About: I have always had dogs and cats as a part of my family and I also spent a lot of time cat sitting for friends and family. My family fostered puppies and dogs for several years through a local organization! I am in school studying animal behavior and have done an internship at a cat shelter giving enrichment and behavior training to the particularly shy cats. I work part time, only 3-5 hours a day at a shop a few minutes from my house. Other than work and quick errands from time to time I’m home full time otherwise! I have a huge backyard that is not fenced in, however your pet would have full on leash supervised access to the yard! I have an older cat who gets along very well with other animals.

Haley and Amanda were great daycare hosts for our dog Jager! We booked a VERY last minute daycare with them and they were exceptional. Pickup and drop off were seamless, there was active communication throughout the day and photos of Jager playing with their dogs. 10/10 experience and I would absolutely book with her again. :)

About: Hi there! I would love to provide a clean and home-like environment for your pets. I have over 25 years of caring for all types of animals. Available for boarding dogs and cats, house sitting(I’m unable to accommodate staying overnights), and drop-ins! Your pets will feel right at home in my care with all the attention and love they deserve! I am super fun to be around and I'm very active so your pet won't be bored or ever feel alone. I live on an acre with lots of open space for walks and playtime. I am currently not working so my schedule is very flexible. Pet care is built into my daily routine—it’s a priority, not a task. From morning walks to evening feedings and playtime, I schedule my day around each pet’s individual needs to ensure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for. Whether in my home or a client’s, I provide consistent, personalized care. I follow each pet’s routine closely—feeding, walks, playtime, and medication if needed—while keeping their environment clean, safe, and stress-free. My goal is to make them feel as comfortable and loved as they do with their own family.

We were passing through Rochester and really needed a very trustworthy sitter for our highly separation anxious three legged Jack. So when we found Alex and Bethany and Jack trotted off with them with no anxiety, we knew we'd found the right match. These people clearly have the magic touch and the dedication to take care of any creature with any kind of special need. So I would recommend them a million times over. Honestly feeling kind of bummed we dont live in Rochester and therefore cant call on them more often.

Alex and Bayern were both amazing hosts. We were in town for a wedding and didn’t want to leave Ziggy by himself. They took really great care of Ziggy and made him (and us) feel at home. We would highly recommend them and we’ll always return to them whenever we’re back in town. Thank you being such amazing hosts and taking care of Ziggy!

About: We are a family of 5! We have 3 kids, ages 11, 8 and 2. We are all serious dog lovers, who grew up with animals of our own, as well as sitting for neighbors and friends. We can't think of a more perfect idea than to offer this service to others in our area. Enjoy your vacation or business trip, knowing that your dog is in a safe and loving environment. We have a big, fenced in yard for them to run around in. Our dog loves to lay out and sunbathe when the weather is warm. We also have lots of time to spend with your dog, taking walks or just enjoying play time! One of us works at home and is always available, the other works part-time. We have a very sweet 4 1/2 year old lab, Kenzie, who loves to meet new friends! She is very friendly with people and dogs of all sizes. We love to take Kenzie for walks, and would love to take yours along too! If they just like to sleep all day, that is fine too. Just let us know how active your dog is, and what his/her needs are! Why I love dog sitting We have both loved dogs since we were young. We both grew up with dogs, and have owned at least one our entire adult lives. About my yard We have a large, fenced in yard. There is a lot of space for the dogs to run around and play, as well as a patio for them to relax on. The space is pretty much all for them! We also have 2 cats but they will probably hide most of the time. We are available at all times for pet care. I usually walk Kenzie in the morning, sometimes later in the day. We are very flexible based on the needs of your pets! We can give your pup lots of attention and play time, or they can have quiet time away from everyone. Some dogs like a lot of activity and others do not!

About: About Me: I’m a lifelong dog lover with hands‑on experience caring for dogs of all sizes and energy levels. I grew up with a dog for eight years, and as an adult I’ve continued to care for dogs through family, friends, and Rover. My Experience: - Raised and trained my own German Shepherd from puppyhood with both personal training and help from a professional - Cared for my sister’s two dogs - Boarded multiple dogs in my home through Rover - House‑sat for families and watched their dogs - Provided post‑surgery care, including after her spay - Comfortable giving pills or medications - Confident walking large or strong dogs What I Offer: I love getting outside, playing, going for walks, and making sure each dog feels happy, safe, and cared for. Whether your dog needs exercise, structure, or just some extra affection, I’m here to help. I am currently in between jobs, so I have plenty of time to care for your dog! I go to the gym in the mornings and early evenings. My days are pretty wide open and flexible. I would love to be able to take your dog outside and go for walks. I want them to feel safe and comfortable around me. If I am sitting at your home, then I want to make sure they are in their normal routine and doing the things they enjoy and need on a daily basis.

