“We used Damien for just a short 2 night trial trip and was great. One of our dogs gets very excitable when first meeting someone new, jumping up and not listening. She finally settles down, but takes some firm action at first to get her to listen. Damien was very patient but firm and after the first 20 minutes were buddies the rest of the stay, going back to her chill self. He was prompt, followed all instructions and gave lots of quality time with our dogs. We feel we can plan a longer trip now and feel confident dogs will be in good hands. I recommend Damien with confidence.”

“Morgan watched our 3 dogs and 1 cat, which was no easy feat, and she made it look easy. Not only is she trustworthy and kind, the animals loved her and she sent photo updates while we were on vacation. To have no stress while out of town and our babies looked after so well is priceless. She is now our regular sitter :)”

“Candice is great with our dog, for the past 2 years and now here on Rover. Maple gets so excited to see her like her long lost Bestie. She, spends time quality time outside playing with her, loving on her, hanging out & even waters my garden if we are gone for an extended time.”

“Our Family had a fairly long trip and did not want to put our dogs in a different location. Looking on Rover we found Phillip who responded right away. Our trip was through Thanksgiving and that was not a problem for him. He came over to meet our two dogs and they took to him right away. Received updates from him even though for us maybe a little more communication would have been nice but the over-all experience was really good. When we returned back from our trip and he dropped off our house key the dogs were so very excited to see him. Normally when we are gone and come back our dogs tend to not be themselves for a while. We got right back into things with them like we never left. Thanks for taking such good care of our girls.”

“When Logan and Xena met Velma, it was ahroo at first sight! Because they are Shibas, this was impressive and we booked with her while we went on a week's vacation. Velma didn't dissappoint! She dropped Xena's eye on schedule and coaxed Logan into his nightly medication. Velma made sure the puppers were happy and cared for. When we arrived home, the house was neat and tidy, just like we left it. Velma will be Xena and Logan's friend furever.”

“Rebecca watched our two adult greyhounds and 4.5 month old puppy over the Thanksgiving holiday for 4 nights. She did an awesome job, feeding and letting them out at appropriate times. We are so thankful to have had one less worry! She kept the house tidy and was great about communication. Thanks so much, Rebecca!”

“Meighan was great with my very needy dog! It put my mind at ease while traveling to know my dog was in such great hands! I came back to a very clean home and a happy dog. Thanks so much, Meighan!”

About: Although I'm new to professional pet sitting, I've spent my entire life around dogs and cats and understand the responsibility that comes with caring for a beloved pet. I'm highly organized, dependable, and committed to following each pet's routine and care instructions closely. Whether that means feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications, or simply providing companionship, I strive to make pets feel comfortable, safe, and happy. Every pet has their own personality and needs, and I enjoy taking the time to build trust with both pets and their owners. Clear communication is important to me, and I'm happy to provide updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I plan to pursue pet care certifications and additional training to expand my knowledge and provide the best possible care. I would love the opportunity to meet you and your furry family members! I currently work a full-time job with a local credit union; however, my job does allow for flexibility in my schedule. I am able to do a mid-day pop-in during the lunch hours or early evening as I am off work at 4:30pm. During the weekend, I'm happy to do pop-ins or extended walks and play time. I know that pets are children too, and I want to treat yours with love. When I'm with your fur baby, I am fully committed to ensuring their health and wellness. I have experience with giving medications to dogs and cats, so a squirmy one does not scare me. I also love playing with dogs and chilling on the couch with cats (or whatever your pet might need). I am also able and willing to make sure your pet is in bed/crate if that is what is needed.

About: I’ve worked & volunteer at shelters for about 5 years and have experience working with different types of dogs such as reactive, fearful, shy and friendly; as well of many different breeds. I was crossed trained as a veterinary assistant and have given medication before. I’ve earn my CCTBS (Certified Canine Training and Behavior Specialist) with the Animal Behavior Institute and I’m in my last quarter to compete my Advanced Canine Certification as well as my Feline Certification. I offer both Dog & Cat training services! I do have a full time job that is in the evening however this gives me ample time to provide quality care such as play time and long walks in the morning and checking on them late at night for one last potty break and ensuring everything is locked up so your pet is safe & sound. If you leave detailed instructions, I will follow them to a T. I can also provide photos frequently to show your pet having fun and relaxing at home safely. If a concern arises, I will immediately notify you no matter how small. You can always reach out about anything and everything, I love communicating and would want the same if someone was caring for my animals.

