About: From a young age, I've had a special bond with dogs. My parents took in neighborhood samoyeds and newfoundlands that had been abandoned by their owners. I grew up with them, trained them, did my best to make sure their home was loving. Since my neighbors knew I was good with large dogs, I frequently dog sat for them. I quickly became an expert in leash technique, engaging play, making sure they were fed right, and just plain being there for them. I don't have any dogs right now (my apartment is way too small) but I know I'll meet that special fluffy guy when I get a bigger place. I'm available nearly all the time, as I'm not currently working and am only doing occasional volunteering in the Bitter Lake/Greenwood/Shoreline area. I have the availability of a tireless assistant! I believe in respecting a dog's boundries while also being very mindful of their needs. From years of experience I've learned to find the proper balance and give the dog the best experience possible.
“Luis is a trustworthy, respectful, and very easy going. Both Carnitas and Nacho took to his energy right away. Luis has given us peace of mind during our family vacation. We highly recommend Luis to take care of your purr babies.”

“Very reliable and she stepped up last minute and helped a lot! She was very thorough with instructions and gave me all the updates which I was very appreciative of. Definitely recommend!!”

About: I promise I won't overfeed your cat the way five-year-old me overfed mine! I grew up with a dog and a cat in our home at all times. While I mostly took on the play duties with the pets, I began my cat-sitting journey in elementary school watching my neighbors' cats when they were away. Over the past decade and a half, I have dropped in for cat visits, cat sat, and had countless playdates. My favorite thing to do with cats is to sun lounge together and give them lots of rubs. I have cared for up to two animals at a time which I feel most comfortable and confident in! I have no pets in my home, creating a safe space for your cat to make themselves comfortable. I'm not afraid to pull up my sleeves and take care of sh*t (literally!) I loooove taking pictures and will always share pics with your little babies, maybe even a little photo shoot :)

About: I've had cats in and out of the home as long as I can remember. During my time as a professional pet sitter I cleaned at least 3 litter box a day every day for 5 years! So trust I will get the job done. I also have ample experience delivering medicine through food, orally and intravenously as well as cat CPR.
“Joselin was so kind and responsive. He took care of my sweet baby cat for two days very well. She is so communicative! She sent a lot of photos and videos of my cat. Highly recommended.”

He’s a biggg leash puller and he also is always excited to meet others! I can say that I have definitely experienced a dog that is a little more difficult to walk therefore I am equipped to handle any dog! I have also dog sat for a wonderful older dog! I currently work part time and I am always available afternoons, and most mornings! My schedule does change sometimes but I 100% am free every Tuesday! I have a 2 bedroom apartment with a large enclosed courtyard outside! I have one sweet dog who is crate trained and sleeps in a crate a night and when I’m away. Since I have a second bedroom that is completely free I can easily place any dog in a different room for their own space and quiet time! We have many toys and a large living room and we play all day!

About: I have over 5 years of experience caring for dogs and around 4 years of experience caring for cats. I’ve cared for pets with different personalities, routines, and energy levels, and I always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I also have personal experience caring for my own kitten, who I adopted about a month ago. Taking care of her has helped me become even more attentive to daily pet care routines, including feeding, playtime, grooming, and maintaining a clean environment. I deep clean her litter box weekly and make sure she has a safe, happy, and healthy space. In addition, I’ve helped babysit and care for my uncle’s cat for around 3 years, giving me even more hands-on experience with cats and their unique needs and behaviors. Along with dogs and cats, I also have experience caring for turtles, hamsters, and guinea pigs, so I’m comfortable caring for a variety of animals and understanding their specific needs. Friends and family trust me because I’m dependable, patient, and genuinely love animals. I treat every pet like family and always aim to provide a stress-free and loving experience for both pets and owners. I also provide regular photo and video updates so pet parents can feel reassured while they’re away.

She was very communicative, made sure to have full understanding of his care, and gave him lots of love! From the moment I dropped him off, I can tell she really cares about the pets she and her daughter care for, when I picked Echo up at the end of the day, he was so sad to leave! I’ll definitely be booking with Ashley again! :)”

I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy sitter.”

I would definitely recommend Gabriel and would love for him to continue sitting for us in the future.”

