“Laina borded my Rosie for just under two weeks. I was very anxious because Rosie had some last minute special needs, but Laina was more than willing to accommodate. Laina treated Rosie very well and provided daily updates with pictures which helped keep me at ease while being away. Even before the booking, Laina went the extra steps to make sure both Rosie and I would be comfortable with her boarding. This was a fabulous experience and I would definitely recommend Laina”

“We have booked several times with Diana and Brian. Very happy with the care that our senior dogs receive. I feel very comfortable knowing that my dogs are being loved and well cared for.”

“It was truly a pleasure having my pup Dallas stay with Iman! This was my first time having someone outside of family care for him and Iman put me at ease. The communication, pictures sent, comfort and compassion demonstrated was truly impeccable! I can't wait to blow and frame the photos you took of him, so professional; Im still trying to understand how you got him to pose, lol!! Thanks Again and see you soon!”

“Many thanks to Phyllis and her husband for taking great care of our two dogs. They are great — very responsive, professional and loving! We look forward to seeing them at the end of the month when we are at a wedding!”

“Heather and Israel were great - always responsive, let us know how things were going and our pup was adapting while we were gone for the weekend. Our flight was cancelled and they were so kind to watch our pup an extra night and be flexible with the pickup time. Our pup had so much fun and we will definitely use them again!”

“Sylvie takes great care of my girl. My dog loves it at her house and comes home happy and tired out. I highly recommend Sylvie and have already booked my dog's next stay!.”

“Albina was very sweet and patient with our little baby. He is a handful with lots of energy. She sent lots of pictures and played with him. She was very patient as it was his first time being away from home and he cried a lot at night. Albina tried to comfort him by sleeping on the couch with our pup and even taking him to her bed. She even went the extra mile to make sure he eventually got some sleep when we took him home. 10/10”

“Took great care of my dog and provided daily updates. Was very flexible with instructions for taking care of my dog. I highly recommend and would reach out to him again for future dog sitting needs.”

“Thank you again, Vanessa, for taking care of our fur baby. We truly appreciate your kindness, patience, and experience. Your comforting presence and natural ability to connect with him made all the difference, especially as this was our first experience.”

“I just picked up my little Yorkie from a two night stay with Kimberly and her family. Ziggy was pampered by all of them. Kimberly sent me daily, detailed updates and several photos, showing my little guy relaxed and happy. I highly recommend Kimberly. She's great!”
“Matt and Michelle are absolutely incredible dog people and people people! Genuinely so caring and loving, my dog makes herself right at home whenever she’s there. THANK YOU MATT AND MICHELLE FOR EVERYTHING!!”

About: I’ve been taking care of pets since I was 5 years old. I took care of dogs, cats, and birds. Pets like to be around me and feel safe. I’m currently unemployed so I have plenty of time and energy to take care of your dog anytime starting 11am all week days as you need. I have a big yard that makes your dog feel free in plenty of space to play and walk. I don’t have any dogs at home, so your dog will feel safe and enjoy peace.
“Amber did such a wonderful job caring for my senior dog! She was incredibly attentive to all of the instructions I provided, including her medication schedule, feeding routine, and outdoor needs. She also sent thoughtful daily updates and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that my pup was in great hands, and I’m so grateful for the care and attention she provided. I would happily book with her again in the future!”

“Lucy had an awesome time staying with Tyler. I received frequent updates while I was away with pictures showing how well she was being taken care of. Beautiful home and lovely property! Would highly recommend and have already booked her next stay. Thank you!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Homer Glen
Amy and Scott took such good care of Ruby while we were gone. She had access to the house, the couch and the big back yard, which is everything she gets at home. Amy went above and beyond to communicate with me about Ruby’s well being, sending pictures and describing her activities and her relationship with her dog. Whenever we need a sitter, we’ll be contacting Amy first.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
