About: What sets me apart is my reliability, communication, and experience caring for others. As a youth sports director and coach, I am responsible for the safety and well-being of over 100 children, which has taught me the importance of trust, consistency, and attention to detail. I bring those same qualities to pet care. I understand that every pet has a unique personality and routine, and I take the time to learn what makes them comfortable and happy. Whether your pet is energetic and loves long walks, a young puppy working on routines and basic manners, or a senior pet that needs a little extra patience and care, I am committed to providing personalized attention. I am active, dependable, and highly organized, and I pride myself on keeping pet owners updated with photos, messages, and regular check-ins so you can feel confident that your pet is in good hands. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, loved, and cared for while you're away. Pet care fits very well into my daily routine. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide consistent attention, exercise, and companionship throughout the day. As a coach and sports program director, I am highly organized and accustomed to planning my schedule around the needs of others. I enjoy being active and spending time outdoors, so regular walks, playtime, and exercise are something I genuinely look forward to. I also understand the importance of maintaining a pet's routine, whether that means feeding schedules, medication administration, potty breaks, or simply providing companionship and affection. I make it a priority to give every pet the attention and care they deserve and to keep owners updated with messages and photos so they can have peace of mind while they're away. When caring for pets in a client's home, my goal is to keep their routine as consistent as possible so they feel comfortable and secure while their owners are away. I follow all instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, exercise needs, medication administration (if needed), and any special preferences or routines. During visits, I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, playtime, exercise, and affection. I also monitor their behavior and well-being to ensure they are happy and healthy. I understand that pets can experience stress when their owners are away, so I focus on providing a calm, positive, and caring environment. I treat every home with respect and care, keeping things clean and secure while I'm there. Communication is important to me, so I provide regular updates, photos, and messages so owners can feel confident knowing their pets are safe and well cared for. Whether it's an energetic dog that needs extra exercise, a cat that prefers quiet companionship, or a senior pet that requires a little extra patience and attention, I adapt my care to meet each pet's individual needs.
About: First, what sets us apart is that we can provide pet care for many animals, not just dogs and cats. If you are someone who needs care for all of your pets such as fish, birds, and small rodents. We are very comfortable with that and we think it would be fun to provide those services too! We have been dog sitting together for friends for over the past 7 years. Kate has been for over 20 years. We live in Rochester and are "all in" with pet care. James works at an elementary school and helps out at home in the evenings. Kate is a full-time student working on her dissertation. We are able to house sit at our clients house and we fit our daily routine with wherever we are at in the city. We always make sure that the area is “pet-proofed”. Meaning that there are no choking hazards or other things that they can get to. Keeping the home tidy and clean is very important to us.
About: I've had animals my entire life, with my first pet being a rabbit named Angel! For the past three years, I've worked professionally in animal care, gaining experience with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs. I'm also experienced in caring for a variety of small animals, including rabbits, rodents, reptiles, and birds in both a professional and personal setting. I am Fear-Free certified and have an in-depth understanding of canine body language and regularly work with dogs that have handling sensitivities, food or resource guarding behaviors, and stranger or dog reactivity. My experience also includes working in zoological settings, and I currently care for dogs, cats, and small animals in an animal shelter. I have a deep respect for every animal I meet and strive to provide compassionate, attentive care to everyone—from the tiniest mouse to the largest Great Dane. Reptiles hold a special place in my heart, so you can trust that I'll love and care for your scaly babies as if they were my own! I work professionally in animal care three days a week and would love to spend my extra time helping care for your fur, feathered, and scaly companions! I’m passionate about providing loving, attentive care to every animal I meet. Your pet's safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. As a Fear Free Certified animal care professional, I use low-stress handling techniques and adapt my approach to each pet's individual personality and needs. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, or has special behavioral or medical considerations, I'm committed to providing calm, compassionate care. I'll always follow your care instructions closely and keep your pet's routine as consistent as possible while you're away. You can also expect regular updates and photos, so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy and well cared for. I require an in-home meet and greet with all new dog friends to make sure they're comfortable with me entering their space while you're away.
“Kelli went above and beyond to take care of my cat while I was out of town. I left an incorrect key to my building for her, and she found out what door the key did open and still made every visit. My cat is not very easy going and I appreciated all her care with my cat and communication with me.”

“Lindsey was great! Our meet and great went well and i felt right away that she was perfect. She has the experience and background that made me comfortable. Lindsey followed all of my crazy long notes and specifications. She did everything we asked and how we wanted it. I was able to be at work and not have to worry about the care my (fur)kids were receiving, I received good updates and detailed post visit notes. We are very cautious on who we let in our home and with our dogs. But I am extremely happy and confident with Linsey. We already booked her for our next two visits.”

About: Hello! I am a PhD student at UofR who enjoys spending time outdoors and caring for pets. I'm turning to Rover to find new clients after previously babysitting both cats and dogs in my apartment building, whose owners have recently moved away. I enjoy taking dogs on long walks and hikes, and have experience with many animals, having spent most of my life on a farm. I would love the opportunity to care for your pets and keep them happy and active! I am happy to provide references. As a student, my schedule is busiest midweek, but I have plenty of free time on weekends and can easily accommodate mornings and evenings. Mondays and Fridays are also more flexible, making them great days for drop-ins, walks, or house sitting visits. I want to make sure your pets feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I do have a car and can transport larger dogs if needed, but I usually prefer caring for pets in their own home. I can do drop-in visits, house sitting, and taking dogs on walks in your neighborhood or mine (wherever they feel most at ease).

“Geoff is the best!!! We were away for multiple weeks, but our kitties were very well taken care of. Geoff is very communicative, consistent, and sent adorable check-in pics of the cats every day. When the cats were getting rebellious due to us being out of town longer than normal, Geoff made the time to check on them twice a day. Our apartment was in great shape upon return (and we really appreciate him scooping the litter box daily)! It's hard to find a sitter as reliable and kind as Geoff!”
“Grace is absolutely wonderful. This is the first time I've ever used Rover and Grace was the best person I could have found. I have senior pets and getting several updates a day seeing that they are happy and soooooooo well taken care of means that I was able to be relaxed while out of town. As long as she is willing I will hire Grace anytime I need someone to watch my pets. She is so sweet and did a great job..even my anti social cat loved her (more than he loves me, which was hurtful and I will be having a conversation with him lol) Thank you, thank you THANK YOU Grace for being the best sitter anyone could ask for!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - East Rochester
I can’t say enough good things about Steph. She does a midday check-in for our 1 yo Australian shepherd a few days a week and he absolutely loves her. He can be a little particular about who he decides is part of the pack and Steph was able to warm him up very quickly, no doubt due to her extensive experience with animals. Steph’s communication is excellent, she’s willing to tailor her service to our dog’s needs and I have total peace of mind leaving our fur baby in her hands because she’s proven to be capable and dependable. She’s even brought one of her dogs and/or kids along sometimes to help us socialize him because I mentioned he struggled with those things. 10/10 would recommend booking Steph.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
