“Rebecca was great with Loki and Brewer. She kept us up to date on their naps! They were both so much less stressed than boarding and I am so glad we had the opportunity to meet and have Rebecca here for a couple of days. Will definitely be calling her back if she can squeeze us in!”

“Shamra was the best person from Rover we have had watch our dogs yet! She was incredibly communicative and I know our pups' well-being was important to her. I felt very comfortable knowing she was with them while we were gone for the weekend. She was very respectful of our home as well!”

“Emma is great!! This was my first Rover experience and I was a little nervous going into it, but I completely trusted Emma with my pets. She provided my dog and cat with a lot of quality care, attention, and cuddles. She also was very accommodating with my schedule and communicated very well.”

About: From human babies to cats, bearded dragons and beyond, I'm excited to meet you and your pet! I've always loved animals, especially dogs, cats, and reptiles. Caring for your furry (and not so furry!) loved ones brings me lots of joy and is how I wish I could spend every day. I'm eager to please and find I'm available for daily drop ins for potty and feedings, or spending more time with your pet in the evenings while you work late. Also available for overnights up to a week, staying in your home so your animal is most comfy! I love taking relaxing walks and playing fetch, or playing in your fenced yard enjoying the warm weather. I can administer pills and monitor health conditions, and can provide physical assistance for small dogs and cats with mobility issues, like getting up and down furniture. I'm open and eager to learn administering other medication types if you are comfortable teaching! Anxious and shy pets warm to me easily, and so do senior dogs and cats! I have open availability during the summer months as I work for the school district. I want to spend my time loving and caring for your pet/s, so please let me know what your needs are and I'll do everything I can to make it work! After summer, I work part-time during the day, so I can stop by mid-morning to let dogs out to potty and play, and my evenings/weekends are open. I want to be best friends with your pet, so knowing their favorite treats and keeping their routine consistent is important to me. I promise to care for your baby like my own.
“Amanda was great! She knows animals and was very attentive to our pets, sending occasional pictures which reassured us everything was going well. Our time away was completely without worry! Wonderful experience!”

About: I’ve had dogs around me my whole life; from active labs to precocious cocker spaniels to mutts with needs, I’m happy to provide the care your pets need while you’re away. I’m flexible with all play styles and feeding habits, all while staying firm against begging for food we can’t have and keeping a close eye on problem behaviors such as digging or pillow ripping. I love all kinds of dogs, from hyperactive to couch potatoes, malamutes to chihuahuas, puppies to senior dogs. I’ll be sure to keep your fluffy friends entertained and well kept while you’re away! As for walking, I always strive to make sure your four legged friend has their share of exercise and fresh air. My time is currently open to weekdays from 6 am to 11 pm. I’m happy to check on your pets multiple times a day to keep up with their schedules, and am happy to follow plans as needed. I do my best to follow any instructions provided for your pet. I’m happy to play, take pets outside into yards or for walks in the neighborhood to get their energy out, feed them on their schedules, and visit multiple times a day to keep your pet happy and entertained. I have a preference for crate trained dogs, but for those more well-behaved, I have no qualms. As for cats, I’m happy to keep quiet and leave them to their own pace, letting myself be available to them while not invading their space.
“Monique did an amazing job with my two dogs, Annie and Oakley. Communications was great the entire time and it was so helpful in making me feel at ease while we were away. They went on great walks and loved their time with her. House was in perfect condition when we got home which is always nice. Thanks Monique!!!”

About: * Lifelong animal lover with 8+ years of pet sitting experience for friends, family, and referrals. * Proud dog mom to Rocky, my 7-year-old Golden Retriever, who has been by my side since he was 9 weeks old. * Experience caring for puppies, senior dogs, cats, chickens, and even a bearded dragon. * I work remotely, which allows me to provide plenty of supervision, companionship, walks, playtime, and attention throughout the day. * I only accept pets that are comfortable around large dogs and have a friendly, reliable temperament. Rocky’s safety and well-being are my top priority. * My goal is to treat every pet like family and give owners peace of mind while they’re away I work remotely Monday through Friday, so my day naturally revolves around making sure the pets in my care—including my own—get plenty of attention, companionship, potty breaks, exercise, and outdoor time. My routine typically includes walks before work, during lunch, and in the evening, with longer trail walks or adventures mixed in throughout the week. Because every pet is different, I tailor activities to their age, energy level, and individual needs. One of my favorite things about dogs is that they remind us to step away from our screens and enjoy the outdoors. Whether your pet loves adventure or prefers a more relaxed routine, they’ll receive plenty of care, attention, and love while they’re with me. Trust is everything when it comes to caring for someone’s pets. I’ve been with the same company for 9 years, and I bring that same reliability, integrity, and accountability to every pet I care for. As a Project Manager, I’m highly detail-oriented and comfortable following specific routines, medications, and care instructions. I know every pet is different, and I take the time to learn what helps them feel safe, comfortable, and happy. I genuinely love animals and don’t just “watch” pets—I enjoy spending time with them, keeping them engaged, active, and loved while you’re away. I mostly have dog sat at people’s homes. I do have a dog friendly apartment and would be open to select sittings in my home but it’s not fenced so there is less freedom that one would have in their own home.
“Vanessa is the best! She's has taken care of our 75lb anxious dog and house sat for us now several times for week long trips and it's so nice to know both are so well taken care of. She also grabs our mail and took care of my outside plants. Our dog loves her and we have complete ease of mind that's she's taking care of everything at home while we are out adventuring. Would highly recommend!”

