“Taylor is amazing. She went above and beyond to make sure our very anxious old dog felt secure and was happy. The pics from day one until the end show how he improved each day. He is not a big fan of the smile but he had one in his ongoing pictures also a nice thing to see happy and do relaxed. Can’t wait to use her again. It’s a blessing to enjoy your vacation and not worry about your pets because you know they are being cared for!”

About: I’ve always loved animals of all sorts and have grown up taking care of my family’s pets and friend’s pets. I have 5+ years of experience working in the veterinary medicine field as an assistant and receptionist, continuing to gain knowledge and new skills. I have the knowledge to care for various types of pets, from dogs and cats to pocket pets to large animal. I’m proficient at handling various needs of your pets, such as medication administration and speciality care with different diets. I have experience caring for young and senior pets! I currently work full time at a local veterinary hospital but am flexible around my work day. I’m available for drop in visits and walks around my work day and overnight stays at your home. I stick to your pets routines as much as possible while caring for them in your home. Paying extra attention to them while we’re outside, such as checking the pavement if it’s too hot while on walks, or staying out with your pet while in your yard. Safety and the well being of your pet(s) is my priority.
“We had Aliyah look after our two kitties while we were away for a few days. She did a great job communicating before, during, and after our scheduled time away. It was so nice to have daily photo updates to see what they were up to. We will definitely seek out Aliyah for any future cat sitting needs.”

About: We have dogs, snakes, and a bunny. We have kept many different pets for the past 10 years and love caring for all animals! Even the grouchy ones 😊 Our dogs eat at 12:30 and at 6:30 each day with frequent trips outside. They are friendly and we keep them trained to eat only out of their own bowls. Pet care is daily life in our home (with my spouse) and we both take pride in our relationships with animals I will frequently check for assent amongst pets to ensure safety and wellbeing. If animals need to be separated, we live in our finished basement and work upstairs, making it easy to both separate and engage with all the animals frequently. Any instructions will be religiously followed. I am getting my masters in behavior analysis so I am ALWAYS aware of the dynamics of our animals and animal guests!

“Alex took such great care of my cats! I could tell they were getting attention and I could see the progress of them getting more and more comfortable with her with each visit. Loved the adorable photos she sent!”
“Chloe is fantastic! 10/10 would recommend. We had an emergency and had to run out the house, barely had time to give instructions. Chloe took it in stride and took excellent care of our babies.”

“Cathy is wonderful. She communicated well with me. My neighbors even said she was great. I will definitely ask her again to watch over Gracie, when I take my next trip.”

About: I won't just treat them as a "pet" I treat all animals as family. I have taken care of various dog and cats from family members and friends since I was a child. This included staying over, walking, feeding, training and playing. At the moment I am pursuing schooling for dog training so I have open availability I usually ask for a days notice but it never hurts to ask. I have had experience with larger dogs (German shepherds, Great Pyerenese, Pitbulls and Saint Bernards) as well as small dogs (Chihuahua's, Shih Tzu and Dachshunds). I also provide baths and nail trimming when asked. I enjoy running too so if your looking to get your dog in shape! If your pets coming to my house they must be crate trained (for when I sleep) and friendly with other dogs.
“Carla is great! Her timely communication and professionalism provided peace of mind while we were away. We will certainly be having her house sit/drop-in while we are on our next foray!”
“I cannot recommend Shontaeia highly enough. On her very first job caring for my cats, she quite literally saved one of their lives. In discussion with me, she took my cat to the emergency animal hospital. Her quick thinking, compassion, and willingness to act made all the difference. Throughout the entire ordeal, she went far above and beyond what anyone could expect from a pet sitter. She spent extra hours caring for both of my cats, making sure they were comfortable, loved, and well cared for during an incredibly stressful time. She even learned how to use a pill piller so she could administer my cat's new medication correctly. She stayed in constant communication with me, providing frequent updates, answering my questions, and brainstorming ideas with me while I was away. Knowing she was there, advocating for my cat and treating both of them as if they were her own, gave me tremendous peace of mind. If you're looking for someone who is responsible, compassionate, resourceful, and genuinely devoted to the animals in her care, I wholeheartedly recommend her. She didn't just care for my cats—she became their advocate when they needed one most, and I will always be grateful.”