About: I have been a pet owner for over 20 years, so caring for animals has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have helped raise, train, exercise, and comfort dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I was also a cat owner for over a decade, which gave me experience with pets who have very different personalities, routines, and comfort levels. My family has been pet sitting for nearly 10 years, and I helped with a lot of that care over the years. Through that, I learned how important it is to be reliable, patient, and attentive to each pet’s needs. Now that I am on my own, I am excited to start offering pet care myself and to provide pets with the same kind of safe, loving care I would want for my own animals. I am a teacher, but I am currently on summer break, so my schedule is very open and flexible. I have plenty of availability during the day, evenings, and weekends, while still being dependable and consistent with the care I provide. I am able to work around each pet’s routine and make sure they get the attention, exercise, and care they need. In my home, pets will have a safe, clean, and comfortable space to relax and feel cared for. I live in a large 3-bedroom apartment with secure doors that create natural barriers throughout the apartment, which makes it easy to separate spaces when needed or help a pet feel more comfortable. There are no other pets in the home, so your pet will receive my full attention without having to adjust to unfamiliar animals. One of the best parts of my home is the fully fenced-in backyard. There is plenty of space for dogs to run around, play, use the bathroom, or just stretch their legs safely. I can provide walks, playtime, feeding, water, comfort, and supervision based on each pet’s normal routine. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to follow the owner’s instructions closely so the pet can stay on their usual schedule. I know how important consistency is, so I pay attention to feeding times, walks, medication instructions, favorite toys, comfort needs, and any house rules. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for whether they are in my home or their own. Please note, I only sit pets from 1 household at a time - that way your pet(s) get all of my attention!
About: I have experience working for the company Dogs deserve it and also working for independent pet sitters. I've walked dogs of all kinds and cat sitting. I am single and only have a daily morning job, so I have extra time to earn some money on the side doing what I love best. Currently, I have no pets of my own, but I have experience following instructions provided by owners to care for their pets as they prefer. This also allows me to focus on the fur babies I look after 😊.
“Gaby was great! Gaby has been walking my puppy for a few weeks now and she loves her! We thought we would try day care with Gaby and it was perfect for her. Gaby was very accommodating and able to keep my puppy a bit longer since I was delayed.”

“Yasmine was wonderful with my very energetic dog. Her own dog is well-behaved and serves as a great role model for other dogs. When my dog came home, he was happy, tired, and completely content, a clear sign that he had a fantastic time. She lives close to a large dog park where dogs can run, play, and burn off their energy while having the time of their lives. I feel completely comfortable leaving my dog with Yasmine and plan to do so regularly. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter and excellent company for their dog.”

“Timothy is our puppy’s favorite sitter (and ours too!). It’s clear he really understands and empathizes with dogs of all ages and sizes. We’ve had multiple stays at Timothy’s place, and every time our dog comes home happy, well-cared for and occasionally having made new dog friends! We especially appreciate the way he handles our rambunctious labrador puppy- calm, kind, and confident. It’s such a relief knowing she’s in good hands. We’re grateful to have found him, highly recommend!”

About: Hi! My name is Monica and I recently graduated from Indiana University. I’ve grown up around animals my entire life, so caring for them has always come naturally to me. While I was in college, I fostered through local animal shelters, which gave me experience caring for animals with all different personalities, ages, and needs. I’m also currently a volunteer at the Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago, where I help care for animals and support the shelter. I work from home, so I’m able to give pets a lot of attention throughout the day. Your pet will never be left alone for long. My dad is also recently retired and home most of the time, so there’s always someone around to give extra attention, playtime, and care. I have a small Yorkie named Tucker and a cat named Penny. They’re both very friendly and used to being around other animals. Tucker is great at matching other dogs’ energy (whether they want to play or relax), and Penny is very calm and tends to mind her own business. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping your pet company, I treat every animal like they’re part of the family. I’d love the opportunity to care for your pet and make sure they feel safe, happy, and comfortable while you’re away! I recently graduated from Indiana University and am now back home in Chicago full-time. My dad is retired and home all day, and I spend most of my time at home too, so your pet will always have company and attention. I’m not super busy and genuinely love being around animals — it’s the perfect setup! I have a private, fully fenced yard and never let pets outside without supervision. My home is spacious, and pets are welcome to relax anywhere they’d like. I also have a 2-year-old, 4.5-pound Yorkie who mostly keeps to himself but is always up for a little playtime if your pet wants a buddy! I’m happy to crate your dog at night if you prefer, or they’re welcome to sleep with me — I’d love that too!