“Kyle was GREAT! He took the best care of our dog and cat and house for the two weeks. We would absolutely use Kyle again. He will be the first one I ask next time we travel. Thank you Kyle, great job!”

“Our Family had a fairly long trip and did not want to put our dogs in a different location. Looking on Rover we found Phillip who responded right away. Our trip was through Thanksgiving and that was not a problem for him. He came over to meet our two dogs and they took to him right away. Received updates from him even though for us maybe a little more communication would have been nice but the over-all experience was really good. When we returned back from our trip and he dropped off our house key the dogs were so very excited to see him. Normally when we are gone and come back our dogs tend to not be themselves for a while. We got right back into things with them like we never left. Thanks for taking such good care of our girls.”

About: Hello, My name is Nikcole. I’ve been around animals my whole life, I was the little girl who always brought stray dogs home and talked my parents into letting us keep them. I currently own a 90lb Golden Retriever named StilestheGR and 2 cats Millie and Montana. I used to operate a dog rescue (the stray saver in me) for 5 years and am proud to say that our operation saved and rehomed over 500 dogs. I love all animals, I would say cats are on my intermediate list of knowledge and dogs are my specialty! My main focus on Rover is dog walking/hiking or even adventure outings but I also do drop-ins and house sitting. I do currently work full-time M-F and typically have early evenings and weekends available to my rover clients. I’m available M-F evenings and all day and night on weekends. I typically only need one day notice for bookings and 3 day notice for cancelations. My current capabilities are walking dogs and house sitting. I will following your instructions exactly as listed and provide updates as many times as you would like to give you peace of mind. I can also provide a list of personal references upon request.
“We couldn’t be happier with the care Julie provided for our three dogs. Her responsiveness to our emails and texts along with being very conscientious to our pets’ needs gave us peace of mind while we were away. The dogs were happy, healthy and most importantly, safe, when we returned home. We have already booked her for an upcoming trip. We highly recommend Julie if you want a responsible, caring pet sitter.”

“When Logan and Xena met Velma, it was ahroo at first sight! Because they are Shibas, this was impressive and we booked with her while we went on a week's vacation. Velma didn't dissappoint! She dropped Xena's eye on schedule and coaxed Logan into his nightly medication. Velma made sure the puppers were happy and cared for. When we arrived home, the house was neat and tidy, just like we left it. Velma will be Xena and Logan's friend furever.”

Jenny was great with my 2 dogs! She was always on time, great communication, and was very good with both my puppy and my more difficult adult male dog who is reactive on leash and can be mouthy. She is wonderful with my dogs and has been a repeat sitter and walker for me and I will continue to rehire her in the future!

I highly recommend Eowyn!! Eowyn took care of our anxious dog while we traveled. We came home to a calm and content dog, a clean home, and well watered plants! We received daily photo updates from Eowyn and when we saw our dog interact with Eowyn, Eowyn’s skill in understanding dogs and connecting with them was obvious. Our dog was licking Eowyns face within a few minutes of meeting Eowyn!!

I can’t say enough good things about Kaitlyn! From the very beginning, they were professional, kind, and clearly passionate about animals. My dogs Rose and Remi immediately felt comfortable with them, which put me at ease right away. Throughout the stay, Kaitlyn sent regular updates and photos, which I really appreciated. It was clear that my pups were getting plenty of love, exercise, and attention. They followed all my instructions carefully and even went the extra mile to make sure my pups felt comfortable. When I picked up my dog, he was relaxed, happy, and clearly had a great time. I feel so lucky to have found Kaitlyn—they’re trustworthy, responsive, and truly care about the dogs they look after. I’ll definitely be booking with them again in the future!

Taylor took great care of our three dogs on a holiday weekend! She was responsive and the pups enjoyed having her around, we are very grateful to her for allowing us a dog-free weekend with our family, which otherwise would have been very chaotic 😂 Thank you Taylor!

FAQs for House Sitting - Hutton Settlement
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Hutton Settlement on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 757 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hutton Settlement. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hutton Settlement walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hutton Settlement maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hutton Settlement choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hutton Settlement. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