“Elizabeth is a gem! We had a last minute emergency and she helped us with our dogs like she was family. We have used her services in the past and will no doubt boom with her every time!”

About: I have had dogs since I was a little girl. I used to love running around with my German Shepherd named Rambo. I currently have 2 little dogs and I love them so much! I am a stay at home mom. My kids are older though. I have plenty of time for new animal friends! I love taking walks and snuggling with animals! I have cats that will stay upstairs if your dog visits. I also have 2 very friendly girls that can play with your dog. There is a big park next to my house that has plenty of room to run!
About: Animal lover since I was little, I’ve had personal and professional experience caring for a wide range of animals. From reptiles, bunnies, guinea pigs, dogs, and my favorite-cats, I’ve seen it all. Aspiring to work in the veterinary world, I will always treat your fur(or scale!) friends as my own. Spending time with animals is truly one of my favorite things to do and seeing them happy and healthy is always my number one goal! I’m currently working a weekend position while trying to build pet care into my more substantial work. I am available quite frequently throughout the week, and I’m available on the weekends days, it will just be outside of whatever shift I’m working. Going on walks is something I try to fit into my personal life every day, being able to walk with your pups or checking on other animals is just an added bonus! My biggest thing is being aware. Animals, though adorable, aren’t the smartest. I try to be proactive by making sure the areas I’m in are always well-kept and safe for the animals. My second priority is keeping them on as much of their routine as they can, making your absence a little more manageable. I always like to make sure to spend quality time with everyone, do any consistent rituals that they have, and just stay consistent so not only are they safe, but they’re feeling the love.

About: Grew up with big dogs and 5 cats! Been the petsitter for my family and friends for years. I've looked after a litter of newborn mini Aussie puppies and have kept up dog training & routines while my sisters were traveling. From very energetic dogs to high-needs senior dogs--I've taken care of them all! I have no allergies, and mess doesn't bother me one bit. I normally teach English Composition at the local university, but I've got nothing to teach this summer! I'm writing a novel and would LOVE a reason to step away from the keyboard--dog walking, house sitting, playing. I'm very flexible. I am a very polite guest and follow written instructions to the letter. If I am housesitting, my goal is to always leave homes as I found them. Dishes done, trash taken out, floors swept, and plants watered!
About: I’m patient, caring, dependable, reliable and take my dog out on walks every day. I work from home so I will be with your beloved pet at all times. I work from home and have one dog who I walk daily. Most of my time is spent with my dog and if your dog stays with us, they will be with us all day. I do live in an apartment, however, I am active and attentive so I can provide a lot of activity outdoors or spend time with your dog indoors if that’s what they prefer.
About: I’m interested in pet care as a way to earn some extra money, but I also genuinely love animals and enjoy spending time with them. Being away from my own pets while I’m at college has made me miss having animals around, so I’d love the opportunity to care for other people’s pets while doing something I truly enjoy. It would be a great way for me to make some extra money while also getting to spend time with and care for animals. Since moving to college, I’m away from my dog and farm animals that I cared for every day. Pet care has always been a regular part of my routine, and I’d love to continue caring for animals while I’m away from home. I care for pets in their home by following their normal routines, keeping them comfortable and giving them plenty of attention. I make sure they are fed, have fresh water, get the exercise they need, and receive lots of love and care while their owners are away. I also respect each client’s home and make sure everything is left clean and as it was when I arrived.

Cathy took such great care of my dog while I was away. She was also very communicative (even when I wasn't able to respond right away) about the wildfires going on while I was out of town and double-checking with me what I wanted to do for my dog while folks were being evacuated. Thank you!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Spokane with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
