âMellanie was great! I was so worried having to go on a work trip after a forced move due to a building fire but she navigated the mess and clutter so wonderfully to help give Mimi all the attention she could need. Highly recommend!!â

âPatricia was an incredible sitter for my two cats, Kimchi and Bumi! Her communication was clear, prompt, and consistent throughout the stay, I always felt in the loop. She was flexible with a few last-minute changes, which I really appreciated. But what truly stood out was how thoughtful she was: with a major back injury, I couldnât manage the litter or trash, and she kindly took care of both without hesitation. Her support made it possible for me to actually enjoy my trip without worry. Highly recommend Patricia, your pets (and you) will be in great hands!â

âKat was Great! Our pups took an immediate liking to her and she was able to keep up with them the whole week that we were gone. She was very attentive and went over and above the call of duty when it came to walks in colder weather. Kat was also very respectful of our home and upon our return everything was as we left it. Our pups love Kat and we will rebook with her soon. We highly recommend Kat!â

âNicole was the absolute best with your boy Chico. He need alot of specialized attention and is reactive with other dogs and she navigated everything like a pro. She left our home spotless and was so respectful while staying. We got so many pictures and updates - it was the first trip I had where I didnât have anxiety about how Chico was doing. She even trimmed his nails and got him a bandana - canât say enough great things. Will 1000% book with Nicole againâ

âAnna was sweet and kind. She stopped by for a house visit, do a meet-and-greet, and chat. She was absolutely the right person and will use her again. She kept in touch, sent photos, asked questions if she needed anything, which was rare because she had everything absolutely under control. Do not hesitate to hire Anna!â

âJessica was great with watching our 5 month old puppy. She was communicative and did a great job adapting to his behavior. Would not hesitate to work with her again!â

About: I am aware of petsâ needs. Whether they need a slow, assisted stroll or an energetic play session, Iâve got you covered. I have vast experience in caring for mobility-impaired seniors (including administering meds and using lifting harnesses), reactive dogs, as well as puppies who need active socialization and clear boundaries. From personal experience, I have 3 dogs of my own (including an 11 year old senior) and I recognize each pet as an individual with differing personalities and needs. Working part-time from home gives me the flexibility to be there when your pet needs me most. I can easily shift my working hours to accommodate specific walk times or multiple drop-ins throughout the day, ensuring your pet stays on their preferred schedule. Before every stay, I conduct a thorough meet and greet to understand your pet's routine and your home's security needs (alarms, locks, and gates). While in your home, I am extremely detail-oriented and will be sure to keep your pet and home safe. I am a non-smoker, clean, and respectful guest. You can expect daily photo updates and quick communication so you can relax knowing your fur babies and your home are in safe hands.
âFor a first time Rover user, I was a bit nervous to have someone stay at my home as well as look after my little buddy. With in the first 5 minutes of speaking with Jade, my nerves were completely gone. She is kind, soft spoken and professional. My condo was perfect when I returned and my boy blue (who struggles with anxiety) was happy and wondering where his new friend went! Thank you, Jade. I will be going with her again!â

âDiane was such a blessing. She has a really sweet and caring demeanor and we knew right away she was the right sitter to watch our fur babies. In our week long trip she took great care of our home and 2 dogs and kept in touch throughout our trip. We feel relieved to have found her and will definitely rebook with her. Thank you Diane!!â

âSteven was wonderful with Henry! He took the time to make Henry feel safe and comfortable around someone new. Steven asked great questions and took things slow until Henry was ready. Steven clearly has a love and passion for all animals! We canât wait to have Steven come back again.â

âBrianna is great! She took amazing care of our pup, Bear. She went the extra mile all throughout - starting with a meet and greet to taking Bear on long walks and adventures. Anyone would be lucky to work with her!â

âMairead is an amazing sitter. She took such great care of my dog who had just gotten diagnosed with cancer. Another sitter cancelled on me with 18 hoursâ notice. I reached out to Mairead and she swooped in like Superman. I couldnât be more grateful. She was diligent and communicative. Look no further than Mairead for all your sitting needs.â

âSarah was a fantastic house and dog sitter! She was quick to respond, sent pictures and videos of our little one, and helped do other tasks around the house as well while we were gone. We would happily have her care for our dog again when we are out of town!â

âDom was great with Rani and made us feel comfortable leaving her for the weekend! She sent daily updates and made sure to adhere to the guidelines we had for her. Dom was clean, prompt, and communicative - would definitely work with her again!â

âAndrea was amazing with my two spoiled babies. I had just moved, and was nervous about leaving them in new surroundings. Andrea took great care of them and I was so relieved to have her. She stayed in communication with me the whole time with pictures and updates, and when I returned home, they were relaxed and content. I will definitely be requesting Andrea again. Absolutely amazing!â

