“Our baby had to go to the emergency vet for stomach issues and Xenia saved the day! She communicated with us every step of the way and everything turned out okay. Thank you Xenia!”

“Lisa has taken great care of my two cats. She is very attentive to the smallest of details. My cats LOVE her and we appreciate Lisa’s kindness. I highly recommend her services.”

“Jackie went above and beyond my expectations. She had a flexible schedule and always spent a little extra time during her drop-in visits making sure my cat was taken care of. Would highly recommend her taking care of anyone’s animal. 10/10 stars”

“This was our first time using Rover and came across Stephanie. We are sure glad we found her because she was great with our kitty. We were gone over the 4th of July and she was great with Maggie. Pictures and videos were provided and Stephanie gave great insight to how Maggie was doing. We had a great first experience with the app, through Stephanie! Thank you!”

About: I have years of experience with horses, dogs, and cats. I have always had pets growing up, from small mutts to large high drive German Shepherds (currently have them!). I have knowledge of most breeds and their traits, which I believe helps you understand the pet itself. I have worked as an equine veterinary technician before for 2 years, which has exposed me to many different types of pets, big and small! I currently am self employed and run my own business. I enjoy going on walks and figured why not get a new buddy to go with me! I love animals and would much prefer hanging out with your cat, or dog than anything else really. I'll alway make time to pet that dog! (or cat, we don't play favorites. But we all know cats decide when they want to be pet. ;) ) I always put safety and comfort first. I follow each pet’s routine so they feel at ease, make sure they have fresh food and water, and keep their space calm and secure. Whether I’m in my home or yours, I treat every pet like they’re my own—with love, patience, and attention.
About: I discovered my love for animals when my mom rescued a Shiba Inu shortly after my dad died. Since then, I've made every effort to learn as much as I can about cats and dogs, including going to professional grooming school and I'm currently working on becoming a certified dog trainer. Most of my experience with cats has come from my sister and her roommate, but I love cats just as much as I love dogs I do have another part time job, but scheduling is flexible so I'll have plenty of time in the day to check on your buddy! I'm very conscious of their safety and always use a leash, always make sure fenced areas are secure, and that there's no toxic plants around them. My own have a history of bolting/running away, so these things have become 2nd nature for me.
“Brittney has been so great and attentive to my dogs. I have a senior blind/deaf dog and she’s been very careful with her. She always goes above and beyond and I couldn’t recommend her more.”

“Jessalyn did a great job dropping in on our cat while we were on vacation! She sent lots of pictures, played with him with toys so he didn’t get super bored, and took very good care of him with food, water, and cat treats. His litter box was clean and he had been brushed as requested. We will definitely use her again 😊👍”

“Shachel was amazing at taking care of my foster kittens while I was traveling. She is so kind and sent daily updates with photos. I highly recommend her to take care of your fur babies!😻”

“Brianna was amazing! She helped us out on short notice and was always super communicative and helpful! Our dogs were well taken care of and we will definitely book with her again!”

“Sarah did an outstanding job! We truly appreciated the thoughtful updates and adorable photos of our fur babies throughout our time away. It was comforting to know that Ranger and the cats were in such capable and caring hands. Your attention to their needs and well-being made a world of difference for us. Thank you so much for providing such excellent care while we were gone!”

“I'm so glad that I found Rover to help me with my cat while I was on vacation. Sherin took good care of Toby and I was relieved to see that he was happy upon my return home..”

About: My father taught me about life by giving me pets since I was able to walk. Animals are a gift and should be treated like they are family. I work full time, but I still have plenty of time to take care of your pets. Having a small farm myself, my kids, who are older, pitch in to give animals all the care and love they need! I have a fenced in property and enclosed kennels for exercise. I also enjoy taking them on walks and playing ball with them outside. Any specific requests will try to be honored…
About: I’ve been actively working in the vet field for 3 years but I have been loving and caring for pets of all sizes for much longer! I do work full time at a veterinary clinic. So on days that I work, I will be gone from 7:30-5:30 but outside of my work hours, your pets are my number 1 priority! I have tons of knowledge and experience with dogs and cats and their body language. I always strive to make sure that the pet is comfortable and not stressed with anything we do.
About: I grew up around animals. I have experience with puppies, senior dogs and everything in between. I can provide a safe happy space for your pet to explore. I work two days a week. I have a lot of availability and flexibility the days I am not at work. I go to and leave work at 8am. I have one friendly 4 year old neutered male dog. He is allowed on the furniture and sleeps in bed with my husband and I. We bring our pet with us whenever possible on new adventures. We have a large fenced in back yard.

“We absolutely recommend Heather for your all your pet sitting needs! Heather is professional above all else in her communication, reliability, and responsibilities. She is also an honest and thoughtful person. Our two cats were very well cared for, we trust Heather in our home, and plan to book with her in the near future.”

Brittney is a lifesaver! I desperately needed someone to take my dog potty on Tuesdays due to my work schedule, and Brittney came to the rescue! This is the first time my dog has had a sitter, and Brittney was very patient with him. He also felt very comfortable with her the first time we met, which says a lot. It was so relieving getting a picture and walk update while being stuck at work. Thank you!

Juliana was a great help when it came time to find a cat sitter over the holiday! It was a last minute booking but her quick communication and welcoming persona was reassuring that I was leaving my pet in good hands. She’s hardworking, exceptionally punctual, and was wonderful with keeping me up to date and letting me know what my cat was up to during the day. Thanks Juliana!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
