“Our Family had a fairly long trip and did not want to put our dogs in a different location. Looking on Rover we found Phillip who responded right away. Our trip was through Thanksgiving and that was not a problem for him. He came over to meet our two dogs and they took to him right away. Received updates from him even though for us maybe a little more communication would have been nice but the over-all experience was really good. When we returned back from our trip and he dropped off our house key the dogs were so very excited to see him. Normally when we are gone and come back our dogs tend to not be themselves for a while. We got right back into things with them like we never left. Thanks for taking such good care of our girls.”

“My pup is a senior and we do not leave her often so it was great to know Morgan was there with her at night. She took great care of our girl and we will absolutely use her again!”

“Emma did a great job of making a connection with our dog. It was apparent he felt comfortable with her. We really appreciated the pictures and updates she sent to us regularly. Thank you!”

“Shamra is amazing! Our two dogs were so perfectly loved and safe with her, and she left our house absolutely beautiful. She communicated with us frequently and sent us photos and videos of them during their time together. We are so appreciative of her excellent, above-and-beyond care and recommend her wholeheartedly. She is truly the best.”

“Emma was absolutely amazing. She took great care of my little Stormi. She sent updates with pictures and did everything I asked. She was very accommodating with my crazy schedule. And was easy to talk to about my needs. I will be using her for now on. Thank you!”

“Rebecca was great with Loki and Brewer. She kept us up to date on their naps! They were both so much less stressed than boarding and I am so glad we had the opportunity to meet and have Rebecca here for a couple of days. Will definitely be calling her back if she can squeeze us in!”

“Amanda was absolutely excellent! She communicated throughout our stay if there were any questions or issues. We came home to a clean house and happy pups so I would definitely recommend her to others to house sit and take care of their dogs! We already have her booked for our next trip. Thanks so much Amanda for taking such good care of our babies 🥰🥰”

About: Although I'm new to professional pet sitting, I've spent my entire life around dogs and cats and understand the responsibility that comes with caring for a beloved pet. I'm highly organized, dependable, and committed to following each pet's routine and care instructions closely. Whether that means feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications, or simply providing companionship, I strive to make pets feel comfortable, safe, and happy. Every pet has their own personality and needs, and I enjoy taking the time to build trust with both pets and their owners. Clear communication is important to me, and I'm happy to provide updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I plan to pursue pet care certifications and additional training to expand my knowledge and provide the best possible care. I would love the opportunity to meet you and your furry family members! I currently work a full-time job with a local credit union; however, my job does allow for flexibility in my schedule. I am able to do a mid-day pop-in during the lunch hours or early evening as I am off work at 4:30pm. During the weekend, I'm happy to do pop-ins or extended walks and play time. I know that pets are children too, and I want to treat yours with love. When I'm with your fur baby, I am fully committed to ensuring their health and wellness. I have experience with giving medications to dogs and cats, so a squirmy one does not scare me. I also love playing with dogs and chilling on the couch with cats (or whatever your pet might need). I am also able and willing to make sure your pet is in bed/crate if that is what is needed.
“Amazing pet/house sitter! Maui and Kaedie absolutely adore Larke, even Kaedie comes out to greet her. I know my fur babies and home are in good hands when Larke is there!”

“Took such amazing care of our 3 dogs on short notice. Allowed us to have our minds at ease while we got married. Cleaned up some messes they made inside and outside as well and sent photo updates constantly.”

“Julie was an absolute gem! Our girl calmed right down and enjoyed her new friend. Julie sent us photos showing Rosie nice and relaxed at hom, as well as playing ball. She even washed the sheets and emptied the dishwasher! We will definitely ask Julie to stay again.”

“Cadie was great! Took care of my pets and plants and problem-solved when a portion of the fence broke during a windstorm. I will definitely be reaching out to her next time I need my pets watched!”

About: I’ve always loved animals of all sorts and have grown up taking care of my family’s pets and friend’s pets. I have 5+ years of experience working in the veterinary medicine field as an assistant and receptionist, continuing to gain knowledge and new skills. I have the knowledge to care for various types of pets, from dogs and cats to pocket pets to large animal. I’m proficient at handling various needs of your pets, such as medication administration and speciality care with different diets. I have experience caring for young and senior pets! I currently work full time at a local veterinary hospital but am flexible around my work day. I’m available for drop in visits and walks around my work day and overnight stays at your home. I stick to your pets routines as much as possible while caring for them in your home. Paying extra attention to them while we’re outside, such as checking the pavement if it’s too hot while on walks, or staying out with your pet while in your yard. Safety and the well being of your pet(s) is my priority.
“she was amazing!! had a great meet and greet, updated us while we were gone, and left a thank you note as we left a ‘welcome’ note. it was a place having her watching our pet kids and we are looking forward to her next visit with us :)”

“Audrey was great! Our dogs love her. She house/dog sat for us for two weeks and we never had to worry about if the dogs were being well taken care of. She was very communicative, if she was unsure about something always made sure to double check with us, sent lots of pics, and my house was clean and put together when we got back. 10/10 would definitely recommend and will be using her again ☺️”

About: I have cared for many breeds of dogs and lots of cats throughout my life. I get so much joy out of caring for animals. I have owned dogs and cats for years and am the go-to house sitter for all of my family and friends because I absolutely love animals. I have experience administering medications as well as caring for senior dogs and cats. I have pet sit for anxious dogs, dogs with deafness, and other conditions too. I also am a very experienced gardener and will take care of any indoor plants or outdoor watering if needed. My schedule is very open and I am almost always available for the times and days you need. I am disabled and do not work a typical nine to five job so my availability is incredibly flexible! I live in San apartment so I am unable to board any animals at this time, but I can commute for house sitting and drop ins at any time of day. The health and happiness of your pets is always my first priority and keeping their schedules and routines is a big part of that. I will take particular care that all of your furry family members are safe and taken care of with as little stress as possible. I will pay special attention to playtime, diet restrictions, medications and snuggles , as well any any other concerns you might have.
“When you're away you want your pet to be taken care of how you would care for them, and Velma is as close to that as I can get! She is very communicative, letting me know when she arrives, and sends daily updates on how the pups did. I definitely will hire her again.”

Jenny was great with my 2 dogs! She was always on time, great communication, and was very good with both my puppy and my more difficult adult male dog who is reactive on leash and can be mouthy. She is wonderful with my dogs and has been a repeat sitter and walker for me and I will continue to rehire her in the future!

Kathy was so great with my fur babies! Constant attention, love, ball throwing, more attention and when I ran out of the dogs bougie rice appetizer , she made him more. They were well loved and taken care of while I was gone. House looked great when I got back! Couldn’t be happier

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Dishman on Rover is $37.45 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 757 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Dishman. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dishman walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dishman maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dishman choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dishman. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
