About: I own a Husky mix named Prisma who is turning 3 this year. She is quite energic and also epileptic. She is my daily experience. However I have sat for dog a bit bigger and much smaller! That includes Shihztus, Rottweilers, Golden Retrievers, Corgis, and Border Collies. I'm patient and responsible. My goal in any work field, but especially with your loved ones and possessions, is being reliable and communicating. This is what I find in my experience to be key for providing the best care and peace of mind. I work full time as a receptionist Mon - Fri, 8 to 4:30. This provides a lot of morning visits and overnight potential. Evening walks would works great as well. For specific requests, I can even dip into PTO to make the right situation work if a mid day visit is required during the work week. My Saturdays and Sundays are fully open at this time. I'm very patient and observant when interacting with pets of different personalities. Once informed on how you'd like your loved one to be cared for, I will do so in that manner. An obvious statement, but you'd be surprised how important that is to be said. If unsure or uncertain of care, we can brainstorm together as well to make sure I'm the correct sitter for the job.

About: In highschool I was very popular in my neighborhood from doing there dog nails, to dog sitting, over night stays, and even medications. Even back in high school I had a part time and school and still made sure the fur babies were taken care of. To this day I still dog sit for my neighbor. I also worked at a doggy daycare for about 6 months then i moved, I learned so much while I was there in that short period of time from learning to gain respect and how to control a group of 15+ dogs . And was in a animal science program in highschool with a mentorship at a clinic, then tried to go to college for my vet tech degree but too expensive(still paying that off). I also do have a very energetic German shepherd who I train every day she knows pretty much everything(sit, lay down, roll over, paw, other paw, high five, spin, heel, center, look, leave it, back up, and wait). I also dog sat for my boyfriend's coworker who had an older pointer who had a seziure not only did I comfort the dog but I called owner asap then vet, I then called off of work. Just because it's not my animal doesn't mean I will love them any less. But the take away from all that is I have a lot of experience in the animal department. I'm currently working part time and have a lot of free time on my hands and love being around animals . I only work wensday-saturday the other days I'm free. But as you can see with my profile I do have my own fur baby but my boyfriend never works nights or weekends so she won't be alone. For the pets at clients housing not only will I respond to you text asap even if I'm busy, I will also ask for guide lines and try to keep your dog on the schedule you have them on consistency is key, especially when a change like you leaving happens. I also am a big over thinker so before I let the dog out if you have a yard I will always make sure the gates are close and secure and make sure there's nothing laying out that would harm them. When I dog sit I imagine as if it's my own dog.

Joey is amazing with all my animals. My Cane Corso takes special introducing and not everyone I introduce him to takes the job. He liked Joey from the first day. I actually have a little farmstead with several types of animals, including a horse, a goat, an emu, over 50 chickens and other types of fowl. I even feed some of the wildlife! Joey does all of it. I get great pics and I'm always so happy with the detailed list he leaves of all the chores and extras that he does. He even remembers things that I forget to mention sometimes! Number one call for me all the time is Joey. Besides, he gave me a very reasonable farmstead rate. I highly recommend this sitter, especially if you have animals not listed on Rover!

We are super thankful Matt was available to care for our anxious half fox/ half rabbit (chihuahua mix) and grey tabby and send us photos of our babies during our week long vacay out of state. Canelo quickly warmed up to Matt and was happy to make a new friend. Matt went the extra mile by cleaning up some unwanted ants, offering to take out the trash, and buying food when we ran low. I most definitely recommend him!