“Monica and Calvin were wonderful dog-sitters for our one-year-old frenchton. Thankfully, they met with us in advanced to make sure that we and our puppy would be comfortable with them and vice versa. They sent multiple status updates during the day including photos and even suggested ways of helping our puppy relieve with his digestion issues. Overall, they were excellent and we will definitely rebook them in the future.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs (small mostly) since I was 11. I grew up with two chihuahuas and am currently fully in love with my mom’s current weenie dog. I’ve fostered 3 small/medium dogs in the past 2 years and am trusted with my friends and families dogs for walking and sitting. I work from home Mondays and Fridays and am usually home most weekends (unless I’m traveling). I’m able to be home with the dog and take on walks for most of the day. I live less than a block from Harrison Park, so I will be able to take the dog for a walk and some exercise daily. I also happy to lounge on the couch and bed with the dog if they need plenty of company and rest. Dogs are little fur babies to me and they will be the royalty in the home. Be prepared for many pictures.

About: I am an educator by training. I am looking for extra work during the summer and school year away from the classroom. I dog and cat sat and dog walked throughout college for four years. I cared for a 15-year-old labrapoodle and I cared for a 7-year-old bordie collie for a combined 5 years. I took them on daily walks, fed them according to a strict meal regimen, and made sure they were safe. The 15-year-old dog had health issues so I have experience in responding to health crisis with elderly dogs and know how to respond in case of an emergency. I am willing to commute, but have limited availability with overnight visits as I have a 19 month old and 7 month old at home.I also have experience with cats! I personally have four cats (ages 2,2, 2, and 4) who I love dearly. I’m able to administer medicine, feed, and care for all breeds and ages of cats. “Cristian is great! We needed some help with lunchtime walks 3x a week for a couple months after a foot surgery, and we feel so lucky to have found Cristian. He is super communicative, took great pics every visit, and wrote up thorough notes about our girl. He is super patient with our high energy girl, and would even jog with her on some days to tire her out! We highly recommend Cristian and will definitely be reaching out to him in the future when we need a dogwalker!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 13, mainly my own, but I’ve also taken care of friend’s and family friend’s dogs in these past 3 years, so I understand the anxiety or fear of leaving a part of your family in the care of someone that isn’t you and won’t treat your pet like you will. That’s why I always adjust and accommodate my services to every pet’s needs. When it comes to basic care of pets, I always take puppies and dogs on walks at whichever time of day that they need to go out, always making sure to bring snacks and water so they always stay hydrated and healthy. I make sure they have enough playtime inside and outside so they don’t get bored and are entertained. I understand that not every dog wants to play or can’t move too much, so I of course adjust these activities to accommodate every pet’s individual needs so they’re always comfortable and happy. I also have experience with senior care, specifically giving dogs the medicines they need at the intended hours of the day or night. It goes without saying that my main priority are the pets in my care so I also make sure to always check up on every pet at different hours and times, rarely leaving them out of my sight (while also keeping my distance if they’re resting) to ensure they’re always okay. I work part-time remotely since I finished university in March of 2024. So I have no issues with times and days that will work best for you and your pets! I care for pets in client’s homes by making sure they’re never missing anything, from food, water, toys, time to go to the bathroom, medicines if they take them, etc… I make sure pets understand I’m simply there as an aid for them and someone they can play with if they choose to! I’m simply there to ensure every pet is taken care of while also having time to play and give them their space, after all, it’s their home and they need to feel the most comfortable and safe in their own space.
“Leila is fabulous! We need a last second walk for our pups. She came to our house to get the pups. Our friend that was there earlier in the day left the leashes in the wrong place and Leila was patient enough to search for them. It delayed her walk quite a bit but she didn’t shorten their walk. She took great care of our pups and gave them treats. Her report was thorough and detailed, which helped alleviate any worry I had for our pups. Thanks Leila!”

