“We don’t board our dogs or have them watched outside of our home very often. When we do need help, it’s usually a family member or close friend staying at our house. Because of that, we were a little nervous about having them stay somewhere else, but Emily was absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly patient, loving, and kind with both of our dogs—especially our Labrador, who has become quite the homebody in his older years and needed a little extra time to adjust to being away from home. Emily handled it with so much patience and care, and we could tell she genuinely wanted him to feel comfortable and secure. When we picked them up, they were excited to see us but were clearly happy, comfortable, and well looked after. It’s obvious that Emily genuinely cares about the animals she watches and treats them like her own. We would absolutely recommend Emily to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter, and we would not hesitate to book with her again in the future. Thank you again, Emily, for taking such great care of our pups!”
“Amber did such a wonderful job caring for my senior dog! She was incredibly attentive to all of the instructions I provided, including her medication schedule, feeding routine, and outdoor needs. She also sent thoughtful daily updates and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that my pup was in great hands, and I’m so grateful for the care and attention she provided. I would happily book with her again in the future!”

“Liz and her family, once again took excellent care of my baby. She is comfortable and content being there, and it makes me feel comfortable knowing she's in good hands and a safe and loving environment.”

“Amy was the best …. Took amazing care of my fur baby I knew he was in good hands ❤️ got pictures and videos and updates really made me feel at ease with everything while I was gone”

“Stefani is excellent! We were worried because we have a puppy who has never been without us. She took great care of him and he seemed really happy. I had to unexpectedly cancel my second stay with Stefani due to a medical emergency and she was so amazing about it! I highly recommend her.”

“Ken and his family were awesome with our Sasha! Super easy to book.. actually the while process was super easy! Sasha’s happy she made some new friends.. and I’m happy I found our new ”go-to” sitter for our random weekend getaways!”

“Ana and Byron were great! I was worried because Theo is a rescue we adopted only six months ago and in many ways he is still traumatized and shy. But he warmed up to them right away and there were no issues. They sent photos every day, which were a wonderful bonus and greatly eased my mind. Ana and Byron were so caring and attentive. We will definitely use them again!”

About: I’ve taken care of family members dogs and have been trusted for 2 weeks at a time with their dog over the summer. I have been around dogs all my life as well and learned how to distinguish the behaviors of the dogs. I am also an aspiring veterinarian so I love learning about animals and their behaviors, especially dogs! I am working on getting more certifications so I can take the best care of your pups! I’m currently in on summer break and so my availability is more open at this time. Times may vary as I do work part time! I have a fenced yard that is large enough for your dog to play and get in exercise. There is a walkout basement that is dedicated to your dog!
“Viktoria and her husband did an amazing job with our anxious hound! She sent daily updates and pictures, and her communication was phenomenal. He was definitely spoiled when with her, and it really brought comfort to us while we were away to know he was in such good hands. He went on multiple walks and she even let him sleep with them when he jumped into their bed in the middle of the night! She will absolutely be our first choice for dog sitting in the future. I highly recommend her and couldn’t be more pleased with her services.”

“Nemo took to Kathleen right away. She kept him busy with walking and playing with her children. She is a dog lover! He is as in good hands. Sent several pics too. Would definitely ask her to sit again.”

“We were very happy with Amy. She sent notes and lovely pics of Reese. He seemed to enjoy his stay as well. It was our first time leaving him with anyone and we feel very comfortable leaving him with Amy again. Thanks for taking such good care of our fur baby.”

“Kate took great care of my 2 golden retrievers. They were there for a weekend and became part of her family for the short time they were there! I highly recommend Kate!”

“Rolanda was amazing! She kept me updated and sent pictures of Chloe throughout her stay! I can tell that Chloe was comfortable with her and she came back just as happy as she was before i dropped her off! I would definitely book with Rolanda again!”
“She is a great dog sitter. I was constantly updated with pics showing how happy Harley was during his stay. I appreciate her accommodating to keep our pet at the last minute. Thanks Kendra!! You will be seeing Harley again soon.”

When I came to pick leo up I spoke with her mom & that was definitely a cherry on top.”

Michelle and her family are incredible. We are so thankful we found them. They have watched our dog Chip a few times and he is legit excited to go back everytime. We were nervous about who was going to watch chip for our wedding weekend but after the few times he stayed with Michelle and fam we did not have to worry at all. We could enjoy our day knowing he was in the best hands! 1000% reccomend

Kimberly and Matthew were amazing care givers this past weekend. Kimberly kept in constant contact with me sending a ton of pics and made me feel at ease leaving my baby with them! This was his first time being away from home as I had to deal with a family situation in Michigan. I couldn’t have picked better humans to care for our Echo other than myself, naturally. Thank you for being amazing!!! I know he enjoyed the time he spent with you!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
