“We were absolutely blown away by Beth and Doug and how they cared for Fritz. She provided daily feedback about how he was doing and this reinforced how perfect the match was for Fritz and us. Their house is setup for dogs and they are both laid back and do not get flustered. I truly believe that they treated Fritz as well as we do at our home and couldn't be happier to have met them. I would give them the highest recommendation possible if anyone I looking for a short or longer term dog sitting.”

“Fabiola was fantastic. She sent consistent updates to let me know how my dog was doing and did a great job watching her. Would highly recommend!”

“We gratefully appreciate Debra accepting our sit upon our return to Rochester from a cross country drive beginning in California. It was a lot for the pups. Debra was trouper with Ava particularly who arrived at an unfamiliar setting. Cleary the stay caused Ava anxiety because she made several messes and was clearly out of sorts. Debra was very understanding and clearly communicated all that we. needed to know. I'm sure that Ava will be back to her old self in no time. Thank you Debra for taking a chance on us. we're sorry it wasn't a more successful sit.”

“Rebecca was great! Kept me updated and sent pictures multiple times a day. Our dog was well cared for and loved while we were away! Thank you so much for for caring for our baby!”

“Hannah was amazing.! I could tell that Ben was cared for properly and treated like apart of her family. Great environment for my dog and I will definitely be using her services more often.”

“Hello, My first time using Rover, I was reading several profiles/reviews and came across Quinn. She agree to meet me and my Fur babies on a kinda short notice! She was very friendly and welcoming, we met her fur babies and they all seemed to get along! Quinn kept my babies for 8 days and was awesome about sending photos and keeping me updated on how things were going! I would use Quinn again, great choice! Thanks Quinn”

About: I have been breeding dogs since 2019 and have hands-on experience caring for dogs of various sizes, temperaments, and needs. Through breeding, grooming, and working closely with professional trainers and groomers in my network, I’ve developed a strong understanding of dog behavior, coat care, and handling techniques. I have groomed dogs through referrals and word of mouth and am very familiar with proper care, structure, and maintaining a calm environment. My background in the fire service has strengthened my reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to community trust. I take dog welfare seriously and treat every dog as if they were my own. I provide a safe, calm, and structured environment in my home with a fully fenced yard for supervised outdoor time. Dogs are always monitored, never left unattended outside, and introductions are done slowly and safely. I’m experienced with crate training and can crate dogs if needed or requested. Cleanliness, routine, and each pet’s individual comfort and safety are always my top priorities.
“Megan absolutely exceeded expectation in taking care of my Shih Tzu, Barrington. Her love for animals as not only pets but as our loving companions and babies is so evident. She sent me so many wonderful pictures and videos and daily updates that made me have peace-of-mind being away from my bear. If you are looking for a reliable, loving, caring, attentive sitter for your pup, look no further. She accommodated to brushing Barrington's fur and taking care of him when he had a stomach ache and got sick. Megan also has the most fun toys and gadgets for the pups. I think he loved it so much that he didn't want to leave. Barrington even made BFFs with her pup Murph and they played so nicely together. Megan will treat your dog like her own and make being away from them feel better.”

“It was clear from the first prestay visit that Ahona was going to be flexible and caring, and our Lexi warmed up to her and David quickly. Ahona sent daily pictures that made us feel very comfortable our choice, as we could see all the loving they were giving her. We will definitely use her again!”

About: I have had much experience around animals. From the time I was little, our family has taken care of 3 dog and 5 cats. As I grew up, I have had my own cat that lived with me for 18 years, name was Virginia. She was half siamese. I am currently working partime, so I will have plenty of time working with your pups and cats! I am also available on the weekend for boarding! I have a nice apartment in a safe neighborhood in Irondequoit. I can walk and housesit your cat/dog in a safe place. Their is also a dog park behind my home.
“Fitzy boy had so much fun and I got so many pictures! Thank you for the best time, I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for fitz as I was nervous leaving him for the first time!”

“Tetiana was excellent for my two dogs. They boarded with her and seemed happy and tired out. She has a great fenced in yard so i didn't have to worry about one of my dogs being a bit big and sometimes challenging to manage. The communication was also prompt and straightforward which is professional and appreciated! I will be booking with them again.”

“Elliot and Dominique took such wonderful care of our pups! This was our first time ever boarding Gabe and Angela Basset. They loved Elliot and Dominique from the minute they met them. They took such great care of our dogs. Loved the daily texts letting us know how they were doing, including adorable pictures of them! They even sent report cards home with them. Would definitely leave our pups with them again!”

“Lourdes is everything you would expect from a top notch Rover. She was kind and patient and provided excellent care for our pup. She was very comunicative and sent may photos and videos, putting us at ease that our pup was well taken care of each and every day. We hope to book with Lourdes again when the time comes.”

“Last minute, my usual sitter fell through, and Kate was able to come through and provide my Cooper with a place to stay for the weekend. Kate and her dad provided Coop with excellent care, provided consistent updates and made him feel like home. It was his birthday while I was away as well and they celebrated it and took a video and everything. It was really sweet and above and beyond. I would have Cooper visit these two gems again, anytime with zero trepidation. I strongly encourage anyone in need of a reliable sitter to utilize Kate’s services. Thanks again, again guys! You’re the best.”

“Fantastic sitter! She was incredibly attentive and caring. Our pets had a wonderful time with her, and she kept us updated with daily photos. We highly recommend her and give her a full 5 stars!”

What a find !!! Cara and Dan are so kind and caring. They took wonderful care of Ellie. Immediately upon meeting them I knew Ellie would be well cared for by them and I had no worries. Ellie loved them so much I think she missed them when we got home. Huge thanks to Cara and Dan ❤️

Natha was amazing with Remi. Remi is an anxious dog, and Natha’s experience with dogs who have anxiety made all the difference. She created a safe and comfortable environment for him and kept me updated with helpful feedback on how he was doing. Communication with her has been easy and consistent. She also kept Remi’s pill organizer and dishes very clean, which I really appreciated. I highly recommend Natha.

Alexandra and her family took great care of my dog, Hiccup, while we were across the country. Very communicative, and flexible, including with a last minute flight delay that caused a late night pick up. They sent photos and videos and made sure to ask tons of clarification questions! We would definitely recommend.

Awesome sitter, my dog came back in great shape + condition, wasn’t stressed at all, and overall seemed pretty happy! Super sweet sitter, very caring and attentive to our dog. Only issue is I wish there was more communication from her side. More pictures + updates, etc. Otherwise, would book again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
