“Ricardo was so great with our dog! Took him out for a walk in all kinds of weather, and he came home happy and tired. Great communication and updates - we are hoping to work with him again soon. Thanks Ricardo!”

“Alex was a great host for daycare! He was able to accommodate our schedule, great communication throughout the process, provided daily updates and pictures of Milo's stay. Milo had a wonderful space to play and nap all day, would recommend for anyone needing services.”

About: I grew up on farms in the south, so I've been around animals my whole life. I moved to Rochester specifically because of how dog friendly it is. I think dogs deserve to be treated like family because they are our family! I work from home taking care of pets is my main job. If i could fill every hour of the week with animals, I would! I give every dog the time and attention they deserve. I have a fenced in back yard and a friendly dog of my own to keep yours company. I send pictures throughout the day to let you know how your pup is doing!
“Elliot and Dominque are wonderful! I’ve used them for daycare a couple of times to get my pup comfortable there before an upcoming trip next month. I know he’ll be in good hands. I very much appreciate their professionalism and frequent communication/updates!”

About: I’ve always been the girl who is obsessed with dogs. I grew up with dogs and I was the one who took care of them, and that love for caring and training has only grown. I’m the type of person who needs a lot of “outside time” so my soul dog Murphy and I spend a good amount of time playing in the courtyard and going on multiple walks a day; I truly don’t know who’s happier. Currently, I have a very open schedule and it’s just Murphy and I at home all day. Some evenings I babysit for my family out in Spencerport, but kid friendly dogs are welcome to come with me and there is also a large yard (not fenced in, but there is a 30 ft leash set up). I have a fenced in grass courtyard where the dogs can play, and my apartment is very open and there’s lots of room for dogs to play inside. My dog Murphy does not need to be crated when left alone, but I have a small cage in case anyone who visits needs it. Murphy has more toys than I care to admit, so your pups will have lots to play with.
“Andriana was great with Monte while we went to the PGA tournament this weekend. He had a great time playing outside and went on a walk. Thanks again, we will definitely be using her again if we are back in Rochester.”

“Norman loved going to Anthony and Jayson’s! They took awesome care of him and were quick to help me with daycare when something came up with my normal dog sitter. I will definitely be using them in the future!”

“Susan is absolutely wonderful! She took excellent care of our 11 year old Shih Tzu, Teddy! He hadn't been eating much the day before we dropped him off, so she worked with him to see that he ate his food and took all of his meds. She kept us up-to-date - sending photos and videos during his stay. Susan made Teddy feel at home and made it a worry-free stay for us! Definitely recommend!”

“I have two reviews to write here. Mine first. That Mark cared for Gus during my first week at a new job brought so much peace of mind. Mark was accommodating with pickup and drop off times and communicated during the day with pictures and notes. I had no stress about Gus being in good hands. Now from Gus. I am a pandemic pup—totally attached to my empty nester parents (though I really do love everyone.) I loved going to Mark’s house—hopped right out of my mom’s car and ran up to his gate. We went on walks and I got to be pals with his dogs. We played and played and I was so tired when my mom picked me up. I think she was too so she was really happy that I just wanted to lay on the clinch when we got home. Mark took really good care of me and I hope I get to go back. ??”

“I really am so happy with the care my dog received here. She was happy and would have probably been happy to stay and play with these wonderful humans! It feels great to know that she is being loved a LOT! Highly recommend.”

“Rachel provided kind, attentive and friendly care to my girl Lucy. She provided photos and updates on Lucy and how her day was going. I feel that my girl is in great hands and that I trust Rachel is giving Lucy all the love and attention she needs!”

