Lindsey was great! Our meet and great went well and i felt right away that she was perfect. She has the experience and background that made me comfortable. Lindsey followed all of my crazy long notes and specifications. She did everything we asked and how we wanted it. I was able to be at work and not have to worry about the care my (fur)kids were receiving, I received good updates and detailed post visit notes. We are very cautious on who we let in our home and with our dogs. But I am extremely happy and confident with Linsey. We already booked her for our next two visits.

If I could give Kayligh more then 5 stars I would. She did drop in visits for 2 full weeks for my 2 cats, and she did an excellent job. She is kind, courteous, and caring. She communicated with me each day about her visit with them, and sent many pictures which is so appreciated! My one cat is very shy and he actually came out and played/spent time with her, which is something he doesn’t even do with my family members. I can’t thank Kayligh enough for what a wonderful job she did. I will definitely work with her again and would recommend her to anyone.

About: Me: I’ve loved and taken care of pets since I was very young! We always had several pets in the home growing up including cats, pregnant cats, kittens, dogs of all sizes, birds (parakeets and a parrot), fish, gerbils and even mice. I’m a recently retired massage therapist and yoga teacher and will offer an approach of ease, relaxation and joy to your pets - that is my style! I’m very punctual, organized and reliable as I’ve run my own holistic health care small business for over 20 years. Current: More recently I’ve raised several cats from kitten-hood through end of life and adopted a young feral cat that was able to become domesticated. My husband and I help the community/feral cats in our neighborhood every day with food and outdoor shelter. Cat Care Experience: We had three senior cats that all lived to be about 18 years old, so have lots of experience with senior pets that have chronic and acute health conditions. This includes: feline respiratory disease, kidney disease, late in life/late stage FIV, thyroid disease, UTIs, dehydration, and pain management. Our cat Luna needed saline infusions for kidney disease frequently at home so I’m very comfortable giving cats intramuscular fluids via a bag/giving set. I’m also very well practiced in administering cats medications both oral and topical, cat inhalers and grooming cats (basic grooming). If there is another health condition your cat has please contact me and we can discuss their needs, I’m not squeamish and with a strong background in health I can learn quickly about your pets conditions - if you need help with medical pet care even while you are home I can assist with that - sometimes it takes two people to treat the cats we love so much! Contact me to discuss the situation! Small Dog Care Experience: I’ve been helping my family and friends out with their dogs forever, including day visits and long term pet sitting for dogs of all ages and puppies. Currently I can only help with puppies and small dogs 15 pounds and under. Due to some arthritis I’m unable to walk the dogs that are larger than 15 pounds, but would love to help with puppies and small breeds! This includes walks, home visits and medication administration. Other small pets: I can also do visits for basic bird care, fish/aquarium and small mammal care. Medical Transport/Vet Visits: I’m happy to discuss pet transportation to their local vets and groomers as needed. Contact me for review of your pet’s transport needs! I’m recently retired so am very flexible after 12pm most days. I can do weekends with some lead time, and later evenings if needed. Contact me to discuss availability. I care very deeply about our furry friends and will treat them with the same love, care and understanding I would give my own pets. One of my favorite quotes about pet care is “you can’t get mad at a dog for being a dog”. In our home the cats ruled and even have a catio for safe outdoor time. I hope to share a sense of love and joy with all fur babies I meet! I’m also very respectful and tidy and will take care of your home as well as your pets!

