Camille was amazing!!! She took great care of our chihuahua while we were away. I never once had to worry about a thing as I knew my pup was in great hands! The photos that were sent to us were amazing and also gave us a sense of ease. Will definitely book with Camille again!!! 😄

Joey was wonderful. He met with us the day before for a Greet & Meet. He arrived promptly on both days and was very experienced & well-prepared to take care of our Senior. Joey was very detailed about Rufus's care plan and asked lots of good questions. He sent plenty of beautiful photos and updates during the day. Joey was able to use positive reinforcement (treats and positive praise) to wean him off his belly band. This was incredibly helpful as we have been able to continue without it.

Ricky did amazing! I have two dogs we rescued, little dachshunds. One of the boys we have can be loud, and aggressive. My partner and I were very anxious going into this fearful of any lash outs or boy could have. Ricky handled the my boys with tenderness and loving care. By the last day I was told my naughty boy was excited to see him come through the door for their daily walks. You’re amazing Ricky!

Gigi was fantastic. I went on a 5 day trip and I didn't worry about my pets at all. She took plenty of pictures and videos to put me at ease and show that the pets were well taken care of. She followed every instruction I gave her. She left the house as clean as it was when I left, which isn't easy to do in the winter with a German Shepherd that likes to play in the snow and mud. My neighbor even messaged me to say that she was doing a perfect job taking care of the pets. I definitely look forward to hiring Gigi in the future for my travels!

Beverly did a great job taking care of my two high anxiety dogs at our home. She stayed for 3 nights and sent lots of pictures and updates. She left the house exactly as we left it. No problems at all! She was very sweet and professional when I met her for a meet and greet and in all of our correspondence. I will definitely be reaching out to her again for future trips!

About: Hi! My name is Cullen. I'm originally from Vermont, but I'll be spending the summer in Rochester while attending college. I have plenty of experience caring for dogs, including my own 11 year old Goldendoodle as well as sitting for friends and neighbors pets. I've cared for multiple rescue dogs at the same time for extended periods of time, and have experience working with senior and anxious dogs, so I'm comfortable handling a variety of personalities and care needs. I offer overnight stays, drop ins, and walks, and I am capable of administering medications when needed. My goal is to make sure every dog feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you're away. Please feel free to reach out with any questions! I'm currently working part time in the early mornings, so my days are very flexbile. Feel free to reach out with a any questions on availability! When caring for someone elses pets, I prioritize their safety, comfort, and routin. I follow all instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, excercise needs, medication requirements, and any other household norms. For walks and outdoor time, I always use appropriate leashes or harnesses and make sure to remain attentive of your pets behaviors and surroundings. I have experience caring for senior, rescue, and anxious dogs, so I understand the importance of minimizing the stress of both you and your pets by providing reliable care while you are away.

About: I’ve taken care of small to medium dogs since I was 10 years old, didn’t start to officially dog sit until 5 years ago. I grew up with two small senior dogs in my family, so I have a soft spot for senior pups :) I’m currently working full time but WFH on Fridays, so I have my weekends open and weekdays after 5:30 PM! If this aligns with your schedule, I would love to spend time with your pup. I do have a small apartment in Red Hook but my neighborhood has a bunch of parks with shade and lots of grass, so we could spend a lot of time outside!

Parker is the best pet sitter!!! He took great care of our 2 dogs and our cat while we were away for a week. One of my dogs was suffering pretty severe separation anxiety and refusing to eat. Parker communicated with us and we worked together to find a way to get Mooney eating again. Though still anxious, Mooney remained safe and healthy throughout our time away. Parker showed so much patience and kindness and kept us updated with texts and pictures. He took great care of our house and, when we got back, it truly looked like he hadn’t even been there. I’m so grateful we were able to book Parker for the week as he seriously went the extra mile. Of course our animals were happy to see us, but I think our girl dog misses her snuggle buddy!

Kate did a great job caring for our dog, cat, and house! She was reliable and communicative, with lots of photos. One thing that stood out to me was that she shared “bad” news like when my dog didn’t eat a meal. This is typical of my dog, and didn’t alarm me, but it built trust knowing that she told me everything that was going on instead of just saying “he’s great!” We will definitely try to hire Kate again.

Edward stayed with Buddy for five days and kept us up-to-date throughout. Additionally, the house was left in perfect condition. We will certainly use Edward for our next trip away.

She listened carefully to all of our instructions and kept us feeling confident that our dogs were in great hands. Overall, she is simply the best, and we would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving dog sitter.

You can’t ask for a better pet and house sitter than Camille. She took fantastic care of our two dogs, one who insists on being attached and one who can be fussy about wanting to stay outside. Our fussy girl also requires medication daily, which Camille provided. We hope to be lucky enough to book with Camille again.

Whitney did a great job with my very anxious and timid Lily. She kept me up to date and sent photos. She was a last minute sitter and I am so thankful I found her! Whitney said she had a pup like Lily in the past so she knew how to care for Lily. Lily appears well cared for and happy! I would definitely ask Whitney to sit again for Lily!

FAQs for House Sitting - Genesee Junction

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Genesee Junction on Rover is $58.28 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 524 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Genesee Junction. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Genesee Junction walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Genesee Junction maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Genesee Junction choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Genesee Junction. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