About: I've taken care of cats and dogs since I was 15. Family, neighbors, friends, and even bosses have turned to me for their pet care. I have a 9-5 job. I am available Sundays and Saturdays, and have flexibility on Mondays and Thursdays. I may also be flexible on an as-needed basis. When I pet-sit for others, I respect/adhere to their criteria (e.g., indoor cats are kept indoors, dogs needing fences are kept in fenced areas, etc.). With my own cats, I make sure they get all the cuddle and playtime they need. I do the same when dog-sitting (my sister's Golden Retriever is a bundle full of energy!) I feed my cats wet food twice a day and ensure that their dry food and water bowls are kept filled. When pet-sitting (dogs or cats), I always follow the feeding routine as requested by the owner. I always pay close attention to pet behavior, being mindful of any unusual behavior. I make sure to let the owner know of such behavior to determine whether any emergency action is needed. I am also very chatty with all pets, so rest assured that they won't feel lonely!

She left our home neat and clean. If you’re looking for someone reliable, kind, and respectful - Maggie should be your choice!!!

About: Hi! I’m Brandon, and I know how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pet. I work full-time as an event coordinator in Rochester, which means I’m organized, dependable, and comfortable managing responsibilities while providing great customer service. I’ve always enjoyed being around dogs and understand that every pet has a different personality and routine. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or just wants company and attention, I’ll make sure they feel safe and cared for while you’re away. I’m an active person who enjoys being outdoors, so I’m happy to provide energetic walks as well as slower-paced strolls for senior dogs. I’ll treat your pet with the same care and respect I’d want someone to show my own. When you book with me, you can expect: * Plenty of updates and photos during every visit. * Reliable, on-time arrivals. * Respect for your home and your pet’s routine. * Clear communication before, during, and after each booking. My schedule is also very flexible. I work from home three days a week, which allows me to accommodate a variety of walking, drop-in, and pet care requests throughout the day. Whether you need a midday walk, evening visit, or weekend care, I’ll do my best to work around your pet’s routine and provide dependable, consistent care. I look forward to meeting you and your best friend! I’m currently working full time at University of Rochester. I work from home 3 days a week, which makes my schedule flexible during the week. I also have weekends off for the most part. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. My home is clean, smoke-free, and has a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time. I understand that every dog has their own routine, and I’ll do my best to keep them comfortable and stress-free. If I’m caring for your pet in your home, I’ll treat your space with the same respect and care I would my own.

About: Hi, I’m Marika! I’m a teacher, artist, mom, and lifelong animal lover. I’ve been caring for animals my entire life. I grew up with dogs and learned from an early age the importance of daily walks, playtime, companionship, and responsible pet care. As an adult, I’ve shared my home with cats and currently care for multiple cats of my own. I offer cat sitting, drop-in visits, and dog walking with a focus on kindness, reliability, and individualized care. Living with both dogs and cats has taught me that every pet is unique. I enjoy getting to know each animal’s personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their family is away. I would love the opportunity to meet you and your furry family members! My flexible schedule allows me to provide dependable dog walks and drop-in visits throughout the week.I understand how important routines are for pets and strive to keep them comfortable, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. I do not offer pet care in my home. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their routines closely and make sure pets have fresh water, meals, exercise, playtime, and plenty of attention. About: A recent graduate of the Eastman School of Music, I'm currently playing with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra as a flutist! I've been missing my spunky dog Kora who lives back home and have always grown up with dogs, which is why I've been a sitter for Rover since I moved here in 2021. I love going for walks/runs, just hanging out, or lying next to my fireplace at home-- hopefully your dog loves some of these too! I've been taking care of dogs in total for around 15 years now, so I'm used to taking them out fairly frequently, getting up early for a morning walk, and bathing them. I am more than happy to take your dogs on a walk or watch them in my apartment, and make sure they're well-fed, have time to play, and are happy while you can go about your day :) I've raised my dog Kora from puppyhood and am very familiar with the training required for puppies. I have also fostered a handful of dogs (small dogs and one large dog) over the last few years and have experienced shy dogs who take some time to come out of their shells :) As a musician, I have a few hours here and there scattered throughout my day that I can walk or stop by/watch your pup. I'm a very active person and love being outside! I am more than happy to be outside/in your home with them as well! I unfortunately cannot house your furry friends because of my housing situation.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Rochester stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rochester choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Rochester with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rochester. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
