“Thomas was wonderful with our airedale terrier. He sent pictures and updates about their adventures. Our dog has food allergies and Thomas was able to make sure he did not come into contact with them. We will look forward to hiring him in the future.”

“Kate was amazing throughout our entire experience with Rover! She communicated with us at all times, sent us pictures & videos and made sure our dog was comfortable during the entire stay. She definitely went above and beyond, we highly recommend Kate! It was our first time leaving our dog with someone and even using the app, and we had a great first experience.”

“Garrison and her family very kindly agreed to watch Luna at the last minute, and it was a wonderful experience. Garrison made it so easy and sent us pictures of Luna loving the backyard. When she got home she was absolutely exhausted from having such a good time!”

About: I've loved dogs since childhood and have always had one by my side. Right now, I have a toy poodle, so I understand the unique needs of small breeds firsthand—from their exercise requirements to their more delicate care compared to larger dogs. Because of this, I'm especially comfortable and confident caring for small dogs under 20 lbs. What sets me apart is the personal, hands-on experience I bring: I know how to read small dogs' body language, keep them calm around bigger animals, and give them the gentle, attentive care they thrive on. I'm patient, observant, and treat every dog like my own poodle—with genuine affection and close attention to their comfort and safety. I work from home. So I will be able to take care of your pet. If you have something on weekend or on Holiday then you can rely on me I have a toy poodle who is very friendly. He loves to play. If your pup is not aggresive then he will be safe here. I can give your food or my pets food.
“Thank you Tetiana for taking care Lico! We felt so happy to see him relaxed and comfortable. Everything was great, thanks for the communication and attention all the time.”

“Kristine was so wonderful with Maui. He had so much fun. She kept him occupied, exercised and took great care of him. And above all, when he got dirty from all those things, she actually bathed him for us, so we got back a fresh smelling puppy! So grateful for this as we were not looking forward to bathing him today. She went above and beyond, followed our recommendations and sent us constant updates. I highly recommend her.”

“Amber did a great job taking care of our two pups for a couple of days! They got lots of socializing with the whole family. Her dog and cat got a long very well with our dogs and we got photo and text updates. Would recommend and plan on booking with Amber again!”

“Our first time taking a trip without our beloved Rocky. We could not have left him in better hands. The daily updates were great, and he seemed to have a great time. I highly recommend Xiting and would use her services again if she is available.”

“Rebecca was great! Kept me updated and sent pictures multiple times a day. Our dog was well cared for and loved while we were away! Thank you so much for for caring for our baby!”

“She was amazing with max. Took him for rides, he played with other dogs and enjoyed being there alot. I will definitely be having her watch him again. She would send updates, videos, and pictures of max too.”

“Scout had a GREAT stay! We really appreciated the meet and greet and trial stay--we felt much more comfortable leaving Scout because he had a great time and was excited to go back☺️ The multiple (and detailed) updates per day were great and we LOVED the Christmas picture❤️ We'd definitely recommend!”

“Fitzy boy had so much fun and I got so many pictures! Thank you for the best time, I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for fitz as I was nervous leaving him for the first time!”

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
