AWESOME SITTER - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Will be very happy to use Lynda again! I contacted Lynda the day before I was going for a spontaneous day trip to Michigan and she agreed to a last-minute booking for my dog Bob. Lynda was so gracious and invited Bob & me over to meet her, her husband, and their daughter's dog, Teddy. I was so thrilled Bob had a playmate for the day and the two pups got along very well! Lynda & Mark are fantastic people and even said to drop Bob off that night so I could start out early the next morning! Wow, did I appreciate that as it certainly made it easy for me! Lynda checked in with me the next day and all was well with Bob! I truly appreciated the update on my boy, Bob! My day trip ended up going a little later than planned and when I contacted Lynda to let her know I'd be late, she was wonderful! I felt genuinely fortunate to have Lynda and her husband watching Bob! Bob seemed very happy & content staying with them and I was extremely comfortable with this hospitable couple. I would highly recommend Lynda & Mark in a heartbeat and won't hesitate to have them watch Bob again!

About: We’re lifelong dog lovers who truly understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. Having grown up around dogs and now caring for one of our own, we’re very familiar with daily routines, different temperaments, and the little things that keep dogs happy and comfortable. Many of our close family members are also dog owners, so caring for dogs has always been a big part of our lives. What sets us apart is our calm, attentive approach and hands-on experience. We’re comfortable administering medications, including giving pills, and we’re happy to follow any specific care instructions your dog needs. Whether it’s sticking to a routine, helping a nervous dog feel at ease, or providing extra patience for puppies or senior dogs, we’re committed to making sure every dog feels safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. I’m a teacher, so I’m home full-time during the summer, and my wife works from home most days. This gives us a very flexible schedule, allowing us to adapt easily to each dog’s routine and specific needs. We care for every pet as if they were our own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well-loved whether they’re in our home or theirs. We stick closely to each dog’s usual routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions you provide. While we don’t have a fenced-in yard, we make sure dogs still get plenty of exercise and outdoor time by taking them out on a leash and going on regular walks. We’re attentive and hands-on during outdoor time to ensure their safety at all times.

About: I’ve owned dogs for over 15 years now. I treat my pets as family. I love all kinds of animals and you can trust that I will give them the best care. I am home 24/7 so I will have plenty of time to entertain your fur baby, take them for long walks and give them extra cuddles and belly rubs. I have a fenced in large backyard with plenty of room for your dog to run around. I have a small long haired mini dachshund that will keep your pet company. If your dog needs to be crated, I can have that option available. Rest assured, you can have all the confidence in the world that your pet will be in safe hands.

About: I have been taking care of dogs for about the last 8 years! I have been the daily dog walker, the weekend sitter, and the drop by person for all my friends and family's pets. I know your four-legged friends are one of the family and I always make sure they are treated as such. Having my own fur baby at home, I relate to being aware of your pet's attention and needs and they are at my highest priority! A special fun fact, when the pandemic hit and there was nothing to do, my doggo and I trained for our own personal half marathon using our daily walks! I am currently finishing my degree as an occupational therapist. I work/school from home on Friday's, which make that a fairly flexible day for any last-minute needs. My weekday evening are almost always available and early morning's drop in I can accommodate for as well. Weekend availability varies, as I enjoy travelling with my doggo on outdoor adventures. I live in a safe quiet neighborhood and am just minutes from a local walking trail that my fur baby and I love to explore. We do not have a fenced in yard, so all walks are on a leash. I have cared for dogs of all sizes, strengths, and energy levels so if your pup needs to run to get their energy out, I am not afraid to run it off with them. I love being active with my animals and can gauge their endurance levels well to make sure they are getting that "just right" amount!

Great experience with Ethel. We came in from out of town to watch a Red Stars game and she took care of our bernedoodle, Frankie. Ethel’s place is a very short way from SeatGeek Stadium and Frankie came back to us happy.

About: I grew up on a farm and we've always had 3 dogs and 2 cats along with a plethora of other animals. I know how to ensure safety and have a clear head when things go awry. I absolutely adore dogs and cats of all ages and can competently take care of any range of behaviors. I'm a ballerina and a personal trainer. But I will absolutely check in, walk or play with your pet any chance that I get! Normally it would be in the morning or near the evening. My schedule is more open on the weekends. I am a very precautious person when it comes to the safety of your pets. I always double check instructions and make sure the door or cage is secure before I leave. I also will give them all the love and attention they could want.

I am grateful to have found Iman. I feel good knowing my Gigi is in good hands. I was worried about finding quality care that could accommodate my late work schedule. I’ve never left my furbaby with anyone outside of my immediate family, it was scary. I had looked at Rover previously but never used their services, now I am so glad I did. Rover helped me find the best care for Gigi and Iman has been great accommodating my late work schedule. Iman set my heart and mind at ease and I am so thankful for the love & care she provides my fur-baby Gigi and I are both grateful for Iman ❤️

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Orland Hills

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Orland Hills on Rover is $33.3 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 3,636 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Orland Hills. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Orland Hills commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 3,636 sitters in Orland Hills, 86% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
