“This was my first time using Rover. Elizabeth made it so easy. I could tell Teddy was comfortable there from the pictures she sent and it was a huge relief to know he was with a family.”

“Thomas was amazing! He sent lots of pictures of fun adventures each day, and was flexible with us when our flight got delayed and we had to change when we were picking our dog up.”

“Our dog had a wonderful week with Kathy & Brian while we were traveling! Kathy & Brian were accommodating to Grizz’s lifestyle and needs (he’s quite large and starting to show his age), and we greatly appreciated the photo updates they provided (Grizz always looked so happy and you could tell how much they were loving on him). They were also very understanding and flexible when our travel plans changed unexpectedly on the last day of our trip. We will definitely be booking with Kathy & Brian again!”

“Cara and Dan were great with Theo. They sent pictures and updates every day. They were very accommodating to our schedule. We felt very comfortable leaving Theo in their care.”

“Aaron took amazing care of Tucker and Lucy! He kept me updated with messages and photos, made sure they were comfortable, and treated them like his own. Both dogs came home happy, calm, and clearly well cared for. I felt completely at ease the whole time. I’ll definitely be booking with him again—highly recommend!”

“Carol is wonderful!!Excellent care for our minature schnauzer . We received a picture with a note everyday . We called to check if she had any questions and she was very receptive and kind. Very safe clean environment . Beautiful back yard for walks . Carol is very knowledgeable about dogs!! Highly recommend !!”

“Another great stay for Diesel when he spent 3 nights with Jeffery. So grateful for the relaxed, knowledgeable environment Jeffery creates. He recognizes the age and stage of my dog and adapts to keep him entertained, and rested. He updates me without asking, and includes daily photos/videos of their activities - including bacon bubbles🙂 Jeffery even takes the time to leave you with a "report card". Brief notes to let you know how your pet did with eating, potty breaks, playing with others and so on. Just a nice extra touch. We'll be back!”
“Erika and her family were great with Parker while we were out of town for the week. She kept me updated with pictures and reassured me that he was settling in well and got along great with her other dogs. Erika is very thorough and took the time to make sure all questions were answered and any special needs were accommodated. We felt very comfortable leaving Parker with her and he had a great time and was well cared for! Thank you!”

“I had a great experience with Kenan and would definitely recommend him. He communicated with me throughout the entire process, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. I also really appreciated that he was able to take my dog on very short notice. My dog has some behavioral issues, and when I explained them, Kenan didn't seem intimidated or put off at all. He was calm, patient, and relaxed, which helped me feel much more comfortable leaving my dog in his care. It was clear that he takes his business seriously and genuinely cares about the animals he watches. The biggest sign that my dog had a great time was when I picked him up—he kept looking back at the house like he wanted to stay! That alone told me he felt safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I wouldn't hesitate to trust Kenan with my dog again.”

“We are so grateful for finding Dianna and Matthew! Our usual boarding facility was unavailable during the timeframe we needed. Luckily Dianna and Matt had availability and we are so glad we took a chance on them! Not only did my dog Stanlee seem to have a peaceful, happy, and safe experience, Dianna was so great about calming my nerves along the way as well-- she would send me numerous updates, pictures, and videos! I was especially grateful to be reassured throughout Stanlee's stay that he was doing great. We will surely be using them again in the future! Thanks again to both of you for taking care of my fluffy baby!”

“Our dog had so much fun while staying at Debra’s over the weekend. She was able to run around in the yard and get in come cuddling time - which Debra sent photos of so we could see how well she was being taken care of. Thank you again! ?”

“We just picked up our two year old Rottweiler and 8 year old Frenchi/Boston from their overnight stay with Garrison. We were very apprehensive as we had a terrible previous experience at a local boarding facility. Garrison was just the person our family needed. Garrison eased our worries and maintained constant communication and updates, including pictures. Both our dogs had a fantastic experience. We look forward to booking Garrison in the future and would highly recommend her services!”

About: Like many others, I am a dog lover and was raised taking care of family dogs. Unlike others, that passion led to training and classes, competing in dog sports, and now, competing in dog shows. I have experience with many breeds of all sizes, senior pet care, reactive dog care and training. I would love to help you with your pet care needs! I work from home, so my schedule is very flexible and I can accommodate most dogs’ needs. I currently have open availability for boarding, daycare, walks, and drop in visits. Dogs are treated like one of my own! I take your dog out for leashed potty breaks several times a day, according to their needs. While I am working, your dog can settle on the couch or one of the many dog beds, or relax and play with my dogs (a Golden Retriever and a Foxhound). If your dog likes the crate, I have an extra for them. When I run errands, your dog will be crated or gated in a separate room from my dogs for safety. I live on 4 acres next and next to a cemetery, so I can take your dog for relaxing walks in a peaceful environment.
About: When I was in middle school, my science teacher went to the Philippines for the whole summer. I took care of her mices, dogs, guinea pigs and more. Growing up in Iowa, I have been around many animals including dogs. Also I have had friends who traveled to Europe and they had to leave their poodles, black labs and many more and trusted their dogs in my care at their home for a month or two weeks if needed when I lived in Washington state before moving to Honeoye Falls. When I dog sat, I made sure I gave medicine as instructed to the dogs as needed. I played with them, took them hiking, the beach, cuddled on the couch and learned about what they liked and don’t like and what makes them happy. I made sure that their owners were happy as well. When I was asked to come and dog sit again, the dogs would be waiting at the window waiting for my arrival. These dogs were sure happy to see me when I came back to dog sit them! I have plenty of time to play with your pups 🐶I would be available for boarding on the weekends and week days after 4pm. I would be happy to give lots of love and attention/play to your fur babies! I have a fenced yard and have two fur babies who love to socialize. I also love to spoil your dogs too! I work from home twice a week and can pet sit on the weekends as well! As for dog sitting in the client’s home I would treat your place with respect, love and care. Anything you need I will make sure that your pets receive it. I will also communicate and send pictures!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
