About: As a man with a strong love and passion for dogs, I have taken a lot of time to grow my understanding and experience working with these beautiful creatures many call our best friends! My experiences are: -Working at suburban animal hospital - years working at doggy daycare/ training facility’s - studied at animal behavior college for canine obedience training -dabbles in canine fitness - dabbles in canine holistic health and nutrition. I am currently doing pet care as a part time job but as my other endeavors of landscaping and martial arts is flexible, I would love to make a career out of my passion! When your Pets are in my care I want to make there time as fun and stress free as can be. To do that I make sure to have a full understanding of your pets behavior, triggers, fears, and possible injuries to safely modify my care to fit each individual pets needs. You tell me your home boundaries for your pets and I will make sure they are followed the same way you do when your home!
About: I've loved dogs since childhood and have always had one by my side. Right now, I have a toy poodle, so I understand the unique needs of small breeds firsthand—from their exercise requirements to their more delicate care compared to larger dogs. Because of this, I'm especially comfortable and confident caring for small dogs under 20 lbs. What sets me apart is the personal, hands-on experience I bring: I know how to read small dogs' body language, keep them calm around bigger animals, and give them the gentle, attentive care they thrive on. I'm patient, observant, and treat every dog like my own poodle—with genuine affection and close attention to their comfort and safety. I work from home. So I will be able to take care of your pet. If you have something on weekend or on Holiday then you can rely on me I have a toy poodle who is very friendly. He loves to play. If your pup is not aggresive then he will be safe here. I can give your food or my pets food.
“WOOOOW! I’m so amazed at how well they treated my dog. When I say that they went above and beyond, they did their thing! Amazing services. Now my dog has a second home. I can now sleep in peace whenever my dog is not with me. Thank you so much! I will surely be back!!!”

“Kate was very accommodating of my schedule and was clearly comfortable and confident taking care of animals. Cosmo seemed comfortable staying with her, her daughter, and cat, and I will definitely use her service again”

About: I come from a family who has always had multiple pets at a time, with anywhere from 3 to 10 foster dogs under our care at any given time! I’ve cared for a wide range of dogs from smaller poodles and Shih tzus to much larger retrievers, border collies, and German shepherds. I have experience with cats as well, but much more lengthy experience taking care of dogs of different sizes and temperaments :) I am a med student so my schedule varies in flexibility but I live in a very walkable area and typically spend a lot of time at home studying! I love taking long walks in between classes and studying and would love to bring a furry friend along with me :) As I do have to be in classes some days for a few hours (no more than 3-4 at a time), i am better boarding pets who can be left alone for a couple hours. As for my home, I have plenty of space for them to run around freely.
“Matt and Rachel are amazing! This is my second time trusting them with Lele, and they always take great care of her. She loves them, and I appreciate their updates. Highly recommend!”

“We had a 10/10 experience with Elliot and Dominique, they took amazing care of our Bernese Mountain Dog, kept us updated throughout his stay, and gave us a report card and photo of him when we picked him up - we’ll definitely be using their services in the future!”

“Michelle was great - we booked her last minute as we were traveling in town for a funeral and she did such a great job caring for Elmer. She was flexible on drop off/pick up times and Elmer was well loved and exhausted when we picked him up.”

Amy provided exceptional care for our two cats. She sent daily updates and videos. We could tell that the cats were very comfortable and having a nice time. We booked somewhat at the last minute and Amy was more than accommodating. Would 100% recommended to anyone looking for a cat-sitter.

Lydia did a wonderful job taking care of our puppy while we went to a wedding. This was our first time leaving our dog with someone else, and Lydia was so kind and caring that we felt totally comfortable. As an added bonus, she sent us some beautiful pictures of our pup!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
