“This was our second visit to Jeffery’s farm and my dogs got so excited when we rounded the corner! My 2 dogs, Birdie, a pittie mix , age 2 and our new gal Pippa, a 5 month old chihuahua mix enjoyed their visit. Jefferey is a natural caregiver and I feel confident that my babies are in the best hands. Jefferey even did an ink and paw print project with my girls and presented the girls will harvest bandanas as a parting gift. Don’t hesitate to book Jefferey for a visit. You will have piece of mind and your pups will thank you!”

“Kate gave excellent care to my two dogs for two days and was super friendly, communicative and responsive. My dogs loved the fenced backyard and were very relaxed when I dropped them off and very chill when I picked them up, so they were obviously happy to be with Kate and family. I highly recommend Kate for dog-care in the Canandaigua area!”

“Charlotte was incredibly responsive when trying to organize a booking and provided numerous updates for me when she was watching Bear. Her attention to detail and care is wonderful and I will absolutely be using Charlotte again for my pup! I highly recommend her services!”

“Samantha is wonderful. Booking was done last-minute, on a holiday, no less. Samantha was kind, responsible, on-time, and would have sent intormation about my dog every 20 minutes if I wanted it. Highly recommend.”

“Dianna provided wonderful care for my pup, Frankie. She sent several pictures and even videos of the fun they were having together. I look forward to booking with her again and would highly recommend her to others needing top notch care for their pet! Lisa”

About: I’ve owned and cared for many types of animals throughout my life. I have experience with dogs, cats, small animals, some birds and reptiles. I am my family’s and neighbors go-to pet sitter. I am looking forward to taking care of your loved pet as well! As a full time caregiver, my schedule can be flexible to fit your specific pet sitting needs. I have a 3 year old Shepard/ Husky mix and a cat that likes to keep to himself. I'd love to stick to your routine as much as possible. If boarding with me, it is important all animals get along and are kid friendly. Please provide any toys/blankets that may help comfort your pup while they stay. Outside time can be on a leash in the backyard, a troll down the sidewalk, or a trip to the park.
“Garrison was excellent with Dan and Maisy. We felt totally comfortable leaving the pups there for the day while we visited friends in the area and when we picked them up they were tired from all the fun they had. Would definitely use her again if in the area!”

“We were visiting the Rochester area and needed someone to watch our labs for a couple hours - Kerrie was so flexible, responsive, and overall wonderful with our two very active and enthusiastic labs. If we’re ever in the area again, I know who we’ll be contacting if we need someone to watch our pups!”

“We can’t believe our luck that we found Ema and her beautiful kids and family to take care of our Coco. We felt that Coco was in perfect care and that is immeasurable assurance is everything. Thank you dear Ema we’re so glad we found you!”

About: As a pet parent of 23 years I understand how much joy our fur friends bring us. Unfortunately sometimes our day to day life prevents us from giving them all the love and attention they deserve. Please allow me to become part of your pals routine. You won’t regret it. I have taken joy in walking, snuggling, feeding, and caring for my pets over the years. I enjoy being outside and walking daily and I would love new company! With your permission I can take your dogs to some of my favorite walking spots in the area. Work with me and you will see for yourself my punctuality, enthusiasm and commitment to keeping your fur baby happy and healthy. Feel free to message me anytime during the service for your pet pics, updates, and any other information. Whenever you need me give me a call! I’m currently working from home via computer so I have very flexible availability. However I am a mom so if you request a overnight stay I would have to bring her with me. Don’t hesitate to reach out anytime. At home my furry friends are kept in our fenced in yard and on the leash on walks. I would keep the same commit to your dogs.
“Dixie was super sweet and is a lovely sitter! Our two big girls looked like they had a really good time! Dixie also give us some news during the day for us to know everything was doing great ? Would really recommend her!! ?”

“Sara set our minds at ease with her obvious compassion for our pet. The photos and video she sent us convinced us that Coco had found his new "Favorite Place". Thank you Sara, we look forward to seeing you again soon!”

About: I have been taking care of animals since I was a small child; constantly rescuing, nurturing and loving animals in need! I have compassion for all animals, big and small, but have a special place for dogs in my heart. If your dog is to board with me I will treat them as if they were my own. I want them to be as comfortable in my home as possible, so that means keeping them on the same schedule they follow at your house, letting them on the furniture and giving them lots of attention and nurturing. I firmly believe all animals deserve to be treated with respect and kindness. I also enjoy exercising - especially running and hiking!! I'm enthusiastic to hike, walk, walk/jog or run with your dog depending on their size, age and health. I love nothing more than starting and ending my day with exercise and having a pup to accompany me. I live with my husband who is an avid dog lover and currently works from home, so he is here almost all hours throughout the day and loves to help out with the dogs. So no worries about your dog not getting enough exercise! Will get plenty here. I am a stay at home mom, so I am always home! Your fur baby will never be left alone here! I am always here throughout the day, so whatever your fur baby needs, I am available for! My son LOVES dogs, so they will fit it amazing here! I treat every dog as if they're my own. They will get treated like kings/queens with us! Whatever your normal schedule is, I will do my best to recreate that for them.
About: I have taken care of small and large breeds of dogs since the young age of seven. As soon as I was able to as an adult I rescued a dog and a cat because no home is complete without the pitter-patter of furry feet. My pets are more than pets, they're family, and yours will be treated just the same when they're in my care. I am currently working part time at the library two doors down from my home so have plenty of time to care for your furry friend. I have a beagle/poodle mix that is two years old that loves to have friends to play with. He sleeps in the bed, but if you prefer your doggie to be crated I can do that too. I also have a 9 year old cat that thinks she's the mommy of the house. She is always cuddling the dog and bathing him.

About: I’ve always had a dog since I was born until I moved to Buffalo for school. I currently work a full time hybrid job where I am home most days with a pretty flexible schedule. Due to recent life changes, I no longer have my own pet and am really missing having a buddy at home. Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Shortsville
Flora gets so excited when we tell her she is going to play with her friends and Jeffrey, she tends to be attached to us but willingly gets out of the car and wants to go play when we arrive. He always sends photos of her throughout the day. We are so happy we have found him and would recommend him to anyone.

Truly Professional and Caring After a terrible experience with another sitter, we brought Bunny to Jeffery—and the difference was night and day. Jeffery truly knows what he’s doing when it comes to caring for dogs and other animals. Bunny spent the day happily playing with four other dogs, and it was clear that Jeffery understands proper introductions, group dynamics, and how to make every dog feel comfortable. He is professional, attentive, and genuinely cares for the well-being of the pets in his care. I felt completely at ease knowing Bunny was safe, happy, and in a positive environment. I highly recommend Jeffery to anyone looking for a reliable and skilled dog sitter.

Jeffrey has watched my dog Stella for me multiple times now and he is the absolute best! He communicates a lot with pictures and videos of her when I'm away, which always eases my mind. As soon as we pull into the driveway, she gets so excited for a play date with Jeffrey and all the other dogs he watches. It is important to me that she enjoys her doggy day care sessions. I love how much he loves the dogs he watches and he takes such good care of them. I wouldn't even consider taking her anywhere else!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
