“Our dog is not easy to watch, but Dixie was went above and beyond. She immediately welcomed Fred into her home and treated him like her own. I really appreciated the updates during his stay, and he honestly didn’t want to leave! Would highly recommend Dixie and hope to be able to book again.”

“Mariema was fantastic! She took our brand new 2 year old rescue with little helpful instructions from us and kept her busy, having fun and getting all that energy depleted each day. We got daily pictures and insights into her behavior. Would highly recommend and will be asking Mariema to keep this whirlwind again for us!”

“Our first time taking a trip without our beloved Rocky. We could not have left him in better hands. The daily updates were great, and he seemed to have a great time. I highly recommend Xiting and would use her services again if she is available.”

“Brittani provided wonderful care to our energetic doodle when we recently passed through town. She sent photos and it was clear that our dog felt very comfortable in her home. Thank you, Brittani!”

“Kim watched Sir Sparklepuff for 17 days, following our relocation. We had been worried about leaving him at such a transitional time, but she made the extra effort of meeting him prior to his stay with her, first in our home, then in her own. His stay seems to have gone quite well -- he was returned to us happy and well-cared for. Kim also sent us daily photos which were absolutely remarkable -- professional quality! She clearly spent time connecting with him, and playing with him. We are sure to use her services again, and cannot recommend her highly enough!”

“Ever since I’ve found Ricardo I’m able to travel without any worries he updates me frequently with pictures and how beans is doing. Glad to have found him and will be using him from here on out 😬”

“We were so pleased with Elizabeth’s care for our dog. He’s older and uncomfortable around other dogs so the fact Elizabeth only keeps one dog at a time is perfect! From the pictures she sent we could tell he was very relaxed and happy. Will definitely use her again.”

“Cara and Dan are wonderful people! They took wonderful care of our dog while we were out at a wedding. If we lived in the area we’d ask them to care for our dog all the time! Thank you Cara and Dan!”

“This was our first time using Rover and we would not hesitate to use Anthony and Jayson again! The communication was amazing and we got lots of pictures. We knew our girl was loved and cared for, and were at ease being so far away. She had a great time!”

“This is a great family home for my dog -- she loved boarding here. Aaron take all your special needs and indulgences into consideration and provides plenty of play opportunities. Just what my little doodle needs!”

“I feel so lucky to have found Lauren and Justin. I am new to the area and this was my first experience leaving Charlie with a new family. I can't imagine a more positive experience. Charlie was well cared for and loved on by Lauren and Justin and their two beautiful daughters. Bonus was their two dogs who became instant playmates. I got regular updates and pictures and was assured all along the way that all was well. I swear there was a tear in Charlie's eye when he had to say good bye and we drove away. Until next time...Grateful!”

“Haley and her fur babies were amazing hosts to my little blind guy Luca. Always sending pictures and updates. Thank you so much for the peace of mind I got while having him stay with you.”

“Crystal watched our 1 year old Shihtzu while we went out of town for my sons wedding - I was very nervous about leaving her since we lost another dog a year ago while a neighbor dog sat. Crystal made me feel very at ease and even sent pictures of our pup enjoying her “vacation” . I would absolutely have her puppy sit again !!”

“Gigi did such a wonderful job caring for my dog, Evee! I dropped Evee off at her home, and right away I could tell she was in a safe, welcoming environment. Gigi was warm, attentive, and made sure to follow Evee’s routine perfectly. She kept me updated and gave Evee plenty of love and attention. When I picked her up, Evee was happy, calm, and clearly well cared for. I’d definitely recommend Gigi to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving sitter!”

“Thomas was wonderful with our airedale terrier. He sent pictures and updates about their adventures. Our dog has food allergies and Thomas was able to make sure he did not come into contact with them. We will look forward to hiring him in the future.”

“My Bernie girl loved her vacation with Miss Debbie! The best parts were zoomies in the backyard and snow, and being so cute that she convinced Miss Debbie to let her in the bed. (Which is an off limits spot.)”

About: I have had a dog my entire life. Many in different shapes and sizes. My last fur baby was my baby before babies and I have experience with obedience training and good citizen training. I am missing the pitter patter of paws in my home and would love to spoil your sweetie! I am currently home full time. I have three children that are 5 and under. I would love to spoil your baby in my caring home. I have a large yard and two story house with a fenced in gated deck for fresh air. I am very active and love walks and hikes!
“This was the first time we left our dog for an extended period and it was nothing less than perfect! Great communication throughout our trip and lots of photos. I would not hesitate to leave Baci here again!”

Amazing amazing amazing Jeffrey is the absolute best with the dogs!! Additionally my truck broke down and I could not get to my dogs so he kept them longer and insured not only that they remained happy not ensured I knew that as he kept sending a ton of fun photos.

Jeffery helped me out in a pinch and watched my dog Ruby for several days. He provided frequent updates and photos during her stay, which helped me feel at ease. You can tell he’s very passionate and thoughtful when it comes to dog care. Lots of activity during the day and other dogs to play with. Ruby seemed to have a wonderful time!

I needed a caregiver for my 10 week dachshund for a 1.5 day event. At first I was very hesitant to leave my little guy with anyone but Jeffery was amazing. He provided such great care from the time i dropped the puppy off to the time i picked him up. Jeffery was very good at providing updates and photos of how well my little guy was doing. We plan on having Jeffery care for our dog for our next event.

Carol is absolutely WONDERFUL!! She is a beautiful person and incredibly loving of our Lani. She’s a great communicator and so considerate of the dogs needs. She gave Lani and bath and even got her a new harness as she had grown out fit the one I sent with her. All around 5* I am so fortunate to have found her!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