âCristian is great. He is very caring and responsible. He took care of our two dogs very well. They love him. One of our dogs didnât eat well and Cristian made sure he ate his meal. We had meet and great and Cristian took his time to pick up keys and go over the care instructions with us. He sent videos everyday and kept us update when he headed out to walk the dogs. We felt very peaceful during our trip knowing that our babies were in great care. Thank you!â

âVitaliia is so great with my puppy Hazel! This was my first time leaving her overnight with someone, but knowing the care Vitaliia takes for watching her and given her strong communication, I felt much less anxious with leaving her. Hazel was sad to see her leave, and Iâll definitely be booking again!â

âPerniall did a great job taking care of Miss Bean. He was attentive to her special needs and followed her care instructions closely, which really helped me feel at ease while I was away. I appreciated the updates and the thoughtful attention he gave her. Iâd definitely recommend him, especially for pets who need a little extra care.â

About: Hola! Iâm Barbaraâan economic justice advocate, Red Cross volunteer, and total bonafide Dog Mom. I grew up surrounded by German Shepherds, but as an adult, I fell in love with the little onesâstarting with my very first Shih Tzu, who looked more like an Ewok than a dire wolf! For over 20 years, Iâve been the go-to pet sitter for neighbors, friends, and family. Iâve walked and cared for cats and dogs of all ages and sizes, from playful puppies to seniors needing a little extra TLC. In 2020, my life changed when I adopted a special-needs Shih Tzu named Chewy, who has a rare condition called Megaesophagus and eats upright in a âBailey chair.â Chewyâs thriving journey has been such a giftâand weâve shared it with a supportive community through his Instagram Now that Chewy is doing great, weâve been hosting more furry friends and officially joined Rover to offer personalized, loving care to other petsâespecially small to medium dogs. I work remotely, so Iâm home most of the day and love having a companion to walk, cuddle, and care for. â We only care for one householdâs pets at a timeâso your dog(s) will get all the attention â Calm, flexible, and experienced with both healthy pets and those with medical or mobility needs â Fully covered with Pet Sitter Insurance for your peace of mind â Letâs set up a Meet & Greet to see if weâre the right fit! Whether youâre going out of town or just need a reliable sitter, Chewy and I are ready to make your dog feel right at home. I work from home full-time, which means your furry little one will get plenty of attention throughout the day. I have the flexibility to take them on walks, enjoy playtime like fetch or tug-of-war, and give them the love and companionship they needâwhether itâs a quick potty break or a full day of care. Whether Iâm caring for your pet in my home or yours, their safety and comfort are my top priorities. I follow any instructions you provide closelyâfeeding schedules, medications, preferred routines, and behavior notes are all part of the care plan. I also keep your pet's environment calm, clean, and cozy, just like you'd want it to be. In my home, I care for only one householdâs pets at a time to make sure your dog gets plenty of one-on-one attention. I supervise all outdoor time and never allow off-leash play unless in a securely fenced area. I also have Pet Sitter Insurance for added peace of mind. If Iâm visiting your home, I treat your space with the same respect and care I give your petâdouble-checking doors, cleaning up, and keeping things tidy and secure. And if anything seems off while you're away, Iâll keep you informed right away.
South Lawndale pet parents share their Rover experiences
This was our first booking with Cristian and weâll definitely be booking with him again. He was in regular communication with us, sent great pictures, and genuinely seemed to enjoy his time with Gus. Most importantly, Gus seemed to be just fine without us! House was intact and the dog was safe. Cristian treats the responsibility very seriously and I had no concerns for Gus while we were gone.

Ana was amazing with our two small dogs! She was super communicative and punctual, and we always felt confident that our pups were in great hands. She gave regular updates and made sure they were happy and comfortable the whole time. Weâd definitely book with her again!
Vanessa is amazing. I just adopted a rescue two days prior and had separation anxiety, as did I. She also had a seizure condition si so it was so comforting to have someone who knew what was had to be done in case of an emergency. Vanessa put Olivia at ease. She sent me pictures throughout the night. Olivia even followed her to the door when sheleft. She asked such good questions at the start of the night about the emergency syringe and ER if needed. Feel so grateful for her. Highly recommend!

I wish I could give her more than 5 stars. Paige is amazing with making sure the dogs were cared for and loved while we were gone. She sent many updates and made sure I knew how they were doing. I absolutely would recommend Paige to anyone that needs pet sitting services

From the beginning when we connected with Ernesto & he agreed to house sit for Marx & we met him I felt secure in choosing him. He's a very responsible sitter who took care of Marx in a way that I appreciate. Marx grew attached & trusted him. The photos & videos helped in making me feel secure my doggy Marx was being cared for. I would certainly have him as a house sitter in the future if needed & highly recommend him to anyone who needs a wonderful sitter for your pet.

Kenya was great with Kahlua! She followed her care instructions to a T and sent consistent updates on how her walks and meals went. Kenya dog sat over July 4th weekend, so she also made sure that Kahlua was comfortable and safe while there were fireworks going off.