About: Hello! Thank you for trusting me with your pet’s care and comfort. 🐾😊 I’m a licensed veterinary technician and professional dog trainer with a lifelong passion for animal care. With both medical and behavioral experience, I’m comfortable handling everything from shy or anxious pups to seniors and those with special needs. Your dog isn’t just being watched, they’re being truly understood and cared for. I conduct meet-and-greets in your home so your pup can feel comfortable in their own environment while we get to know each other. I’ve found this sets everyone up for success because, just like kids, dogs often behave better when their parents are away. Instead of overwhelming them with a new space and new dogs all at once, I take the first few days to carefully introduce them to my home and pack. This thoughtful approach creates a calmer, safer transition and helps prevent stress or conflict. Safety is always my top priority. I take pride in creating a structured, low-stress environment where every dog feels secure and respected. At this time, I primarily accept dogs 40 lbs and under. Larger dogs are welcome to inquire and may be accepted depending on temperament, ease of care, and compatibility with my household. I share my home with well-balanced dogs, one younger Border Collie, Hopper, a rescue chihuahua Skipper, a rescue Collie mix, Jake and my rescue Shiba Inu, Renji. 🐕 I also have some dog-savvy cats who are very accustomed to canine guests. 🐱 My home is designed with comfort in mind, whether your pup loves to play or prefers a quiet place to relax. I have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time, cozy lounging areas, and easy access for senior dogs who may need to avoid stairs. To ensure the highest level of care and attention, I typically host one guest dog at a time. I’m happy to accommodate multiple dogs from the same family. As an added bonus, I can provide basic grooming services during your dog’s stay, including nail trims, ear cleaning, bathing, and anal gland expression if needed for an additional fee. Feel free to inquire. I look forward to your fur baby’s stay! Thank you and have a ✨ Pawsitive ✨ day! Kimberley G, LVT, CDT I work from home so daily pet care is easy and your pets are never left alone for more than a couple hours. When I do have to leave, I have cameras to help keep an eye on them and make sure they are safe as well. 👀 I care for guests the same way I care for my own pets. I appreciate how scary it can be leaving your fur baby in someone else’s hands, so I send pictures and updates as frequently as you’d like. Safety is my number one priority. I will always do my best to ensure a safe and enjoyable stay for your pup. My motto? “They’ll be relaxed, so you can relax.” 🐾☺️
“Sydney took our two large dogs so I could concentrate on enjoying the company of my young grandchildren without concern of them being knocked over. We dropped them in the morning and picked up at night. We got pictures of them going on good walks, and Sydney was great about responding to texts. We would definitely have her watch our boys again.”

“Mary Ann was communicative, flexible, and returned us a tired dog that got two walks while in her care for the day. She sent photos and updates as well. Would strongly recommend Mary Ann.”

About: I've raised two energetic puppies through adolescence and frequently provide dog-sitting services for friends in the area. I also have experience working as an enrichment specialist at a well-known doggy daycare in Rochester and volunteering as a foster for local rescues. I am experienced with anxious dogs and can adapt to your fur-baby's specific needs. I'm trained in basic human and canine CPR, and I'm skilled at recognizing early signs of reactive behavior in animals. While I'm not perfect, I'm highly attentive. Since I’m home most of the time, I’ll ensure your pet stays healthy, happy, and safe! We are an adventure duo -- you can catch us at the beach playing fetch in the water, hiking, or just taking long strolls along the canal! On days where the weather is rainy, we still get 3 walks a day (morning, noon, evening) with thorough wipe downs after! Meal times are interwoven with short training sessions. I have dedicated several rooms in my house to doggy activity areas -- agility equipment, floor mats, etc (see photos). Grooming is done very regularly. My pup has environmental allergies so we also do a water rinse daily when we return from our adventures. When your baby stays with me, they will receive the same treatment (if they are comfortable getting brushed). He is my entire life and I couldn’t be happier! I have included photos of my home (and the excessive amount of dog toys we own) in my profile. Several of the rooms in my house are dedicated to doggy activities/enrichment and I also have a fenced in yard. I have also made sure that my set up allows me to separate dogs from each other if they ever get over stimulated -- I have enough rooms where each dog can be in their own room. I also have a doggy door so most days when the weather is not atrocious the dogs can relieve themselves/play as they please. Also my sun room is dedicated to dog care so if need be I can gate off/separate pooches that get too worked up (or just need privacy eating). I do have two crates — one for super small dogs and the other for dogs up to 35 lbs. My dog is crate trained but prefers free range so I have dog beds in every single room. Dogs are welcome on furniture but please make sure they have been recently bathed (within a few days before) if you are boarding as we keep our home extremely clean (the carpets get washed every month and vacuum and swiffering are done daily). We are probably not a good fit if your dog does not get along with other dogs, because my dog is still young and very energetic. If your dog does not like to play but does not react aggressively to other dogs attempting to initiate play, Momo would be fine as he does eventually give up if the other dog does not engage him at all. When we schedule a meet and greet, you can expect to meet us outside the front yard for a couple block long walk together before going to the backyard to let the pooches sniff each other out. Since Momo is a chow-mix, he is protective by nature and does not like it if other fur-babies he does not know well try to jump on his mom so I will likely only greet your baby after I put him back in the house.
“Quinn is fantastic! She was welcoming and loving to my pup. She kept me updated throughout the day with regular photos and comments which I loved receiving. My pup was exhausted from running and playing all day with her doggies in her large, fenced in yard. My pup & I look forward to him returning to her top-notch care!”

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