About: My life is centered around cats and dogs. I currently run and host an independent catch shelter from home. We have a completely separate unit to host on board Your cat or dog at any given time. We also count with a fenced in yard. Where they get to hang out and play on beautiful days. I eat, live, breathe pet care. It's what I do on a daily basis with over fifty one cats and three dogs in our facility, that is truly what I am passionate about. And do it all day. Besides having a fenced in yard, every part of our space has their safety and security in mind, Above all. From protocols in place to introduce New pets to the space so they can be comfortable, to separate spaces that accommodate your pets away from the rest of the population and systems to ensure the pets wellbeing above all.
About: Hi! I’m a recent college grad in Chicago who loves dogs and spending time outside, going on walks, and getting to know each dog’s personality. I’ve taken classes on animal care and behavior, and I have hands-on experience with both my own pets and shelter animals—so I’m comfortable with all kinds of dogs, from high-energy to more laid-back. I’m patient, attentive, and adjust to what your dog needs. Whether that’s long walks, playtime, or just hanging out and keeping them company, I want them to feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. Working with shelter animals has taught me how to read body language and build trust, so I’m especially mindful of each dog’s boundaries and energy level. I’ll keep you updated so you always know how your dog is doing, and I’ll treat your home with care and respect. I’d love to help make your time away stress-free for both you and your dog 🐶💛 I work full-time, but I make pet care a priority in my weekly schedule. I’m typically available on weekends and can accommodate evening visits after work for check-ins or walks. I’m happy to coordinate a routine that ensures your pet receives consistent, reliable care throughout the week. I provide attentive, safety-focused care in every home I enter, with a strong emphasis on maintaining routine and minimizing stress for pets. I carefully follow all client instructions to ensure consistency in feeding, enrichment, and daily care. I keep the environment clean, calm, and secure at all times: monitoring doors, windows, and potential hazards while ensuring food, water, and litter areas are properly maintained. My background in animal care classes, shelter experience, and hands-on work with my own pets has trained me to recognize subtle changes in behavior and respond appropriately. I approach each pet with patience and awareness of their individual comfort level, especially those who may be shy or sensitive. I also pay close attention to behavior and body language so I can respond appropriately and keep pets safe and comfortable at all times. I treat every home with respect, keep communication open with updates, and make sure you feel confident your pet is in responsible, attentive care.

“Had such a great first experience on Rover booking with Kyla! My dog is a newer foster fail so i didn’t have too much knowledge of how she would be while we were away but Kyla kept me informed every day. She even went the extra mile when my dog got sick and took care of her better than i could have expected. Will definitely book again!”

“This was Chase's second time with Ashley and it was just as good as the first! She is very attentive and sends plenty of pictures. She put a medicated foam in his itchy spots twice per day. And chase got plenty of play time and attention. Highly recommend booking with Ashley!”

“Angel is a great communicator. He takes such good care of my old pup. He find inventive things for her to do, to make her comfortable, and even encourage her to eat! So thankful for him!”

“Lesslie took great care of pup! I can tell that my dog really enjoys being with Lesslie and her family because she never wants to leave when I go to pick her up. She makes sure to provide timely updates and very communicative throughout the entire dog sitting process. Will definitely continue to book with her again.”

“Tim is a great guy who is amazing with animals. He provided pictures and updates every day. My dog did not even want to leave. He obviously provided great care and was very flexible with my schedule for pick up and drop off. I really appreciate his dedication and genuine love of animals.”

“I am very grateful. Akon spent 7 days with Michael and returned very happy and well cared for. He kept me updated every day by sending me photos and videos. Thank you for taking such good care of him.”

“Fantastic job caring for Tipo during the winter storm. Ensured that his booties and coat were on for his walk. Played with him to get some of his energy out. Sent pics and updates daily during our two week stay.”

“Fortino was amazing! My dog is pretty high energy and I could tell he was having a great time. Fortino sent regular updates and he took my dog on lots of fun excursions with his own dog. He was very communicative and I could tell he paid close attention to details of my dog’s comfort, personality, etc. He even gave my dog a sweater that previously belonged to his dog but was too small, which was very sweet. Will definitely board with him again.”

“Jennifer’s care was awesome. She consistently updated me on my pup’s wellbeing with photos and videos. My pup had a great time and I have already booked a return stay with her! I highly recommend.”

“Jasmine was amazing to work with. We have an elderly dog who needs gentle care and Jasmine definitely provided that. We received frequent updates and pictures which put us at ease knowing our dog was having a great time and in caring hands. We highly recommend Jasmine for your pet care needs!”

“We love Jenna! She was so great with my dachshund Honey. I don’t leave her often, so it was wonderful to have a totally stress-free trip knowing Honey was happy and in great hands with Jenna. She checked in multiple times a day, sent lots of pictures, and was so sweet. Will definitely book her again!”

“Roman was Charise’s first ever Rover dog and we were really happy to have connected with her for our 5-day trip. Charise was a great sitter—she sent detailed updates about how Roman was doing with Navi and hope he was settling in while we were away. Her home is very clean and Charise is a very warm and welcoming host. Navi is just the cutest little nugget ever, and I could tell immediately Roman would feel right at home with Charise. Our big GSD is a big baby and throws a bit of a fit every time we leave, but Charise and Navi were patient with him while he warmed up to the idea of us being away—by the time we returned, he was fully integrated into their little family. Roman is allowed on the couch and bed for cuddles, and Charise has a full basement for the dogs to run around and play, a small yard, and she takes them together on long walks. Roman came home fully pooped from a week of playing with Navi and we’ll definitely be using Charise in the future!”
