Rebecca did a great job as always (2 nd time watch) watching my 2 cats Colby and Jack. They are a little high maintenance, but she handles it with a smile. I really appreciate you being here for the boys and housesitting them. I could not ask for a better cat sitter!!!🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

Just came home to happy dogs and the house just the way we left it! Thank you for taking such great care of our dogs who hate being left alone. We got several photos throughout the week and it seemed the dogs were in great hands.

Love, love, love Emma! If you’re looking for an exceptional sitter for your furry friends, don’t think twice about reaching out to Emma. She is super responsive to messaging, followed up as she said she would, was on time for the meet and greet and was on time the day she was supposed to start. She sat in our home for 2 dogs and two cats for three days. She sent multiple pictures of the pets, fed them to schedule and we felt very comfortable while away. We will reach out to Emma every time we need a sitter!

Kyle was great! Our sitter canceled last minute and Kyle came to the rescue. The animals and house were well cared for. He watched a multitude of animals; cat, dogs, fish and lizard. All were happy and healthy upon our return and home was spotless. Definitely reach out to Kyle for your pet sitting needs!

MacKenzie was fantastic! We had a family member cancel with short notice for watching out 2 dogs and 3 cats for a week while we were going on vacation. I quickly hopped on Rover to see who was near us, and decided to message MacKenzie based on other reviews that had been left. She was quickly able to come over and meet our gang to make sure it would be a fit. After that initial meeting, my husband and I both felt very comfortable and confident with her coming to stay and take care of things while we were gone. The day we were supposed to leave, we ran into some issues but MacKenzie was flexible and fast to communicate. She was very punctual and sent brief updates/questions throughout the week (she has our preference on communication and we had told her we didn't need regular check ins or updates). When we got home, we could tell our dogs and cats had missed us, but it was also clear that they had been well taken care of. Overall, if and when I may need another house & pet sitter, I wouldn't hesitate to reach back out to MacKenzie and I won't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for help.

About: From human babies to cats, bearded dragons and beyond, I'm excited to meet you and your pet! I've always loved animals, especially dogs, cats, and reptiles. Caring for your furry (and not so furry!) loved ones brings me lots of joy and is how I wish I could spend every day. I'm eager to please and find I'm available for daily drop ins for potty and feedings, or spending more time with your pet in the evenings while you work late. Also available for overnights up to a week, staying in your home so your animal is most comfy! I love taking relaxing walks and playing fetch, or playing in your fenced yard enjoying the warm weather. I can administer pills and monitor health conditions, and can provide physical assistance for small dogs and cats with mobility issues, like getting up and down furniture. I'm open and eager to learn administering other medication types if you are comfortable teaching! Anxious and shy pets warm to me easily, and so do senior dogs and cats! I have open availability during the summer months as I work for the school district. I want to spend my time loving and caring for your pet/s, so please let me know what your needs are and I'll do everything I can to make it work! After summer, I work part-time during the day, so I can stop by mid-morning to let dogs out to potty and play, and my evenings/weekends are open. I want to be best friends with your pet, so knowing their favorite treats and keeping their routine consistent is important to me. I promise to care for your baby like my own.

First experience with Rover and we are so pleased to have had Sean watch our two pups! Our 80 lb girl is standoffish, but she immediately went to Sean and followed him around. Our 100lb boy immediately claimed Sean as his best friend. Sean was very good about keeping in contact and sharing pictures. He spent a lot of time playing outdoors and giving them quality time indoors. Working from home allowed Sean to stay and that was very important to us. We found Sean to be a warm and compassionate person and absolutely the best person for us! If you want the best for your pets you need Sean! We are very grateful to have met him!

Rosemary was very sweet and incredibly thorough when asking questions during our original meetup. That made me feel assured she was going to take great care of our pups, which she did! She stayed at our house while we were gone and took great care of that too. You couldn't even tell she was there! Her communication was great and we felt we could enjoy our time away without worrying. I would highly recommend her and plan to rebook when needed in the future. ☺️

Suzy was an exceptional kitten sitter. During her week-long stay at our home, she maintained everything and left our home just as she found it. I loved receiving the daily updates and photos of Lila while we were away. Upon returning, we found a happy and healthy kitten, thanks to Suzy's attentive care. Without a doubt, she will be our go-to sitter in the future! 😺

Vanessa is the best! She's has taken care of our 75lb anxious dog and house sat for us now several times for week long trips and it's so nice to know both are so well taken care of. She also grabs our mail and took care of my outside plants. Our dog loves her and we have complete ease of mind that's she's taking care of everything at home while we are out adventuring. Would highly recommend!

About: Hi! My name is Sarah. I am a farm kid originally from the West Coast. I've grown up around animals and taken care of them my whole life. From horses, cattle, and dogs to chickens, cats, and reptiles -- I've had and taken care of them all! I've worked professionally in agriculture for over 8 years now and have been trusted to housesit and care for both family pets and livestock. I have also worked previously at a veterinarian assistant. I am a career beekeeper and farmer at heart. Currently I have no pets of my own, as I just lost my chocolate lab, Moose. But, I am a part of an endurance horseback racing team! I work part time early in the mornings and bartend on the weekends. I am available in the evenings on weekdays and weekends with notice. I am very active and am able to walk/run long distances with pets who need ample amounts of exercise. I also have my own reliable transportation to come to you!

Our Family had a fairly long trip and did not want to put our dogs in a different location. Looking on Rover we found Phillip who responded right away. Our trip was through Thanksgiving and that was not a problem for him. He came over to meet our two dogs and they took to him right away. Received updates from him even though for us maybe a little more communication would have been nice but the over-all experience was really good. When we returned back from our trip and he dropped off our house key the dogs were so very excited to see him. Normally when we are gone and come back our dogs tend to not be themselves for a while. We got right back into things with them like we never left. Thanks for taking such good care of our girls.

When you're away you want your pet to be taken care of how you would care for them, and Velma is as close to that as I can get! She is very communicative, letting me know when she arrives, and sends daily updates on how the pups did. I definitely will hire her again.

FAQs for House Sitting - Peone

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Peone on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 764 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Peone. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Peone walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Peone maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Peone choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Peone. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
