“I had an exceptional experience with Amanda and Justin. My wife and I were visiting Spokane for three days during a heatwave, and needed daycare for Casey. They did a terrific job, especially introducing Casey to their larger dogs and communicating via text and the Rover app. We felt completely comfortable leaving Casey in their very capable hands.”

“Hannah is simply the best! She watches our pup every week but in addition to that she watched him so we could go out on a date night. She loves our good boy like her own and it is just wonderful! 🥰”

“We are from Seattle area so of course finding a sitter for our two dogs was a little hard for us. After going through many suggestions and profiles we found Justin. When we showed up to his place he took the time to get to know the dogs and showed us where they would be and his yard. They immediately took to him and couldn’t be happier. He wore out two high energy silver labs and sent us updates of how they were doing. Even on the second day when we dropped them off instead of chasing a squirrel they instantly went to Justin for another fun day. If you are ever in the area and need a sitter we definitely recommend Justin to take care of your fur babies and keep them happy.”

“Lance was absolutely amazing. Not only did my gigantic pup love him, but he was so fantastic to work with from the pet parent side. When my schedule went a little sideways, he was not only accommodating, but beyond gracious. If I find myself back in the area, I'll definitely look to rebook. Thank you, Lance, for everything!”

“Sarah is THE BEST dog sitter! Kind, considerate, detail oriented, great communicator. She took care of my pup Piper during the day for a few days while I was in town to watch a volleyball tournament, and I couldn't be happier with how it worked out. I really appreciated the status update text messages that Sarah sent from time to time, and it was abundantly clear from the pics she shared that Piper was totally comfortable and really enjoying her time there. Also -- a big shout out to Sarah's pup, Sully, for sharing his home and his mom with Piper for a few days! He was a great host and he & Piper got along very well. I would hire Sarah again in a heartbeat if/when we visit Spokane again!”

“Mimi and her family took such wonderful care of our Velzy girl! From the moment we met I felt at ease and so did our pup. Velzy had the best time with Chester and they got along great!Lovely home with the best backyard. We will MOST DEFINITELY be booking again and again and again. Highly recommended! Thank you Mimi + fam!!! 🧡”

“Excellent service. Heather is friendly and attentive to the puppies, she sent good update photos, she was able to accommodate one of my pups needing medication, and her property is a great and exciting landscape for walks. We would love to rebook with her in the future.”

“We left Jack with Haley & Audriana while visiting from out of town. He had a wonderful time! The house is nice and in a nice neighborhood with a comfortable, fenced back yard that offered shade on a hot day. We will definitely look them up when we come into town next time!”

“Cheryl was great. She suggested a meet and greet the evening before to make sure the pet sitting would work. Our visit put us at ease. Our pooch did great while we golfed the next two days visiting Spokane. I highly recommend Cheryl for your pet sitting needs.”

“Stitch loves spending time with Abigail and her family. So much so that he is in no hurry to leave when I pick him up. It makes me a little jealous but at the same time let’s me know that he enjoys his time with Abigail.”

“Lynda is just wonderful. So flexible, responsible and communicative. We have a high energy puppy, and Lynda always cares for her so well. Lynda is our go to for doggy day care for our pup. Would highly recommend!”

“Jennifer and David are very accommodating and caring. Our dog Bodhi was a little anxious that night (not his normal self) and they gave him the attention he needed.”

“Mandie is an absolute gem. My pup had never been away from me for long stretches but I recently needed a sitter quick for new in office days. Winston has so much fun while he’s there and comes home literally exhausted! And he’s not even super bummed when I drop him off. Mandie is now my go-to and I am so grateful to have found her!”

“Irina was AMAZING!! It was our pups first time staying with someone other than family so Lilly a little nervous, but thanks to Irina our pup had a great time. Irina was accommodating and had incredible communication. I can’t recommend her enough!!”

“Incredibly easy to coordinate with, and flexible with my changing plans. I was happy to hear Wilson had company during his stay and enjoyed getting a picture of him out on a walk with Irene. Would book again!”

“Our dog had a great time at Neila’s. We were in town for a ceremony at the base and needed doggy daycare. She was quick to respond and sent pictures of Baxter. We would highly recommend Neila.”

We came from out of town for a baseball tournament and found out dogs weren’t allowed at the field. We reached out to Georgia and she was able to watch our girl on short notice. She has a huge backyard and Toffee had so much fun. Georgia was also very easy to communicate with and gave us updates. I’d recommend her to anyone and will contact her next time we are in town!

Genevieve was a lifesaver and took Maeve in for a last minute doggie daycare request. She allowed us to see where Maeve would be hanging out and meet her other dogs. We got updates on how it was going and Maeve looked so happy! They took her on a hike & let her play in the water. Their home, with a large yard and doggie door, was the perfect fit for Maeve. And she was wiped out when she got home. We are so happy we found Genevieve!

Velma was wonderful! We were going to be in town for the weekend and needed a place for our pup one of the days. Velma was willing to video chat in order to have a “face to face” prior to setting the booking, since we are not in her local area. She was flexible as our schedule changed and was able to accommodate the change. She was great with our senior dog, and she really seems to care and enjoy her furry guests! We hope to be able to utilize her services again!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Spokane Valley commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
