Willow can care for
Availability
I work weekdays on a public school schedule, which allows me to provide pet care in the mornings, evenings, and consistently on weekends, holidays, and school breaks. My schedule aligns well with families who need dependable care outside of typical work hours, and I’m especially available during weekends and longer school breaks. I plan my pet care commitments carefully to ensure each animal receives attentive, unhurried care.

Safety, trust & environment
I provide care in my clients’ homes and tailor each visit to the pet’s routine, energy level, and individual needs. This can include neighborhood walks, playtime in the yard, games like fetch, enrichment activities, and plenty of affection and companionship. With 15 years of veterinary assistant experience and a lifelong background in farm animal care, I’m comfortable administering medications, monitoring for signs of illness or stress, and following detailed care instructions. I prioritize safety, consistency, and calm handling, and I make sure pets feel secure and cared for while their owners are away. My goal is to keep pets happy, healthy, and relaxed in their familiar environment.
Information Willow R. would like to know about your pet
I prefer that pets are up to date on vaccinations and are spayed or neutered, though this is not required. I also prefer pets to be potty trained. Knowing a pet’s routine, energy level, and any medical or behavioral needs ahead of time helps me provide the best care possible.
A typical day
I tailor activities to each pet’s energy level and personality. For active pets, I enjoy games like fetch, frisbee, and engaging walks around the neighborhood or to nearby parks. For pets who prefer a calmer pace, I focus on gentle walks, enrichment time, and lots of love and affection. Whether a pet wants to play hard or relax, I make sure they feel happy, stimulated, and cared for.

School teacher and vet assistant
Pet care experience
I was raised on a working goat farm and grew up caring for a wide range of animals, including goats, ducks, chickens, cats, dogs, cows, and pigs. That early experience led me to earn my veterinary assistant certification from Bellingham Technical College, and I spent 15 years working as a vet assistant in both Bellingham and Colville. Four years ago, I returned to school and earned my master’s degree in teaching, and I currently work as a substitute teacher for Spokane Public Schools. While I love working with people, I deeply miss being around animals—especially dogs and cats. Living in an apartment where I can’t have pets has made pet care an especially meaningful way for me to stay connected to animals. With my background in veterinary care, I’m comfortable administering medications, recognizing signs of illness or stress, and providing calm, attentive care. I treat every pet as if they were my own and prioritize safety, routine, and affection.
Reviews

Our little cat loved having Willow help us out! We are very grateful that she was around!

Our cats love Willow! She always does a great job keeping them happy while we are away.

Willow was amazing with our three cats. I could tell they were very happy to see her each day. She was also very helpful and flexible when we had a few hiccups at the house while we were away. I will definitely call on her again to pet sit for us. She was great. Five stars!

Willow is someone I trust with my fur babies. She is reliable and also makes good decisions about dealing with some of my young dog's issues. She is also very pleasant and good at communicating.