About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember and have always been the person friends and family trust to care for their pets. I have a Havanese named Pita who is my little adventure buddy. He’s 6 years old, about 16 lbs, and is a very friendly little guy who loves being around other dogs. I work from home, so your pup will have plenty of company, attention, and won’t be left alone during the day. I live in a clean, tidy apartment right off the Centennial Trail, so we love getting outside for walks and fresh air. Whether your dog loves adventures, playtime, or just relaxing and cuddling, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved like they’re part of the family while you’re away. I work from home with a flexible schedule, so caring for pets fits naturally into my daily routine. Your pup will have plenty of company, attention, potty breaks, walks, and playtime throughout the day. Pita and I already enjoy daily walks on the Centennial Trail, relaxing at home, and getting outside whenever we can, so your dog will be included like part of our normal day. I want every dog to feel safe, comfortable, and at home while they’re with me. I live in a clean, tidy apartment and always make sure pets are cared for in a calm and safe environment. I pay close attention to each dog’s personality, routine, and comfort level. Whether they want to play, go for walks, cuddle, or just relax, I’ll make sure they get the care and attention they need.
“Vanessa does a super job of taking care of my little senior dog and frequently updates me on how he's doing. She's my first choice whenever I need a dog/house sitter! I know my pup is in good hands with Vanessa.”

“Tanner is absolutely the best! He stayed in our home with Willy while we were out of town, and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better to care for him. Tanner went above and beyond, taking Willy on walks, playing with him, giving him plenty of attention, and making sure he was happy and comfortable while we were away. Tanner is incredibly kind, polite, professional, and clearly knowledgeable when it comes to caring for pets. He also took excellent care of our home and somehow left it in even better shape than when we left! We would wholeheartedly recommend Tanner to anyone looking for a trustworthy, responsible, and caring pet sitter. We will absolutely be using him again in the future. Thank you so much for taking such great care of our Willy, Tanner! 🐾”

“Just came home to happy dogs and the house just the way we left it! Thank you for taking such great care of our dogs who hate being left alone. We got several photos throughout the week and it seemed the dogs were in great hands.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Spokane Valley
First time user of the Rover app and we had Rachel over to our house for 6 days to watch our 2 goldens. It was a perfect match. She brought her Golden with her and they all got along so well. 2 swimming trips to the river and lots of play time at our house. She treated our dogs like they were her own. Lots of daily communication, videos and pictures made us feel at ease with having someone that we barely knew, watch over our house and dogs. There was even a new dog toy and chews left behind for the boys. Do no hesitate to book Rachel for any of your pet sitting needs. We will definitely reach out to her again when the time comes for another booking.

I would recommend Vanessa to anyone who is looking for an amazing dog sitter, she sat with my boys for 5 days and I didn’t worry one bit, she sent pics twice a day and checked in which was great so I was able to relax knowing they were in great hands. When we got home my our house was in better condition than when we left. Thank you Vanessa!! I will definitely book you again.

We had a wonderful experience with Jessalyn and would book with her again. She took amazing care of our dog, kept us updated, sent lots of pictures and videos which was so fun to see, and went above and beyond to make sure he was happy and comfortable. She even gave him baths before we got home and vacuumed everything up afterward, which was such a thoughtful touch and so appreciated. It was clear she genuinely cared for him which is so nice to see when we are out on a trip. We're so grateful for the excellent care and attention she provided. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable dog sitter!

Jenny was great with my 2 dogs! She was always on time, great communication, and was very good with both my puppy and my more difficult adult male dog who is reactive on leash and can be mouthy. She is wonderful with my dogs and has been a repeat sitter and walker for me and I will continue to rehire her in the future!

I am so grateful for Kimarie. She was amazing with my two senior dogs Lulu and Ruby. If I couldn’t be with them, I would choose Kimarie to care for them. I highly recommend Kimarie to anyone looking for a responsible dog/house sitter that you can completely trust! Much thanks to Kimarie!

We just moved to Spokane and we have a Chihuahua and a German Shepherd/Belgium. Addison followed all of our instructions and informed us about a potty accident and cleaned it. Which we were really thankful for. Addison, is transparent and honest about what goes on with the dogs and that gave me comfort, knowing that we could trust her.

Kathy was so great with my fur babies! Constant attention, love, ball throwing, more attention and when I ran out of the dogs bougie rice appetizer , she made him more. They were well loved and taken care of while I was gone. House looked great when I got back! Couldn’t be happier

I highly recommend Eowyn!! Eowyn took care of our anxious dog while we traveled. We came home to a calm and content dog, a clean home, and well watered plants! We received daily photo updates from Eowyn and when we saw our dog interact with Eowyn, Eowyn’s skill in understanding dogs and connecting with them was obvious. Our dog was licking Eowyns face within a few minutes of meeting Eowyn!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Spokane Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Spokane Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Spokane Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
