About: I was born and raised to love dogs. I grew up in a household that bred Rottweilers and I could not be anymore grateful for the lessons of love and care for animals it instilled in me. I began caring for other's pets when I was in high school. Over a decade later I have had experience in short and long-term overnight care/house sitting, day-visits, walks, and some medication administration for pets of all ages and sizes. I have a special spot in my heart for senior pets and giving them the extra love and care they deserve. I know that every home and pet has unique needs and ways to be taken care of. I believe with clear communication I am able to approach each new pet care situation with confidence that we can both feel when you leave your loved ones in my care! I am currently just working part time and have lots of flexibility/weekend availability. I love to take early morning walks with dogs, especially given that it's summer I keep the heat in mind and have availability during the cooler hours. I have reliable transportation to come to your home! I am a very organized and clean person so if I am welcomed into your home I assure it will be treated with respect and care. For walks I believe I am very observant and aware of my surroundings, ensuring safety for both myself and your pet(s).

Emily is AMAZING!!! Not only do our pups love her, but so do we!!! I can't so enough positive things about Emily, her updates made us laugh, and helped us to not miss our pups as much. She was also very proactive in alerting us to a ground bee nest, and was ready just in case one of the dogs was stung. I felt very comfortable leaving our pups in her care for the week, and plan to use her again in December!

Mark continues to impress me as an amazing dog sitter. He is prompt, courteous and leaves my house spotless. Mila adores Mark and it says so much that he engages in her endless request to play ball the entire time he is with her. Knowing that Mila is in Mark's care allows me to focus on work. I feel so blessed that we found such a wonderful pet sitter. Thank you Mark!

About: New to Rover! I have 20+ years, like most of you, taking care of dogs (all ages & size) walking, training & loving. Raised in Rochester & know all the best parks & trails. I have an SUV and don’t mind taking the dogs places if requested. Night shift worker during the week, I make lots of time for my puppy at home and would love to make time for your dog during the day. I’m available all days of the week, unfortunately that doesn’t mean I’m available all the time but can make time each day of the week if necessary. Just reach out, your odds are high that I can help I know how important pets are to everyone’s family and will treat yours like you do at home, or better :) Learning your dogs behavior is a key to success, the more information the better (behavior around dogs, people, children, chewing, barking) to know if they are acting different in any way. I get excited each time I meet new parents of dogs, i wouldn’t trust some nobody with my dog unless I got to know them first, I am in my mid twenties and have lived in pittsford/penfield for most of life, I do not drink if that matters to you, I’d say based off appearance I look pretty clean unless it’s cold out then you may only be seeing what’s visible under my hood or hat. I’m well educated in the do’s and don’ts on what is safe and unsafe for dogs and puppies to accidentally eat. Coming from a family that has dealt with Lyme Disease I take precaution in where my dogs are roaming, and always checking my puppy and past dogs constantly for ticks

We were so lucky to find Emily here on Rover! She was wonderful with our dog Luke while we were out of town for our daughter's wedding. She sent updates and pictures after each visit so we could relax and enjoy the festivities knowing that Luke was being so well taken care of. I can't thank Emily enough and we'll most definitely contact her again in the future. Thank you again Emily and Rover.com, you're the best!

I live in a home in Rochester, where it has been pet proofed for other pets including a puppy. I have owned multiple pets since I was born and had many different experiences watching my own as well as others pets! I love hanging with dogs, taking them trail walking & giving them lots of love and cuddles. Providing dogs with human interaction to be a friendly lovable pet is one of the most valuable things we can provide our pets with. I hope to meet you and your pup soon! I live in an spacious house on a nice side street where your dog and I can easily access outdoors, parks, and spend time on strolls in the neighborhood. My yard is partially enclose to encourage your dog feel safe in the yard but will be on a leash since the yard is not completely enclosed. I have a puppy myself and always prioritize his needs (feeding, bathroom breaks, etc). Schedules are always planned in advance to keep the dog in mind and ensure they are accommodated for. Our dog gets walked daily every morning to start the day off strong! We have space to separate your dog and/or crate them if needed. My yard is partially enclose to encourage your dog feel safe in the yard but will be on a leash since the yard is not completely enclosed. About: I have owned Dogs all my life. I believe that immediate recall is the most important tool for all Dog owners. I also believe in challenging Dogs brains with games like find it hide and seek. A tired Dog at the end of each day is a happy Dog. I exercise my Dog every day. I have a Doberman she is the start and end to my Day. With high energy Dogs they need lots of body and mind stimulation to maintain a healthy Dog . I treat each Dog as if they were my own. Well trained well exercised and most importantly immediate recall. If your Dog doesn’t have immediate recall when I meet them. They will the first time I watch them. To me that is the most significant training tool for every Dog owners including myself.

About: I love my dogs and I would like to pamper yours in the comfort of their own home during a drop in visit or a four hour day visit. I have 27 years of experience with canines and raised my pup into the dog as seen in the black and white photo. I had a senior dog of his breed years ago. I can do basic training, if you wish, with positive methods: sit, drop, shake, down, stay, etc. I will feed your dog or puppy as per your instructions. Playtime is always a good time when I am around! We have our doggy spa days every 5 weeks: nails, a bath, & a cookie or two. Nap time is at 3PM at home. Cookies/treats are given for training and are a positive reinforcement method. Within the past year, I crate trained my older dog, so that she would go potty outside. She started to forget what to do. I have a fence at my home. My dogs love the fresh air and to chase after the occasional ball. My Polish Hound uses a probiotic in his food for his sensitive stomach. My older Staffie occasionally likes her "special" food. So, I sometimes add a Milo's meatball to her food. Simparica Trio keeps them healthy and happy.

Lindsey was great! Our meet and great went well and i felt right away that she was perfect. She has the experience and background that made me comfortable. Lindsey followed all of my crazy long notes and specifications. She did everything we asked and how we wanted it. I was able to be at work and not have to worry about the care my (fur)kids were receiving, I received good updates and detailed post visit notes. We are very cautious on who we let in our home and with our dogs. But I am extremely happy and confident with Linsey. We already booked her for our next two visits.

I can’t say enough good things about Steph. She does a midday check-in for our 1 yo Australian shepherd a few days a week and he absolutely loves her. He can be a little particular about who he decides is part of the pack and Steph was able to warm him up very quickly, no doubt due to her extensive experience with animals. Steph’s communication is excellent, she’s willing to tailor her service to our dog’s needs and I have total peace of mind leaving our fur baby in her hands because she’s proven to be capable and dependable. She’s even brought one of her dogs and/or kids along sometimes to help us socialize him because I mentioned he struggled with those things. 10/10 would recommend booking Steph.

I only expected someone to stop in briefly to feed our two cats for a few days, but Rylee really did make herself their bff ! She was thoughtful with their feeding as one gets sick if he overeats and the other was on a new diet. She spent lots of time giving them attention and cuddles, and engaging them in play. She was respectful of our home and is an excellent and responsive communicator. From now on I can rest easy knowing who I’m going to contact for a friendsitter for Jet and Marvin—Rylee all the way. Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a East Rochester stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
