“Danielle was amazing!! I received photos every visit while traveling for work, a much needed pick me up on work trips. Danielle watched my husky, Great Dane, and 4 month old mixed breed puppy recently adopted from the Humane society and a little skittish but she took to Danielle quickly. I am glad to have found a good dog sitter for my work trips. Highly recommend!!”

“Maddie took very good care of our 11 year old cat as well as keeping an eye on our house, bringing in the mail and watering flower boxes during a hot week. I appreciated the wonderful pictures she sent us showing Lucy happy and relaxed.”

“Caitlyn is a reliable sitter who has done drop-in visits for my cats during two trips out of town so far, and I would definitely trust her watching them again in the future. I have four cats, so it's no small task, but Caitlyn did a great job with feeding and playtime, keeping me updated with pictures and going the extra mile bringing my packages inside. Came home to happy kitties. :) Thank you!!”

“Jordyn did drop-in visits to care for our kitty while we were away for the holidays. She kept us well-informed and made sure our cat was well taken care of! Highly recommend her to anyone needing a reliable and caring sitter!”

“I’m so happy that Carrie came into my world and takes care of my three kitties - Arthur, Odie, and Emily. I’m recovering from surgery and really needed help. They warmed up to her right away and now they watch for her every morning. She left a sweatshirt and they take turns sleeping on it. Carrie is the only pet sitter I’ll use from now on. Patricia”

“Ashton and Shelby are responsible, caring and conscientious. They are great at communicating, and showed flexibility when I had a need for an extra visit. Knowing that they were truly caring for my animals helped me have the peace of mind needed to relax and enjoy my trip. I highly recommend them and will not hesitate to hire them again. My cats, rabbits, fish and plants were all well-looked after and I really enjoyed all the photos and updates!”

“Sarah was great! She not only took care of my dog, she also did a few extra things. My dog needed medication for a UTI right before I left town and she didn’t hesitate to give it to her for me while I was gone. She had good communication on how things were going. I would recommend her!”

“Julia cuddled and played with my cat sandwich, and sent me plenty of pictures! She was very prompt to accept my last minute booking request and was communicative the entire time. 10/10 recommend booking Julia!”

“Jennifer is reliable and makes sure our cats are fed and played with every time she visits. We plan to continue to book her whenever we need help! Thanks Jennifer! (I am a Rover employee)”

“Krissy is awesome! She did drop-in visits for our senior golden retriever while we were out of town and we came home to a very happy dog! She is very trustworthy and we will be using again.”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover, self-appointed professional cat whisperer, and firm believer that every pet deserves VIP treatment while you’re away! I volunteer at SCRAPS Animal Shelter, so I’m used to everything from cuddle bugs to “don’t look at me” gremlins. At home, I’m proudly managed by my 13-year-old cat, Mr. Meowgi, who runs the household with an iron paw. Whether your pet wants playtime, snuggles and snacks, or just someone to admire them from a far, I’ve got it covered! Don’t worry, your plant babies will get some love too! 🌱 I have a flexible schedule which gives me plenty of time to give your pets the attention they deserve! I’m available all throughout the week for drop-ins, walks, playtime, snuggles, and keeping your pet’s normal routine on track. I’ll care for your pets like they’re my own while respecting their home, routine, and boundaries. I’m happy to follow detailed instructions for feeding, litter boxes, walks, medications, playtime, and anything else that keeps them happy and comfortable. I’ll also send plenty of updates and photos so you know your fur baby is in good hands!
About: I’ve had my dog for over 6 years and he’s such a happy dog! I will always make sure your pet feels just as loved as if it were my own! I am currently a junior at Gonzaga University and I am always active. I have class mostly in the morning so after those I have no plans until volleyball practice which is for the club team at school which I love. I want every pet to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while they’re with me. I’ll follow their normal routine and any specific instructions from their owner, and I’ll always be respectful of their home and space.

“Karen has done about 6 drop in visits with our two pups. She is responsive, friendly, and very clearly understands our two large dogs. If we need to be away from the house for an extended period of time we know our dogs are in good hands with Karen.”

About: I have helped with many people's pets who needed walked. Also have done pet sitting with house sitting. I have enjoyed meeting animals and getting to know them. I'm currently working part time and able to make plenty of time to walk and do drop in visits for other people's pets aka fur babies. I like to learn how each fur babies home is and get to know the neighborhood to keep them in an environment that helps keep them calm in their natural home area.
“Danei is very laid back and down to earth. My senior chihuahua loves her! She is very thorough and detailed in her visits and descriptions which I really appreciate. Thank you Danei!!”

“I was so nervous leaving my parrot overnight, but with Mariana’s drop ins everything went great. He was well taken care of. She was dependable, had great communication, on time and thorough. I trusted her, and will be hiring her again for sure:)”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Spokane
Lauren watched our cat for three weeks and she was awesome! Highly recommend her as a sitter. She always showed up on time, communicated very well with daily check ins and photos and never rushed her visits. We were nervous to be away for that long but that eased after the first few days knowing the love, care and time Lauren was giving our cat. I’d give her 10 stars if I could!
Caitlyn was lovely; all the qualities you'd want in a pet carer - timely, reliable, thorough, helpful, and communicative. In addition to feeding my cats and cleaning the litter box, she played with them daily, brought in the mail, kept an eye out for an unexpected package delivery, and vacuumed the laundry room where the litter box is kept. The cats and I are happy and satisfied with Caitlyn's service.

Cathy took such great care of my dog while I was away. She was also very communicative (even when I wasn't able to respond right away) about the wildfires going on while I was out of town and double-checking with me what I wanted to do for my dog while folks were being evacuated. Thank you!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
