“Jaclynn and Nala seemed to have loved their stay with Michelle! She is very responsive and sends pictures to let you know your pups are doing okay. Will definitely book with her again”

“Alison was great to work with. We appreciated her flexibility with our schedule, was very responsive and sent pics of our fur baby. Everything was neat and in order when we got back home and Keke looked very happy. We will definitely use Alison for future bookings.”

“Christine is absolutely wonderful. She takes such good care of the dogs, and they absolutely adore her! To top it off, my house always seems cleaner when I get home than when I left it!!”

About: I’ve had two dogs and currently have one cat. All of my pets are seniors and incredibly well loved. My best friends in the entire world! I’m currently unemployed as I am waiting for government clearance to start my job as a research assistant! I’m located in the Chicago suburbs so I’m able to provide care to suburbs and Chicago! I’ll provide full attention to your pet and treat them as my own! I love spending time with pets in any setting such as outside or indoors. Pets are a member of a family and should be treated as such!
“We booked Pam to stay with our dog while we went out of state for my stepdaughter's wedding after another sitter had to change plans due to surgery. Pam was wonderful! Raider is a weirdo and will refuse to warm up to sitters. Pam kept in constant communication letting me know how things were going and asking how she might get him to warm up. He often does not eat for my spouse and me so I wasn't surprised that he was not eating for her. Pam cooked bits of steak to put on his food twice (and offered to go buy one but we happened to have steak in the freezer) - which got him to eat after two days of refusing. Pam is very kind and really cares about the pets she sits. She also left our house spotless. It was especially wonderful to come home to clean sheets! I am very grateful Pam took such good care of Raider so we could enjoy the wedding festivities!”

“Lana was fantastic! With this being the first time I’ve had someone else stay and take care of my baby, I was nervous but she was wonderful! Sent me updates and pictures! I came home to my pup being happy and the house so well taken care of! We’ve already booked our next stay! :)”

“We cant find the words to express how grateful we were to have Jennifer watch our two furr babies, full blooded Labradors. We have never left our kids with anyone before, so it was a pleasure to have her in our home with the kids for 8 days and had not one worry! She sent us pictures and updates daily, which was wonderful to see how happy the kids were. Even with it being cold outside, she threw the ball for them and played with them. Not only did she take fantastic job watching our kids, she kept our home in tip top shape, and I have the worst case of OCD and I would have her back with no questions asked!!! If you want the VERY BEST, go with Jennifer, you will not be disappointed, worried or concerned about anything. She also did things in my house like vacuumed, mopping, and ran errands for me. She has the most upbeat personality and super likeable! We hit it off right off the bat.”

“Jordan followed every instruction to the T. She was very polite, professional, responsive and communicative in the months of planning leading up to our big trip. The only mishaps while we were away were handled adeptly without stress or drama and Jordan even made one more visit to care for everyone when our return flight came in later than planned. We arrived home (from being thousands of miles away for a week of almost no cell service) to find our +20 member fur family happy, well fed and not at all worse for the wear. The house was just as we had left it. We truly look forward our next opportunity to book Jordan. Mahalo nui Jordan- you made a once-in-a-lifetime family reunion happen. We are so grateful we had your care here at home so we could be away to make these priceless memories!”

“Very friendly and responsive. Treated my dogs like they were her own! Kept me in the loop about everything and was not afraid to ask questions. I would definitely recommend and use again.”
“Jorden was very nice. He took good care of the dogs. There weren't messes to clean up when we got home. We were very happy with our choice to have him watch our pets. we would do it again.”

About: Ive taken care of dogs since I was a child, I grew up around them. I always make sure they're fed and have enough water throughout the day, walking them, playing with them and overall spending time with them. I love all animals and just want them to feel happy in my care. I’m currently enrolled at UIC, and my first semester has a lighter class schedule, which gives me plenty of time to provide pet care. I’m available on weekends and Friday afternoons, with some additional weekday afternoon availability depending on my class schedule. I’m flexible and will work with you to find a time that works best for you and your pet. I want every pet to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while they’re with me. I follow each pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications if needed, and any special instructions from their owner. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat their home with the same respect I would my own and make sure their pets receive plenty of attention, supervision, and care.

About: I have taken care of pups of all ages my whole life, as I have had my own as well as done overnights with multiples! I am in college, and have a part time job on weekdays, but I have no commitments after 5:30 and on weekends, and I can take care of your fur babies! I can easily crate dogs, and I have cats that love to run out so I am equipped to find the sneaky cats that want to run free
About: I have had my own two dogs and also have cared for friends' pets including walking, feeding, and administering medication. I have also stayed overnight to care for pets. I help care for my elderly parents so my schedule is mostly flexible. I am at church Saturday evenings from about 4-7 so I am unavailable then. I am patient with pets and upon meeting them I let them see for themselves that they can trust me by sniffing me or whatever they need to do. With my own dog I always make sure he is safe and well cared for.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Crest Hill
Haily was awesome, she took great care of our dogs. She spent time with them in the basement during a tornado warning. My golden Is very afraid of storms and is not fun to be around during them but Haily took it in stride. She communicated with us while we were gone and sent pictures. Would definitely highly recommend her.

Alison was great to work with. We appreciated her flexibility with our schedule, was very responsive and sent pics of our fur baby. Everything was neat and in order when we got back home and Keke looked very happy. We will definitely use Alison for future bookings.

Anna was amazing! Great communication and we could tell by the daily provided photos that our dogs were having a great time! She went above and beyond, even handling an issue at our home for us while we were away! We will definitely book her again the next time we go away!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Crest Hill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Crest Hill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Crest Hill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
