“Karen has been dog walking for my handsome ol' man Chewbacca for a while now. It is easy to tell he is happier on the days she comes over. She is also thoughtful to get helpful feedback on how he is doing for the day, which is important as he is older and has had some illnesses. Karen also spends the time to give attention to my cats as well, including photos. I'm lucky to have her to take care of my Chewesph!”
About: Raised in Minnesota barn life, I learned hands‑on care for birds, small mammals, and horses. Now serving St. Pete, I offer reliable dog walks, gentle leash training, enrichment, medication administration, and attentive puppy, senior, and/or specialized care. My partner and I share life with two dogs, Betty and Zuko, and a cat, Grapes, and you’ll often spot our little fam swimming at Fort DeSoto or strolling through Sawgrass Lake Park. I offer early, late, or multiple daily visits and can do overnight stays with advance notice. My schedule is flexible most days and weekends; I am unavailable on Wednesdays. I primarily provide care in your home so pets stay in familiar surroundings. I follow provided routines, secure doors/enclosures, perform a quick safety check each visit, and administer oral meds exactly as directed. I send regular photo updates and will contact you should any concerns arise.

“Beverly was amazing with our little girl. Our puppy is pretty submissive and sometimes nervous to walk unless she knows the area or knows the people but Beverly didn’t pressure her and made sure to go at our pups pace and then had tired her out with some more playtime after her afternoon walks! Beverly will certainly be our first choice for pet care moving forward!”

“Micaela was so wonderful with my pup. She walked her in the afternoon in June. She updated me and sent me photos while I was on a trip. Sage was so happy. Thank you for taking great care of my fur baby.”

“My dog had a great couple of walks with Tracy! She sent great photos and updates while they spent time together, which made me feel at ease knowing he was in good hands. :)”

“Wonderful experience. She is kind and dependable. She treated my dogs very nicely upon meeting her. She was on time and went above and beyond. Sent great pictures and documented her walk. Highly recommend.!”

“Devin did amazing with my two doodles! He left great notes about their walks and took a bunch of pictures to keep me updated. This was my first time using Rover and it was a great experience. Will definitely be using him again, they had a blast and loved him!”

About: I know how important (and relieving) it is to find a sitter on Rover you can truly trust. With two pets of my own at home, I understand how much dogs become part of the family and how important it is to know they are in caring, responsible hands. I have also cared for older foster dogs during hurricanes, which taught me patience, attentiveness, and the importance of providing comfort during stressful situations. As a law student away from home, I do not currently have the time to care for a dog full time, so I see Rover as an opportunity to share some of the love and care I have for animals with your pets. I am reliable, responsible, and committed to making your dogs feel safe, cared for, and loved while you are away. Currently, I have a very flexible schedule. I can walk dogs multiple times a day and also pet sit for a few hours or check in as many times as needed! In your home, I would care for your dog by not only learning where all of their important items are, but also understanding their individual preferences, whether that’s where they like to rest, their favorite toy, or behaviors they may show when they are missing you. I know how important consistency and comfort are for pets while their owners are away. You can also count on me to respect your home, follow your routines closely, and remain communicative throughout my time with your pet so you always feel informed and reassured.
About: I have taken care of dogs and cats for over 13 years now. I have had both dogs and cats in my home since I was born. I have experience with all types of pet care from boarding, house-sitting, puppy/kitten care, and typical drop-in visits. I am currently applying to PhD programs and working remotely so I am home most days! I live alone in St. Pete and do not have any pets of my own so I am happy to keep yours in my home as needed. I do live in a studio so it isn't the biggest place if that's what your pet needs; however, I do have a fenced in yard for outdoor play. I am very well-versed in dog-sitting, cat-sitting, and house-sitting. I love when my clients leave me a note or list of things they prefer for their fur baby. I always do a home visit with the client present before I'm alone with their pet to ensure everyone is comfortable with one another.
About: With 10 years of experience, I love caring for pets whether it is training, playing, and making sure every furry friend feels safe, happy, and truly loved. My home is safe and cozy with a fully fenced yard, a clean play area, and designated spaces for pets to eat, play, or nap peacefully.
About: I have lived with big dogs my entire life. Had a German shepherd when I was little and have had 2 Rottweilers so I am pretty good at managing big dogs. I am usually at college and dont have a pet there except a stray cat for a few days a little while ago. but I take my dogs to the park everyday when I am home. My dogs have a dog door and go for lots of walks and park trips. They get loads of love and are pretty well trained.

Scott is one of the few people i trust with my precious baby. She loves him so much and Scott takes such amazing care of her, even going above and beyond almost every walk! He helps with keeping up with her leash training, plays with her, and even sometimes brings her special gifts on holidays! I would be so lost without Scott and he is truly a lifesaver!!

Alexandria is absolutely amazing! She has been my dog walker for quite some time, and I can’t say enough good things about her. She is dependable, caring, and always goes above and beyond. One thing I appreciate most is how flexible she is—she has helped me out on numerous occasions with last-minute requests, and I can always count on her when I need her. She is incredibly sweet with my dog, and it’s obvious how much she genuinely cares about the pets she works with. My dog is always excited to see her and comes back happy after every walk. I feel completely comfortable knowing my dog is in her care. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable, and kind dog walker. We are so lucky to have found her!

We’ve only had one walk so far, but Daulton made a great impression. He arrived early, was attentive to my dog’s needs, and communicated well throughout the entire process. I really appreciated the reliability, responsiveness, and care he showed. Based on this experience, I’d happily book with Daulton again and would definitely recommend him to others looking for a dependable and caring dog walker.

During our stay in St. Petersburg in an Airbnb, we sought a reliable dog care provider to assist us during our day-long absence. Daniel exhibited exceptional responsiveness, kindness, thoughtfulness, and care. Our pups thoroughly enjoyed their time under his supervision.

I’m so glad we found such an incredible dog sitter! Our pup was clearly spoiled and living his best life while we were away. The daily updates meant so much and gave us total peace of mind. Mia truly went above and beyond. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Saint Petersburg. On Rover:
- 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