Riley puts me at ease when I have to leave Spade (my 14 yr old Bombay male cat). She keeps me updated with photos and a narrative of what took place. She goes beyond and even cleans any mess he’s created. She is always punctual and attentive to his needs. I will recommend her with a glowing review and hope to book her on my next trip out of town. About: I grew up in a family with plenty of dogs, cats, and other critters and spent lots of time in 4-H clubs and at horse stables before I started fostering dogs at 15. Over about 3 years, I was the primary caregiver to 14 foster dogs ranging from 10-pound Chihuahuas to 90-pound American Bulldogs and from puppies to seniors. Having had difficult pasts before making it into a rescue, most of those dogs had some behavioral or medical issues (and often a combination of the two), so I built plenty of patience around training and even more familiarity with medical regimens. After graduating high school, I continued pet-sitting the cats and dogs of friends, neighbors, and family whenever I had a chance. Now that I’ve got a typical full-time job, I love using my weekends and evenings looking after other's pets! I work Mon-Fri 7:00am-3:30pm, so I'm typically only available evenings and nights during the week, but am also willing to make early mornings work under particular circumstances. If you're within the city of Rochester, I may be able to make brief mid-day stops even on days I'm working. Happy to discuss details and find flexible solutions for everyone involved! In a client’s home for housesitting or drop-ins, I like to make sure pets are engaged and having fun so they have a full day even when their people aren’t around. I’m also happy to incorporate any training regimens a client is trying to establish. During over-night stays, I’m used to waking up for frequent potty breaks or for medical needs. I also stay very conscious of what will make the pets most comfortable and establish trust with them – whether that means giving them space or letting them stick with me 24/7 – so missing their family is as minimally stressful as possible. For walking services, I’m happy to adjust our pace and distance to make sure pets have all their excess energy out by the time they get home. I'm a runner so that includes runs for high-energy dogs. If a senior pet just likes to get outside during the day without the focus on exercise, I keep a very close eye on their energy level to make sure we take appropriate breaks or wrap up the walk before they push their limits. At the end of the day/visit, I like to give clients a recap of what their pets were up to, including the big and small things, just to make sure everyone’s in the loop and knows what’s going on in their pet’s life.

My mom has done Rover for over 4 years but recently retired to be a full time Grandma! I have a front yard and small backyard as well that is fenced in.

About: During my youth I was surrounded by all sorts of animals. My dad took in cats and my mom fostered dogs. Living in the country, a few of my friends had farms with an assortment of animals. My junior and senior year of high school I moved to Tennessee and enrolled in 4-H. My family started a little farm of our own. Which included goats and chickens. I had planned to go to veterinary school. I ended up having to move back to New York. There were a few animals that stuck out to me while growing up. First my all black main coon. She was my first animal. A Rottweiler named Brutus, he ate every left shoe. My first ever coon hound mix. His name was Eli. During my middle school times I received two mastiff pit bull puppies for Christmas. I raised both of them. Once they were trained, one of them was given to my great grandfather as a companion. The other stayed with me until my father’s dog passed and he eventually took my dog. They are ever happy together. After high school I spent most of my time working. Making ends meet. From waitressing to working at a hospital as a patient care technician. May of 2025 I moved to Georgia and was expecting a little boy in August. My mother does rover and she had gifted me the information to maybe help my situation. I had a few under the table clients down in Georgia and I found that I throughly enjoyed spending time with animals. I remember why I wanted to go to veterinary school. Come August of 2025 I had my son. Fast forward to now(2026) I’m back in NY and would love to find some new fury friends. I can be very flexible. I do have a baby that would most likely come with me. He is good around animals. We have a German shepherd Akita at home and I would never allow anything to happen. Setting boundaries and keep the separation is always a priority. If that’s not a problem, I can come by any time of the day. I have reliable and consistent transportation. Regardless if I’m just stopping in or staying, I always respect and try to leave your home in a better condition that I found it. Making sure there’s a safe environment. Your fur baby is happy and loved.

About: I have been taking care of dogs since I was 12. I looked after neighborhood dogs when the family would be out of town. I walk them, feed them, play with them, and have had dogs stay with me at my home. I take care of my own dog and we are very active. Being active is part of my dog’s breed and is something I could provide for animals that are at home while owners are at work or out of town. I live in a townhome with one dog that will keep your pet busy! Sage loves to play, run, and swim. As far as going to other homes I have stayed in the home for a couple hours playing with the animals. Either one works for me. When we do have another dog stay with us, we constantly stay active and also have time for rest. Dog parks, hikes, walking on the beach, are some examples of activities that I have done with other dogs.

Tatiana is an awesome pet sitter. I’ve booked her twice to do check ins on my cat, Percy. My cat is still pretty young and very hyper, and I know he has a lot of anxiety when I leave (and therefore I have anxiety leaving him lol). Tatiana has gone out of her way to give Percy a lot of attention and care when I am gone, and leaves extremely detailed reports of her visits. I would 10/10 recommend this sitter!

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Rush stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rush choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Rush with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rush. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
