“Rebecca was great with Loki and Brewer. She kept us up to date on their naps! They were both so much less stressed than boarding and I am so glad we had the opportunity to meet and have Rebecca here for a couple of days. Will definitely be calling her back if she can squeeze us in!”

“Morgan watched our 3 dogs and 1 cat, which was no easy feat, and she made it look easy. Not only is she trustworthy and kind, the animals loved her and she sent photo updates while we were on vacation. To have no stress while out of town and our babies looked after so well is priceless. She is now our regular sitter :)”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care Julie provided for our three dogs. Her responsiveness to our emails and texts along with being very conscientious to our pets’ needs gave us peace of mind while we were away. The dogs were happy, healthy and most importantly, safe, when we returned home. We have already booked her for an upcoming trip. We highly recommend Julie if you want a responsible, caring pet sitter.”

“Macie was hired to look after my geriatric cat and young dog. She did an amazing job with both, especially my cat who needs a lot of care. My house was left very clean, which I also appreciated. I would hire Macie again without hesitation. I highly recommend her!”

“Thank you so much for the peace of mind while I was away from my fur babies!! They were so well cared they hardly missed me! Timmy loved the walks and cuddles 🥰 and Olivia seemed to enjoy the fireplace with you! See you again soon”
“So so happy I found Jocelyn. My cat, Ezra, is basically a dog when it comes to being needy and wanting attention. He’s also incredibly picky with people. Jocelyn went above and beyond in taking care of Ezra, with doing a preliminary meet and greet, rearranging her work schedule, sending picture/video updates, and so much more. I came home to a very happy cat and spotless home (cleaner than I left it!). Your fur baby is in good hands with Jocelyn.”

“Shamra was the best person from Rover we have had watch our dogs yet! She was incredibly communicative and I know our pups' well-being was important to her. I felt very comfortable knowing she was with them while we were gone for the weekend. She was very respectful of our home as well!”

About: I won't just treat them as a "pet" I treat all animals as family. I have taken care of various dog and cats from family members and friends since I was a child. This included staying over, walking, feeding, training and playing. At the moment I am pursuing schooling for dog training so I have open availability for walks and drop ins! I usually ask for a days notice but it never hurts to ask. I have had experience with larger dogs (German shepherds, Great Pyerenese, Pitbulls and Saint Bernards) as well as small dogs (Chihuahua's, Shih Tzu and Dachshunds). I also provide baths and nail trimming when asked. I enjoy running too so if your looking to get your dog in shape! For pets coming to my house they must be crate trained (for when I sleep) and friendly with other dogs.
“Except for the fact that our dogs were happy to see us, you wouldn’t know that we had ever left. Everything was neat as a pin and the dogs seemed quite content. Carla had good communication and was very professional. I would highly recommend her.”

“Nazeerah and Nick were fantastic sitters! They were super caring with our pets, sent us tons of pictures, and were absolute stars when it came to administering difficult medication. They left our house perfectly in the way we left it too! Highly recommend!”
“Vanessa is the best! She's has taken care of our 75lb anxious dog and house sat for us now several times for week long trips and it's so nice to know both are so well taken care of. She also grabs our mail and took care of my outside plants. Our dog loves her and we have complete ease of mind that's she's taking care of everything at home while we are out adventuring. Would highly recommend!”

“We had a wonderful experience leaving our super anxious poodle mix with Betty! She was so patient and took great care of our pets and home. We look forward to booking her again :)”

“Ryan was absolutely amazing! We left our dog for 10 days for the first time and I think our dog had a better vacation than we did. He took him to the park and on walks all the time. My dog is also only 8 month and has a lot of energy and Ryan was great at keeping him happy and healthy. 10/10 would hire him everytime.”

“she was amazing!! had a great meet and greet, updated us while we were gone, and left a thank you note as we left a ‘welcome’ note. it was a place having her watching our pet kids and we are looking forward to her next visit with us :)”

“Lauren was amazing with our dogs and kitty and took excellent care of them and our home! She is dependable, caring, and an excellent communicator. We definitely look forward to hiring Lauren again!”

We had a wonderful experience with Jessalyn and would book with her again. She took amazing care of our dog, kept us updated, sent lots of pictures and videos which was so fun to see, and went above and beyond to make sure he was happy and comfortable. She even gave him baths before we got home and vacuumed everything up afterward, which was such a thoughtful touch and so appreciated. It was clear she genuinely cared for him which is so nice to see when we are out on a trip. We're so grateful for the excellent care and attention she provided. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable dog sitter!

Bryce was absolutely amazing! He took great care of our dog and home while we were out of town for a week. Bryce was very diligent to make sure that our dog followed his regular routine like walks, feeding schedule, etc. My partner and I greatly appreciate the respect he had for our home and the love he showed our dog. We would absolutely recommend Bryce and will certainly book with him again in the future.

Jenny was great with my 2 dogs! She was always on time, great communication, and was very good with both my puppy and my more difficult adult male dog who is reactive on leash and can be mouthy. She is wonderful with my dogs and has been a repeat sitter and walker for me and I will continue to rehire her in the future!

I am so grateful for Kimarie. She was amazing with my two senior dogs Lulu and Ruby. If I couldn’t be with them, I would choose Kimarie to care for them. I highly recommend Kimarie to anyone looking for a responsible dog/house sitter that you can completely trust! Much thanks to Kimarie!

We just moved to Spokane and we have a Chihuahua and a German Shepherd/Belgium. Addison followed all of our instructions and informed us about a potty accident and cleaned it. Which we were really thankful for. Addison, is transparent and honest about what goes on with the dogs and that gave me comfort, knowing that we could trust her.

Kathy was so great with my fur babies! Constant attention, love, ball throwing, more attention and when I ran out of the dogs bougie rice appetizer , she made him more. They were well loved and taken care of while I was gone. House looked great when I got back! Couldn’t be happier

I highly recommend Eowyn!! Eowyn took care of our anxious dog while we traveled. We came home to a calm and content dog, a clean home, and well watered plants! We received daily photo updates from Eowyn and when we saw our dog interact with Eowyn, Eowyn’s skill in understanding dogs and connecting with them was obvious. Our dog was licking Eowyns face within a few minutes of meeting Eowyn!!

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Opportunity walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Opportunity maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Opportunity choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
