“If you’re looking for someone to watch your dog - look no further! Jose is an amazing dog whisperer who took the best care of our 11 year old Aussie while we were away for a few weeks. Communication was quick and easy, our pup came home happy and tired - highly recommend!”

“Would highly recommend and use Joely and Carson again! Great communication, very accommodating and consistent updates with pictures. I think my dog is still sad that she had to leave, but I will absolutely use them in the future.”

“This was my first time using Rover. Elizabeth made it so easy. I could tell Teddy was comfortable there from the pictures she sent and it was a huge relief to know he was with a family.”

“Tyler and Melissa were great! They were very responsive and sent me regular updates. My dog had a great time playing with their Luna! Would definitely use them again!”

“Leah was amazing with my doodle Darcy! I was very nervous as this was the first time I was leaving her overnight, but Leah provided great care and communication, including sending pictures of Darcy having fun throughout! I will definitely use Leah again!”

“Fabiola was fantastic. She sent consistent updates to let me know how my dog was doing and did a great job watching her. Would highly recommend!”

“David was amazing! He was super accommodating about a last minute booking, and sent lots of sweet pics of my pup having fun and getting loved on. He came back tired from all the playing and fun he had.”

“Thank you, Allison, for taking such good care of our puppy! We know he's a handful, but he loves playing with your dog, and getting regular updates from you kept our minds at ease while on vacation.”

“Our Lexi warned up to Sophia almost immediately, which is unusual for her. As a senior pup, Sophia had no problem giving Lexi her meds, which was comforting. Sophia was also patient with Lexi's accidents. Communication was good and pictures of Lexi appearing completely at ease warmed our hearts. Thanks, Sophia!”

“Rebecca was great! Kept me updated and sent pictures multiple times a day. Our dog was well cared for and loved while we were away! Thank you so much for for caring for our baby!”

About: I’m an animal lover who has been caring for my friends’ dogs and cats for quite some time, and I recently decided to turn something I truly love into a little business of my own! 🐾 I’m home all day and don’t work outside the home, which means I have 100% of my time available to give your pets the attention, love, and care they deserve while their pawrents are away. Whether they need walks, playtime, cuddles, companionship, or just someone to keep them company, I’m happy to be their person while you’re away. ❤️ Your pets aren’t just a job to me—they’re family, and I’ll treat them like my own I’m home all day with a very flexible schedule. I’m able to build my day around the pets in my care, giving them plenty of attention, playtime, potty breaks, walks, meals, and—most importantly—lots of love and companionship. I don’t have to rush off to work or leave them alone for long periods, so they can have someone around throughout the day just like they would at home with their pawrents. 🐾❤️ Whether your pets are staying in my home or I’m caring for them in their own home, I focus on making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I follow their normal routines as closely as possible, including meals, potty breaks, walks, playtime, medications if needed, and plenty of attention and cuddles. I know every pet is different, so I take the time to learn their personality, preferences, and quirks. My goal is for your pets to feel happy and relaxed while you’re away—and for you to have peace of mind knowing they’re being well cared for. 🐾❤️

About: I’m new to Rover, but I’ve been around dogs my entire life! I grew up with dogs and have continued to have them throughout adulthood, with experience caring for a variety of breeds and personalities. My husband and two kids also love dogs, so your pet will be welcomed and cared for by our whole family. We understand the care, attention, and love they need. I typically work from home, with only occasional in-person meetings, so your dog(s) will have plenty of company and attention throughout the day. Your dog(s) will be part of our family while they’re here! We have a large yard for fresh air and play, as well as a great neighborhood for walks. Dogs can relax and roam freely around our home during the day, with plenty of love, attention and companionship.
“Amber and her family did a great job watching our dog Sawyer for 2&1/2 days. While we were out of town Amber sent some photos and a few messages with updates letting us know how Sawyer was doing. I definitely plan on using Amber's dog sitting services in the future and 100% recommend her to others! thanks you Amber!”

“We had a 10/10 experience with Elliot and Dominique, they took amazing care of our Bernese Mountain Dog, kept us updated throughout his stay, and gave us a report card and photo of him when we picked him up - we’ll definitely be using their services in the future!”

Amy was very flexible with me when my plans changed and communicated very fast. I really appreciate her willingness to work with me to make my last minute trip as stress free as possible. My dog looked very happy when I picked him up and he loved playing with the other dogs!

Buddy had an excellent and comfortable time with Kevin and Kassie! From our meet and greet to drop and pick up, all transitions were seamless. Thank you so much for the pic updates and keeping my mind at ease while I was away. This was home away from home for Buddy. Much appreciated.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
