“Debbie and Reggie did a great job with my dog Jake. They were flexible with pick up time when my return flight was delayed and I found Jake happy and well cared for. “Clarissa was so amazing with rotini! She went above and beyond to make sure he was eating well and having a great time. Her dog, Rue, was the perfect playmate for my dog. Would rebook with her anytime!”

About: 42 yrs of having animals in my life big or small of any kind. I have a sense of what Animals want just by their behavior and sweet look in their eyes. Animals bring out a silly personality in me I wouldn't have otherwise. Frosty Paws on their birthday. I work from home which makes taking care of animals easily accessible and reliable. Available evenings and weekends too. I have 2 cats of my own that would love to make new furry friends. I have a fenced in yard. Animal friendly neighborhood for walks. My 2 cats Eclipse and Beastie would not mind either although Beastie would run and hide until her curiosity peeked. Both cats are spayed/neutered and shots are up to date. Require up to date shots to include Bordatella/Distemper and flea/tic protected. Wont leave home without them!!
“La Toya is very friendly, easy to communicate with and shared lovely pictures of my pup during a last minute sitting request. Her doggies are so sweet as well. Thank you La Toya!”

“Fanny was amazing! She took care of my Teddy for over a week and provided updates every day. Even comforted him throughout a thunderstorm! I would definitely recommend Fanny and Teddy can’t wait to see her again!”

“I couldn't be happier with how things went leaving Dolce with Christina and her family. I have boarded my dog at kennels before and have always had some issue when I returned, not this time. I could tell she was happy and felt at home with Christina and her family. Would highly recommend Christina to anyone.”

“Really came through for me when I needed a sitter last minute. Kept me really well updated with pics and videos of my dog while in his care. My dog and his dog have gotten along great, really kept him entertained!”

“Leslie was amazing!!! It was obvious right away that my dogs loved her. She was so good with Molly and Bear, whether it was playtime or snuggle time. And she was absolutely wonderful about keeping us updated regularly! It’s hard to leave my pups, but her updates and pictures made it a lot easier. Leslie really cares for your pups. She is truly wonderful.”

“Laina is AMAZING! I felt so comfortable leaving our pup with her and her husband Bill. It’s such a relief to know that June will be loved and cared for as if she were home with us anytime we’re away.”

“Pennie was great to board Te'o with. She kept me up to date with some photos and took great care of him. When my return flight was delayed and I asked her if she could drop Te'o at my home before I arrived, she didn't hesitate to say yes. Will definitely use her again!”

“Erin was fantastic with my dog, Max, this weekend! She provided daily updates, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that Max was happy, comfortable, and well cared for throughout his stay. Erin was reliable, communicative, and treated Max like her own. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy dog sitter, and I would definitely book with her again.”

“We left our fur baby with Kristin for the weekend and couldn’t have had a better experience! She was wonderful with our girl. She provided daily updates with pictures which was so nice to see. She is so sweet and I highly recommend her, we will definitely be rebooking her in the future!”

“Bebe was wonderful! She took great care of my pup, Winnie and treated her as if she were her own. I had no doubt that Winnie was in good hands, which really helped to put my mind at ease while I was away. She was extremely flexible with pickup and drop off times and made communication very easy. She also sent lots of pictures of their outings. I'll definitely be using Bebe in the future!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
