“We were passing through Rochester and really needed a very trustworthy sitter for our highly separation anxious three legged Jack. So when we found Alex and Bethany and Jack trotted off with them with no anxiety, we knew we'd found the right match. These people clearly have the magic touch and the dedication to take care of any creature with any kind of special need. So I would recommend them a million times over. Honestly feeling kind of bummed we dont live in Rochester and therefore cant call on them more often.”

“Norman loved going to Anthony and Jayson’s! They took awesome care of him and were quick to help me with daycare when something came up with my normal dog sitter. I will definitely be using them in the future!”

“Rachel provided kind, attentive and friendly care to my girl Lucy. She provided photos and updates on Lucy and how her day was going. I feel that my girl is in great hands and that I trust Rachel is giving Lucy all the love and attention she needs!”

“Quinn took AMAZING care of Jose!! He loved being outside in her yard and playing with the other dogs. I received photos/videos every hour as well as updates on how he was adapting. I will definitely be taking him there again! Thanks Quinn!! 😊”

“Ricardo was so great with our dog! Took him out for a walk in all kinds of weather, and he came home happy and tired. Great communication and updates - we are hoping to work with him again soon. Thanks Ricardo!”

“Kate does a phenomenal job taking care of my special needs puppy. She is attentive to Lucy's needs and gives honest feedback on the days' events. She tells me if Lucy has had walks, poops or naps during the day. Her photos are also meaningful and taken with care. I appreciate her time and dedication to care for my baby. I will continue to have Kate watch Lucy for as long as I can.”

About: Murphy and I are a tag team! Please only reach out if your pets are good with other dogs. I’ve always been the girl who is obsessed with dogs. I grew up with dogs and I was the one who took care of them, and that love for caring and training has only grown. I’m the type of person who needs a lot of “outside time” so my soul dog Murphy and I spend a good amount of time playing in the courtyard and going on multiple walks a day; I truly don’t know who’s happier. Currently, I have a very open schedule and it’s just Murphy and I at home all day. Some evenings I babysit for my family out in Spencerport, but kid friendly dogs are welcome to come with me and there is also a large yard (not fenced in, but there is a 30 ft leash set up). I have a fenced in grass courtyard where the dogs can play, and my apartment is very open and there’s lots of room for dogs to play inside. My dog Murphy does not need to be crated when left alone, but I have a small cage in case anyone who visits needs it. Murphy has more toys than I care to admit, so your pups will have lots to play with.
“Rocket had such a blast playing with the other pups and kids. Valerie kept me posted took great care of him while I was at my appointment. Highly recommended!!!”

“Andriana was great with Monte while we went to the PGA tournament this weekend. He had a great time playing outside and went on a walk. Thanks again, we will definitely be using her again if we are back in Rochester.”

“I can't say enough about how awesome Elliot & Dominque were with my very active Husky! They seemed to have as much fun as she did which is absolutely wonderful and I know that Denali is in fantastic hands when she is with them. Thank you guys again and see you soon!”

I rescued my boy West, a pit-terrier, in 2015 have been blessed to have him in my life ever since. I live in a spacious 2 bedroom house with a fenced in driveway and backyard. West is completely house-trained, so I even have his old wire-crate if needed. About: Hey there, fellow pet lovers! I'm Shemeka, and I've been head over heels for animals since I could walk. Growing up, our house was always a mini zoo – dogs, rabbits, hamsters, you name it. That early start blossomed into a lifetime of pet care experience. For the past 10 years, I've been the go-to pet sitter for friends, family, and neighbors. From energetic pups who need long walks to cuddly cats who just want a lap to curl up in, I've cared for them all. I understand that each pet has its own personality and needs, and I'm committed to providing tailored, loving care to every furry friend I meet. When your pets stay with me, they're not just guests – they're family. My home is pet-proofed and ready for playtime, with a fenced backyard for safe outdoor adventures. I'm always up for long walks, fetch sessions, or just curling up on the couch for some quality cuddle time. I'm reliable, attentive, and always keep pet parents updated with photos and messages. My flexible schedule working from home means I can be there for your pets when they need me most. Choose me, and you'll head off on your travels with peace of mind, knowing your beloved pet is in caring, experienced hands. Can't wait to meet you and your furry family members! I've been working from home for the last 4 years, so I've had plenty of time to ensure my pet and other pet friends fit into my daily routine. I start each day by feeding my pet and taking them for a walk, and I make sure to set aside some playtime in the afternoon and evenings. On weekends, I usually do a grooming session and nice long hike! It keeps us happy and healthy! I make sure every home is a pet paradise! Whether it’s securing hazards, setting up cozy spots, or using high-quality food and toys, safety and comfort are my top priorities. I treat every pet as if they were my own, ensuring they feel loved and secure while I’m there!
“Brittany took such great care of my 5 month old puppy Willow. She sent many photos and videos during Willows stay. They have the cutest little dog Waldo, who played and even cuddled with Willow! They have a beautiful fenced in back yard and even a doggie door so that Willow could decide if she wanted to stay inside or go outside. Brittnay will be my go-to person for any future dog sitting needs.”

“Sydney took our two large dogs so I could concentrate on enjoying the company of my young grandchildren without concern of them being knocked over. We dropped them in the morning and picked up at night. We got pictures of them going on good walks, and Sydney was great about responding to texts. We would definitely have her watch our boys again.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Greece
Alex was a great host for daycare! He was able to accommodate our schedule, great communication throughout the process, provided daily updates and pictures of Milo's stay. Milo had a wonderful space to play and nap all day, would recommend for anyone needing services.

Alicia took great care of my Lucy. Lucy has special needs and Alicia made sure she was well-cared for. I appreciate the kindness and patience she has and her willingness to watch an anxious, fearful dog. I am grateful for the availability, when given a short notice, to watch Lucy. She has always been available. I also appreciate her response time when I try to reach her. I feel Lucy is in great hands.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Greece commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
