About: I make time to care for dogs on my free time and love to make them feel special. I help busy hardworking owners feel relieved when they can work and know that their dog is in good hands. I am a student that is currently studying full time at my apartment and am available to schedule dog care. I am very organized and am able to set time for studying and pet care and play time. I can play with them and give them enrichment. I can pet them to soothe them. I can encourage drinking water to keep them healthy. I am very vocal when it comes to encouraging and letting pets know they are doing something well.
About: I've had pets in the house for as long as I can remember! Growing up we had dogs of all sizes, cats, turtles, tortoises, fish, and frogs. I have experience with dogs of all breeds and sizes, from Yorkies to Rottweilers, and love them all. I currently have one cat named Olive, and plan to adopt a dog once I'm able to move to a larger space. I'm ready to take care of anything your pet needs - bathroom breaks, cat litter scooping, cleaning up accidents, refreshing water and food, play time, brushing, oral medication, etc. I'm currently working from home a few times per week, so I have a lot more flexibility in terms of scheduling pet care and walks. Summer weekends are typically busy, but if I'm in town I'm happy to help you out. I will always care for your animals as if they were my own. My goal is to make them as comfortable as possible, especially during the first meeting. I'm always on alert for changes in body language and behaviors that may let me know their comfort level. Every pet is different, but I can guarantee that I will treat each as the very best girl/boy there is.
âI genuinely feel like Scout is in good hands whenever I book with David. He looks after her with genuine care and always goes the extra mile to make sure sheâs having a good time while Iâm away. I will definitely be looking to book with him in the future.â

About: I have been a dog lover for as long as I can remember! I always loved watching animal planet and reading books about dog breeds. I have had three adopted shelter dogs over the years. Our first, a 90 lb yellow lab/dalmation mix named Woody. Then we found and adopted Buzz, a 50 lb pitbull/german shepherd mix, from the side of the road. Our current family dog is Banjo, a 110 lb foxhound/mastiff/german shepherd mix. I love dogs of all shapes and sizes but mixed breeds and shelter pups have a special place in my heart â¤ď¸ My experience mostly comes from taking care of my own pets, although I have helped care for neighbors and friends pets as well. I have also volunteered a couple months in a shelter, walking and playing with the dogs. I can fully handle walking dogs of all sizes, feeding and playing with them. I also have experience with dogs that are anxious around people and other animals. I have never owned a cat but I have lived with roommates and a host family that owned cats. I have also done cat sitting for neighbors. I know the basics and am a quick learner for whatever you need! I am very respectful of others homes, rules and routines. Please provide me with as much detail as possible for what you need and I will do my best to help! I respond quickly, and communicative and reliable. I would love the chance to meet you and take care of your best friend đśđą I am a teacher and am off during July. During the school year I can work around the school day and also am available on weekends. I am only available to care for your animal at your home as animals are not allowed in my apartment. I do well with specific directions on walking, feeding and playing with your pet. I would love to hang out and play with them and do any other additional things you need.
âKate is great! Sheâs always willing to help me when Iâm in a pinch, is extremely responsive, and gives me good insight into how my dog is doing when Iâm not there. We really appreciate her!â

âAlina did an amazing job taking care of my cat during Christmas time! She responded quickly and sent me lots of great pictures of my cat during visits. Thank you Alina!â

About: I've helped care for dogs and cats of friends when they are out of town, including walking, feeding, and cleaning up after them (including puppies, which frequently had to be cleaned up after, which I have no problem with). I am capable of handling anything that comes my way and am not easily stressed. Animal care and owner communication are my first priorities. I will do whatever you need to care for your pets, such as letting them outside in a fenced yard or putting them in a crate at the end of the visit. As I work full time, my schedule typically is weekends. However, I can do early morning walks before 8 am or after 6 pm during weekdays. Pets will be monitored closely. I stick to instructions and will ask questions if I have them. Animals will be treated with patience and respect. If house-sitting, I always put things back in their proper place and avoid touching anything that isn't required for pet care. I myself don't enjoy when folks move my things around, so I keep my hands off!
âStacie was amazing with our pets. Our dogs can be particular and overly anxious, but they were always excited to see her. She asked questions about our animals that I hadnât thought of and really wanted to make sure they were well taken care of. She always kept us updated and sent us lots of pictures. I would absolutely book Stacie again in the future. She is wonderful.â

About: I have been taking care of pets since I was a child. I grew up on a farm and had to care for the family pets. I have watched a plethora of dog breeds for a night, weekend, week, or just to check in. I have experience clipping nails, bathing, and administering medications. I love pet snuggles and giving treats as well as being very active with my pet friends!! I can be flexible with pet sitting needs and am able to provide services during the day, evenings and weekends. I do not provide housesitting overnight at this time. I have a loving energetic dog who loves friends to play with and a 12 year old daughter who loves caring for pets. We live in a townhouse style apartment that is cozy and welcoming. I do not have a fenced in yard but am comfortable leashing for potty breaks and long walks. I live within walking distance to our neighborhood dog park which I bring dogs daily to run and play freely. I am also able to provide transportation to my familyâs home in Victor with a fenced in yard for private free play. I can easily crate if needed/preferred. I use positive reinforcement always with my own pet and others!
âMadisyn took wonderful care of Daisy, she was very caring and loving to her, and even bought her a baby pool to cool off in the heat! I will be booking Madisyn again!â
About: I grew up on farms in the south, so I've been around animals my whole life. I moved to Rochester specifically because of how dog friendly it is. I think dogs deserve to be treated like family because they are our family! I work from home taking care of pets is my main job. If i could fill every hour of the week with animals, I would! I give every dog the time and attention they deserve. I have a fenced in back yard and a friendly dog of my own to keep yours company. I send pictures throughout the day to let you know how your pup is doing!
âKyle has been amazing! He is extremely knowledgeable and caring, and always goes the extra mile on walks. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for someone to hang with their pup throughout the day.â

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Rochester
Alex was a wonderful sitter! We asked very last minute as our previous sitter canceled, and needed something less conventional - for her to watch our bearded dragon, fish, and plants. She was amazing from the first minute we spoke and willing to help out, despite never working with a bearded dragon before. We came home and everything and everyone is healthy and happy. We canât recommend her enough!

HUGE thank you to MacKenzie for doing this one-off semi last-minute visit with my pups and her continued patience with my one dog who is a little more nervous and difficult. She is a blessing and I will always be grateful for her love and care she gives my pups while I am away.

Saoirse came for a meet and greet and a 1 hour drop-in ahead of a planned longer stay. She was fantastic with my dog right off the bat, and very thorough when we went over Islaâs needs. She is super communicative and sent great pics, even during such a short stay. Isla had a great time hanging out with Saoirse, and we canât wait to have her again!

Baela was great with my dog Simba! She is friendly and clearly has a natural way with animals. My dog is very anxious around new people, Baela was patient with him and he warmed up to her after their time together. I appreciated her communication and the updates she sent during the visit. Would definitely book her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesnât offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
