog, Ginger. She took picures and sent me text messages to let me know how she was doing. So pleased with her care that I booked a second stay next month!”

“Jessica was great! Friendly and communicated promptly with us. Sent us pics and videos of the pups. It was clear through the pics that the dogs felt comfortable in her home. Will use again!”

“Tally had a great time with Mary and her family! Mary and her daughter came to the gate to greet us for drop off and pick up, and we got picture updates every day of Tally’s stay. Definitely recommended.”

“Milo had a great time and was taken care of exactly as his medical needs required. We appreciate the flexibility with his pickup and will certainly return if we need boarding again.”

“Our dog had a great time and was very loved on while she was there. We were sent regular photos of our girl having fun and smiling. We will definitely use Teri again!”

“Walter had such a great time with Katie. We were sent pictures or videos everyday of Walter playing out back or just hanging out. We will definately use her again. Thank you.”

Rebecca took excellent care of our two boys (Black Labradors) one of whom is a shy puppy. We received regular updates and videos. I never worried once because I knew they were being very well cared for. I would definitely recommend and am very grateful to have found her. We will be back!

Erika was great communicating with us before booking and answering questions. I’m sure my puppy had a great time with her and her dogs. Erika sent pictures while my puppy was at her house and contacted me with questions. We will definitely use her services again when visiting Post Falls, ID.

Our 11 month old puppy greatly enjoyed his time at Robin’s. Robin did everything she could to include him and make him comfortable, which included a prolonged period without power in the heat of summer. She has 2 dogs and they all got along well, she sent us many pictures and we would definitely ask her to watch our dog again if the need arose. She was easy to communicate with.

Shaunett is reliably the most wonderful person to have in your contacts when you need someone to care for your dog! She's a great communicator - very thorough at drop off to make sure she knows everything she might need to know to care for your pup, and regular with updates along the way. Super responsive, eager to help, and genuinely loves what she does. I can't recommend her enough! Thank you Shaunett!

Boarded my dog for a weekend at their house. Easy location to/from airport from CDA area. Very responsive + accommodating to my last minute booking. Followed my instructions, properly introduced his dog to mine upon arrival, and sent daily photos. Highly recommend, would book again.

Brittney is a professional! My little dog was the smallest their family had ever hosted, and they were perfect for her - reading what was going on and adjusting as needed. Her children were perfectly gentle, too, which is unusual. She's the best dogsitter we've ever had.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ID ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