About: I've raised two energetic puppies through adolescence and frequently provide dog-sitting services for friends in the area. I also have experience working as an enrichment specialist at a well-known doggy daycare in Rochester and volunteering as a foster for local rescues. I am experienced with anxious dogs and can adapt to your fur-baby's specific needs. I'm trained in basic human and canine CPR, and I'm skilled at recognizing early signs of reactive behavior in animals. While I'm not perfect, I'm highly attentive. Since I’m home most of the time, I’ll ensure your pet stays healthy, happy, and safe! We are an adventure duo -- you can catch us at the beach playing fetch in the water, hiking, or just taking long strolls along the canal! On days where the weather is rainy, we still get 3 walks a day (morning, noon, evening) with thorough wipe downs after! Meal times are interwoven with short training sessions. I have dedicated several rooms in my house to doggy activity areas -- agility equipment, floor mats, etc (see photos). Grooming is done very regularly. My pup has environmental allergies so we also do a water rinse daily when we return from our adventures. When your baby stays with me, they will receive the same treatment (if they are comfortable getting brushed). He is my entire life and I couldn’t be happier! I have included photos of my home (and the excessive amount of dog toys we own) in my profile. Several of the rooms in my house are dedicated to doggy activities/enrichment and I also have a fenced in yard. I have also made sure that my set up allows me to separate dogs from each other if they ever get over stimulated -- I have enough rooms where each dog can be in their own room. I also have a doggy door so most days when the weather is not atrocious the dogs can relieve themselves/play as they please. Also my sun room is dedicated to dog care so if need be I can gate off/separate pooches that get too worked up (or just need privacy eating). I do have two crates — one for super small dogs and the other for dogs up to 35 lbs. My dog is crate trained but prefers free range so I have dog beds in every single room. Dogs are welcome on furniture but please make sure they have been recently bathed (within a few days before) if you are boarding as we keep our home extremely clean (the carpets get washed every month and vacuum and swiffering are done daily). We are probably not a good fit if your dog does not get along with other dogs, because my dog is still young and very energetic. If your dog does not like to play but does not react aggressively to other dogs attempting to initiate play, Momo would be fine as he does eventually give up if the other dog does not engage him at all. When we schedule a meet and greet, you can expect to meet us outside the front yard for a couple block long walk together before going to the backyard to let the pooches sniff each other out. Since Momo is a chow-mix, he is protective by nature and does not like it if other fur-babies he does not know well try to jump on his mom so I will likely only greet your baby after I put him back in the house.

About: I have a lifetime of experience with pet care, which began with helping my mom run her in-home dog boarding business when I was growing up. The skills and experience that I've gained in that time enable me to provide the best possible care for your pet. I live with my girlfriend who is a veterinary technician with over 15 years of experience. Ours is a loving home, with a large, securely fenced yard. Our top priority is to keep your dog safe, feeling comfortable, and relaxed, just as they would be in their own home. I offer boarding, walks, in home visits, and more. I am comfortable giving meds, preparing special diets, and caring for puppies as well as seniors. I used to train and show dogs when I was younger, and can help get your puppy off on the right foot with house training. Dog sitting is my only job, and my flexible schedule revolves around that. I can be available at any reasonable time for pick-up and drop off appointments. I'm home almost all of the time to be with the dogs, only leaving to run brief errands when necessary. All dogs are cared for in my home. I have a large, securely fenced in back yard. During the day, dogs are free to be outside to play in the backyard as much as they wish. All dogs sleep in large crates or X-pens in our comfortable dog room at night, or when we are not home. We have a young cavalier who would be happy to have new friends to play with. For safety, I separate dogs for feeding and if we're out of the house, although it's rare that no one is home. Guests need to like other dogs and people.

Jodi, was great with our boxer Elsie. She clearly loves the fur babies that she gets to take care of. Elsie was with Jodi for daycare for 5 days. She was always happy to jump out of the car and run up the driveway to great Jodi at the door. She was very accommodating with our time schedule. Elsie had lots of play time and enjoyed her afternoon naps on the comfy sofas. We would definitely recommend Jodi to care for your pets.

Omgosh what a great experience! Short notice meet and greet and then next day stay. Such obvious dog lovers and a welcoming home. Jackson’s big big and fills up a room and they let him. This was a situation where we needed help in a pinch but we will definitely be booking again. This was such a great first time Rover experience - thank you!!

About: I love all dogs and have had dogs my whole life. I currently have a 4 year old yellow lab, who is great with other dogs. We have always had more than one dog in the house but we recently lost one to cancer, So caring for your pet would be a thrill to both me and my pet, I have recently retired form the school system and found that I have a lot of extra time that I could spend with your pet, playing and training basic commands. My husband and I live in an area where the dog would have a lot of room to run and play. He/she would be welcomed anywhere in our home with our dog as a companion to play with. I am retired and have all day or night to care for your pet. I very occasionally work as a substitute bus driver in the early morning , generally home by 8.am I have a fenced in yard for the dogs to run around and play, also in the home all day and can take for walks if preferred.

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Rush

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 214 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Rush. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Rush commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 214 sitters in Rush, 85% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
