“Mandie was super responsive and flexible with Olive’s stay. She was a lifesaver for us and Olive looked so happy in the photos Mandie sent! Olive came home happy and healthy and we would definitely leave her at Mandie’s home again:)”

“I can only give a 5 star rating because 10 wasnt an option. She is absolutely incredible. Super caring. Great with my Mals. Will definitely be using her services in the future!!!!”

“Louise is a fabulous puppy sitter for Scout. She is so welcoming! Scout settled right in. Louise was great with communication and I knew on the 1st day that Scout was well taken care of (perhaps spoiled too!) Louise really wants to get to know what the dog likes and doesn't like and I love her healthy take on treats/food. I can't say enough about how wonderful staying with Louise is both for Scout and our peace of mind.”

“Jeremy and Raelynn are fantastic! Our dog got lots of walks and runs, loved playing with their dog and with them, and came back super happy. They were thoughtful and conscientious about our dog’s needs and integrating her into their family, which was wonderful. Jeremy does a great job and spends lots of time with the dogs—he treated ours like his own. We will absolutely ask them to care for our dog again next time!”

“Sarah and Jessica watched Patrick for over 24 hours. When I got there (our first time) Sarah graciously showed Patrick and I the inside living area where Patrick would mostly be, and spent some time in their beautiful fenced backyard which was a dog paradise with trees, bushes surrounding a lush green grass yard. We talked at length about Paddy’s personality and eating and sleep routines. We also chatted about the park literally next door to their house where Paddy would later go on a couple of walks (Sarah sent pictures!). When I left him, he was happy and content and not nervous at all! The next day when we picked him up, he was happy to see us of course but still relaxed and content….I can tell he really enjoyed his stay. We will definitely use Sarah and Jessica again, and in fact, we’re booking them again for an upcoming vacation of several days. (It will be a fun vacation for Patrick too!) HIGHLY RECOMMEND Jessica & Sarah for dog sitting! !”

“Amanda was fantastic! Lucy was very well taken care of and we received picture texts while we were away for the Thanksgiving weekend. She had Amanda’s dog Tibbers to play with and they went for a walk when weather permitted. We will definitely use Amanda again!”

“Leslie is an excellent dog sitter. I know my dog's happy with her since there's always a smile on her face when she sees Leslie. So appreciative of her services!”

“Hannah is amazing with pets. She took in our dog Huey during a stressful move and somehow helped him feel relaxed and at ease. He very clearly enjoyed himself! & I love that she provides frequent photos and videos!”

“Charlie had a lovely time. I got pictures while gone. Charlie was a naughty boy and marked, this is something he never does at home. Dusti handled iy well. I would recommend her and would use her again. Excellent communication throughout the stay.”

“Great dog sitter, and has good availability. Took on our dog last minute. He sent pictures of our baby and communicated with us when our flights were delayed. Very great at taking care of our dog with various medicine protocols at feeding times.”

“Erich is the best! He went above and beyond with my dog Eddie. He was prompt to reply. He shared great photos and details from Eddie’s stay. He made sure Eddie was loved on and had lots of attention and exercise. Truly - he is the best dog sitter I have ever had. Eddie immediately made himself right at home at Erich’s house.”

“Taylor took incredible care of my two year old Bernese Mountain Dog. Jelly was so loved and cared for. Taylor went above and beyond for my Jelly. I would absolutely recommend Taylor.”

“Nelia was fabulous! She was flexible when my schedule changed and Gary had a great time. She has a perfect setup for the dogs at her house. Felt very comfortable leaving Gary.”

“Jamie was great and accommodating when I needed to modify my booking. Got a few cute videos & pictures. He seems very happy and came home freshly bathed. Thank you! 🐾”

“Kayla did an amazing job caring for our pup Jasper. She sent regular updates and even gave him special treats. I appreciate that she took him on walks and played with him!”

“Justin is my go-to dog sitter for when I go out of town! He's always willing to watch my dog on short notice, and let me pick her up and drop her off whenever works best for my schedule. I can tell my dog absolutely loves staying with him, as she gets SO Excited when we get there, and always comes home exhausted. It's great that she can play with his family and get all her energy out and be a dog. I never worry about River when I am out of town, so that's a nice feeling! Thanks again Justin for helping me out.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
