“This is the second time Nikole has house/pet sit for us - this time with an 11 week old puppy. Nikole did a great job, frequent updates with great photos. Puppies are so much work and she managed everything very well.”

“Lavinia went above and beyond to take care of our fur baby. She was extremely attentive, caring, and patient. She sent us regular updates with lots of photos, so my husband and I were not worried about our dog at all. Our dog opened up to Lavinia so quickly, which is very rare and we appreciated that she took our dog on long walks even in rainy days! She also kept our house very clean. We would book her again without a doubt whenever we need to be out of town!!”

“This is the 2nd time that Ona was watched our dog and he loves her so much! We didn’t have to worry at about him at all when we went on vacation, and we came back to a clean house!”

About: I didn’t grow up with dogs of my own but all my friends had dogs and some of my family did, too. I’ve been around Great Danes to little chihuahuas. I do take care of my best friends two dogs when she is working her 12 hour shifts which includes letting them out to potty, feeding them, giving treats and of course all the rubs and lovings. I currently work part time at a doctors office so my afternoons and evenings are very open. Doing care in the morning before work is also not an issue. I do start work at 7am, but I am happy to stay the night or get there early before my shift. I unfortunately would not be able to offer services in my home unless it was a caged or tanked animal because I do have 4 cats currently. One of my cats is absolutely terrified of dogs.
“Lauren is amazing. My dog isn’t always the easiest but she made being away from lady so much easier than it ever has been. She is kind and attentive and can’t rate her highly enough! The best dog sitters and very considerate of the appt too!”

“Katherine was great with my puppers and my place. She sent regular updates and pictures and it was just overall a great experience. Sometimes it's hard leaving your pets with new people, but you can feel secure that they will be well taken care of and loved while away. Thank you!!!”

“Eric helped me when I was really in a pinch. He was kind, communicative, and dog-centered. Took my pup on a long walk and tired her out in a great way. Highly recommend.”

“Ricky did amazing! I have two dogs we rescued, little dachshunds. One of the boys we have can be loud, and aggressive. My partner and I were very anxious going into this fearful of any lash outs or boy could have. Ricky handled the my boys with tenderness and loving care. By the last day I was told my naughty boy was excited to see him come through the door for their daily walks. You’re amazing Ricky!”

“Laquan had a challenging assignment: looking after 4 vivacious French Bulldogs for a couple days. One in particular, required special handling because he is moody. Laquan rose to the challenge and kept the peace.”

About: Dog sitting was my first job as a teenager. My mom actually gave me the idea to start because she never wanted to have a pet, so this was such a fun compromise! Since then I’ve dog sat for small, medium and large dogs! I myself am an active person and love to be active with a furry friend! It’s nice to have company on a walk run or even someone to explore new parks with! I work full time but my schedule is fairly flexible! I am a therapist and have ability to work from home at times as long as I am not in a session or scheduled to run group therapy! I am happy to stay at your home and care for your pet with the instructions you give! I am happy to walk, play, pet, feed and clean up after your dog.
“Shayna was amazing! She stayed with our two dogs for a little over a week, one of which is a bit of a nut, and they were so happy and calm and well-cared for. Shayna was communicative, friendly, professional, and respectful, and we came home to a clean house and happy pups. We would book her again in a heartbeat!”

“Alexis did a great job with Maisie and Doc! Last minute Maisie was diagnosed with having fungus on her nose which required applying ointment twice a day. Alexis was on board to help with medication and tactics to try and distract Maisie from rubbing her nose. Alexis also took both dogs for regular walks, which they love! We felt comfortable while on vacation that both dogs were well cared for!”

“Oh my gosh, Jessica was a godsend! She was incredibly patient w and communicative abt my adult rescue dog. Stayed w her over a holiday period too. Can’t recommend enough!! 🙏🙏🙏”

“Suzanne stayed in our house with our 2 dogs for 9 days and did an awesome job. She was a great communicator - we got daily updates which gave us so much peace of mind. She stepped in at the last minute after other plans feel through and dealt with our older dog's medical issues smoothly. And when we returned she had clearly put a lot of effort into making sure the house was clean and ready for us. Maybe the most impressive thing about Suzanne's work is that both of our dogs were really calm when we returned - happy to see us, but not overly crazed like they often can be.”
“I'm so thankful that John was able to care for my dog, especially during the holidays! John was very respectful and kind; trying to maintain my dog's daily routine while we were away. My dog can also be a bit difficult in warming up to strangers and with other dogs, but John was great at understanding and working with Wally's behavior. Would recommend John's services at any time!”
“David saved the day when he stayed with our special needs dog and senior cat. We trusted they were in good hands and I am not sure they noticed we were even gone!”

“I was very thankful that Moriah was able to accomodate my last minute request. She took excellent care of Drew and Left and was very kind to send pics throughout the day.”

Irondequoit pet parents share their Rover experiences
Nikole was absolutely wonderful with our two kitties! We were traveling last minute because of a family emergency and Nikole was very understanding and flexible with us as our schedule changed and she was able. While we were gone, she sent us regular photos and updates about the kitties, which we really appreciated. The house was cleaner than we left it when we got home. The peace of mind she gave us was truly unmatched - thank you, Nikole!

Jess was wonderful! She made sure to come by the house to meet our boys before we confirmed booking. While Jasper, our anxious pup, refused to eat (normal for him when we are away, he lets anxiety take over) she made sure to double check with me before introducing peanut butter to coax him into eating more normally. She also sent plenty of photos and went above and beyond and was sweet enough to even bring our mail in! We would happily have her back to watch our boys! Thank you so much Jess!

Shayna was amazing! She stayed with our two dogs for a little over a week, one of which is a bit of a nut, and they were so happy and calm and well-cared for. Shayna was communicative, friendly, professional, and respectful, and we came home to a clean house and happy pups. We would book her again in a heartbeat!

Alex was great! He communicated clearly, checked in to make sure he understood my preferences, and sent regular updates with pictures that I really appreciated. My pups were happy and well cared for, and it gave me total peace of mind. I’d recommend Alex to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful dog sitter.

Mya sit for us last week while we were on vacation. She was great: very respectful of our home, communicative and treated our dog Bosco amazingly. He definitely enjoyed their walks together and cuddle with her on the couch and in bed. We will definitely use her again!!

Portia was the perfect person to house sit and take care of Tupper while we were on our honeymoon. From our first meeting with Portia, we had zero concerns about leaving him with a near stranger for 10 days. Portia communicated efficiently and regularly, she met every expectation we had and we came back to a well taken care of boy. We would recommend Portia to anyone and look forward to working with her again!

Rebecca watched my old boy, Remy for a weekend and stayed at my place as well. She was awesome! She was attentive to Remy's needs and sent me pictures and updates all weekend. I felt very comfortable with her at my home, and it made for a very relaxing weekend away knowing he was in good hands. I can't recommend her enough!!

Addison cared for our dogs while we were away for a week. While our dogs aren’t hard, they can be needy and my senior boy has the start of doggy dementia which can make it hard. Addison was amazing! We knew from the moment we met her our dogs were in good hands. They all loved her and took to her instantly. Addison communicated and sent pictures throughout the time we were away and even asked how to help our old man through this hard transition. Nobody should hesitate to hire Addison. She’s great with all dogs and we came back to our house in top shape.
John was fantastic with our pets. We have two big dogs - one with some separation anxiety and the other is dog-reactive. He took excellent care of them and was exceptionally communicative and responsive - all the things that allowed us to enjoy our weekend away and know that our beloved pets were in good hands.
