We feed our dogs twice a day, morning and around dinner time, and for our visitor dogs we do whatever they are used to as far as eating is concerned. We generally separate them when eating and feed them separately to avoid any issues. Amy is home during the week with the kids so she is able to provide frequent potty breaks and attention. In general, we just try to make them as comfortable as they are at home and do what they are used to at home.

Information Amy J. would like to know about your pet
We love all dogs and welcome all dogs. We've really never had a dog here that was a problem. It's important to us of course that they're good with children, and good with other dogs. Other than that, we'd follow your routine here and do what's best for them. We're happy to answer any questions that aren't spelled out in our profile - just reach out!
A typical day
We have a large fenced in yard so a lot of times playtime is out there. All of our guest dogs love the yard. Where your dog sleeps is up to you. We have a very dog-friendly home, so ours is allowed on the couch and even the bed sometimes, so we're not opposed to that. If you usually crate your dog at night, we can do that too. If you usually let them sleep on a dog bed on the floor, that works too. Basically, they're allowed full terrain of the house so it really doesn't matter! We can make them feel like they're at home. :)

Pet care experience
Hi! As fellow dog owners (and a dog loving family), we understand the importance of finding a good place for your pets to stay while you are away and the importance of updates while you are away. We live in Homer Glen and have a single-family home with plenty of space for the dogs to roam, including a large, fenced-in backyard and a very dog friendly home since we have 2 pups of our own (and frequent visitors) :) We currently have one dog, Lady. We recently lost our senior pup, Simba. Lady is our 3 year old mutt. She is about 35 lbs. We rescued her from a foster based rescue. She is extremely friendly - LOVES outside, loves all dogs. We did a DNA test on her and it was a mix but predominantly border collie/redbone coonhound. She has energy but is very sweet. She came from a foster home with 6 dogs so she came to us very socialized. She's a very playful dog with a lot of energy but not a mean bone in her body. My husband I usually joke that she's our social coordinator because she loves every dog, person, etc. She's busy but she is all love. My husband Scott and I both grew up with dogs our whole lives so we have always been dog people. We have two young kiddos - a 7 year old girl and a 4 year old boy. Both came home from the hospital to 2 dogs so dog life is all that they know. They are respectful toward animals and love the visiting dogs. We've never had any issues and they honestly don't really even react anymore. We think it's just their norm which we love. I (Amy) am currently home full time during the week to care for the kids so the dogs are a bonus! So, they get no shortage of playtime and attention! We are open to any dog that is friendly with other dogs and kids. We are of course, used to caring for our own dogs and treating them as a part of the family and would be no different towards your pup! You can expect lots of playtime outside, and whatever sleeping arrangement you are used to should work for us. We always figure it out so guest dogs are comfy. We're open to checking in as often as you'd like. Sometimes life gets busy with the kids and dogs but we promise we will ALWAYS respond as soon as we can. We try to send lots of photos and videos and check in often. We know what it's like to be away from our dogs so we try to be great about getting back to anyone and sending lots of pics and updates. If you have any questions please let us know! :)
Reviews

Amy is great and our dog had a blast there! We will book again!

Amy and Scott took such good care of Ruby while we were gone. She had access to the house, the couch and the big back yard, which is everything she gets at home. Amy went above and beyond to communicate with me about Ruby’s well being, sending pictures and describing her activities and her relationship with her dog. Whenever we need a sitter, we’ll be contacting Amy first.

Amy was wonderful with our pups! I'm always nervous when I have to board them, but she continually kept me informed with messages and pictures which allowed us to relax! They were able to play outside in their fenced yard which was wonderful. I highly recommend Amy!!!

Molly always has a great time with Amy and her family.
