“Amber was amazing! Took care of our big boy Gryffin while we were out of town. She sent frequent updates and pictures. He had a blast and I didn’t have to worry at all during the time we were gone. Would absolutely use again!”

“Tetiana takes wonderful care of dogs. She is patient, gentle, and pays attention to each pet's personality. Our Altai quickly got used to her and was always happy after walks and playtime”

“Our dog Comet came home after a week and was in the best overall condition ever. He just went about normally and was just in great shape. No anxiety or tiredness. When we picked him up he was part of the household and just showed he was totally comfortable in the house.”

“I had a great experience with Kenan and would definitely recommend him. He communicated with me throughout the entire process, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. I also really appreciated that he was able to take my dog on very short notice. My dog has some behavioral issues, and when I explained them, Kenan didn't seem intimidated or put off at all. He was calm, patient, and relaxed, which helped me feel much more comfortable leaving my dog in his care. It was clear that he takes his business seriously and genuinely cares about the animals he watches. The biggest sign that my dog had a great time was when I picked him up—he kept looking back at the house like he wanted to stay! That alone told me he felt safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I wouldn't hesitate to trust Kenan with my dog again.”
“I’m above and beyond satisfied with Kaitlyn, She showed my little guy much love during his stay. Kaitlyn was consistent with providing text and video, I was able to enjoy my time away knowing my little guy was in safe hands and environment. Thanks Kaitlyn !!! You’re the best!!!!!”

“Fabiola is awesome. She took great care my cat, Milo, for several weeks. She was happy to accommodate late minute request to extend the stay. She's very patient and looks like my cat enjoyed his stay with her.”

“Rebecca was simply wonderful. She was incredible with communication and sent us tons of pictures of our baby while we were away. She’s a very loving caregiver, and we would use her again in a heartbeat.”

About: Hi! I’m Brandon, and I know how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pet. I work full-time as an event coordinator in Rochester, which means I’m organized, dependable, and comfortable managing responsibilities while providing great customer service. I’ve always enjoyed being around dogs and understand that every pet has a different personality and routine. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or just wants company and attention, I’ll make sure they feel safe and cared for while you’re away. I’m an active person who enjoys being outdoors, so I’m happy to provide energetic walks as well as slower-paced strolls for senior dogs. I’ll treat your pet with the same care and respect I’d want someone to show my own. When you book with me, you can expect: * Plenty of updates and photos during every visit. * Reliable, on-time arrivals. * Respect for your home and your pet’s routine. * Clear communication before, during, and after each booking. My schedule is also very flexible. I work from home three days a week, which allows me to accommodate a variety of walking, drop-in, and pet care requests throughout the day. Whether you need a midday walk, evening visit, or weekend care, I’ll do my best to work around your pet’s routine and provide dependable, consistent care. I look forward to meeting you and your best friend! I’m currently working full time at University of Rochester. I work from home 3 days a week, which makes my schedule flexible during the week. I also have weekends off for the most part. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. My home is clean, smoke-free, and has a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time. I understand that every dog has their own routine, and I’ll do my best to keep them comfortable and stress-free. If I’m caring for your pet in your home, I’ll treat your space with the same respect and care I would my own.
“Kate and family took great care of our dog Arlo while we went on vacation. We received daily updates, and our kids especially loved the pictures/videos. We will definitely be returning customers. Thank you Kate!”

About: I come from a family who has always had multiple pets at a time, with anywhere from 3 to 10 foster dogs under our care at any given time! I’ve cared for a wide range of dogs from smaller poodles and Shih tzus to much larger retrievers, border collies, and German shepherds. I have experience with cats as well, but much more lengthy experience taking care of dogs of different sizes and temperaments :) I am a med student so my schedule varies in flexibility but I live in a very walkable area and typically spend a lot of time at home studying! I love taking long walks in between classes and studying and would love to bring a furry friend along with me :) As I do have to be in classes some days for a few hours (no more than 3-4 at a time), i am better boarding pets who can be left alone for a couple hours. As for my home, I have plenty of space for them to run around freely.
“Jesse was fantastic with Bear, sent photos while we were away and Bear was in great spirits when we picked him up. It was awesome for Bear to play with other dogs as well.”

“David was amazing! He was super accommodating about a last minute booking, and sent lots of sweet pics of my pup having fun and getting loved on. He came back tired from all the playing and fun he had.”

“Megan is great with Austin. They both bonded very well. Her own Dog Murphy is very friendly and became a good friend to Austin. I can definitely ash Megan for my fitt”

“Our dog had a wonderful week with Kathy & Brian while we were traveling! Kathy & Brian were accommodating to Grizz’s lifestyle and needs (he’s quite large and starting to show his age), and we greatly appreciated the photo updates they provided (Grizz always looked so happy and you could tell how much they were loving on him). They were also very understanding and flexible when our travel plans changed unexpectedly on the last day of our trip. We will definitely be booking with Kathy & Brian again!”

“Tyler and Melissa are great. Leo runs into their house when we get there even though it’s been a few months since he last saw them. They take great care of Leo and it feels great to have him so well taken care of.”

“Had a great experience with Patrick. We had an unplanned trip for family reasons and had to find a sitter for Whiskey (1yo unfixed cav) a day before leaving. Patrick was very accommodating with this last minute booking and extending Whiskey's stay for another night. Whiskey had an awesome time playing with Moose. We got updates with pictures and videos. We're definitely going to book again for other trips”

“My dog has never been happier besides me the pics I’ve seen made me feel so confident and comfortable with Rachel taking care of my baby boy he stayed active and she gave him the same level of care that I would have and khai her fur baby added the love to all the fun he had and in the pics she sent we will be seeing her again thanks for the love and care it is appreciated!!!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
