“Marissa as able to fit my Thaddeus in last min and was willing to work with me. He enjoyed spending time there. She kept me posted. Her whole family was incredibly kind. I highly recommend. I plan to use their service when I’m back in the area.”

“Our flight was canceled and Lucero and had no problem keeping our dog a couple of extra days. Our dog Lucy was spoiled rotten for a week by Lucero and her kids. My pup was worn out the first night we brought her home. Milo must have had a blast playing with my girl. Lucy's stay cation was well worth it. I will be booking again with Lucero soon.”

About: Hi! I’m Victoria. I grew up surrounded by cats, and 6 years ago my husband and I adopted Harley, our sweet little dog who completely stole our hearts. I know how important it is to feel confident and comfortable when someone else is caring for your fur baby. I treat every pet with the same love, patience, and attention I give Harley. Whether your pet prefers playtime, cuddles, slow sniff-walks, or just gentle company, I’m here to match their needs and routine. I’m reliable, communicative, and happy to send updates and photos so you know your pet is safe and happy at all times. Pet care fits easily into my routine because I work remotely and have a very flexible schedule. I’m home throughout the day, which allows me to provide regular walks, check-ins, playtime, and constant attention whenever needed. I prioritize safety and comfort in every home I care for. I follow each pet’s routine closely, keep environments clean and secure, and provide constant supervision during walks and visits.
“Clarissa was so amazing with rotini! She went above and beyond to make sure he was eating well and having a great time. Her dog, Rue, was the perfect playmate for my dog. Would rebook with her anytime!”

About: 42 yrs of having animals in my life big or small of any kind. I have a sense of what Animals want just by their behavior and sweet look in their eyes. Animals bring out a silly personality in me I wouldn't have otherwise. Frosty Paws on their birthday. I work from home which makes taking care of animals easily accessible and reliable. Available evenings and weekends too. I have 2 cats of my own that would love to make new furry friends. I have a fenced in yard. Animal friendly neighborhood for walks. My 2 cats Eclipse and Beastie would not mind either although Beastie would run and hide until her curiosity peeked. Both cats are spayed/neutered and shots are up to date. Require up to date shots to include Bordatella/Distemper and flea/tic protected. Wont leave home without them!!
“Amy took such wonderful care of our dog, Joe. She is incredibly caring, very responsive, and kept us updated with pictures and messages the whole time. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Joe was in such excellent hands. We will absolutely be using Amy again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving caregiver.”

“Vanessa was great and watched our dog during the holidays. She kept us updated regularly on how our pug was doing and had a quick response time. It was really good seeing pictures of our dog right in the middle of a family Christmas. He was even allowed to watch TV while sitting on her furniture. Will definitely use her again!”

“Laina borded my Rosie for just under two weeks. I was very anxious because Rosie had some last minute special needs, but Laina was more than willing to accommodate. Laina treated Rosie very well and provided daily updates with pictures which helped keep me at ease while being away. Even before the booking, Laina went the extra steps to make sure both Rosie and I would be comfortable with her boarding. This was a fabulous experience and I would definitely recommend Laina”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
