“Highly recommended! Desiree did a fantastic job watching our two dogs. Even though it was a gloomy, rainy day, she kept our pups happy and comfortable. Her place was very clean and well kept. She also sent pictures and a report. We will definitely book with Desiree again!”

“Great experience with Ethel. We came in from out of town to watch a Red Stars game and she took care of our bernedoodle, Frankie. Ethel’s place is a very short way from SeatGeek Stadium and Frankie came back to us happy.”

“I can’t say enough about how well Xena loves coming to daycare with Michelle and Christy. They treat my dog as if it’s their own !! Great communication and highly recommend!”

“Laina is an amazing sitter! She knows animals very well and shows them lots of love. She provides updates with pictures throughout the day. She was available to us on short notice and was very flexible with scheduling. Our dog really enjoyed spending time with her and her dogs! Highly recommend to others! We will definitely re-book!”

“Rhett was just comically exhausted after 2 busy days with you. Clearly he is loving the attention and play! Appreciate the flexibility you offer to meet our schedules.”

“Morgan is an animal-loving sweet girl. The second time we drove to her place, my pup was so excited when we turned the corner because he remembered the day before was a good time:-) She’s a great, prompt communicator and accommodating . I’d recommend her without hesitation to anyone.”

“Our dog loved her time with Ashley. She felt 100% at home which was very important to me. I tried a pet store doggy day care previously and it was overwhelming to my dog, she was not happy when I picked her up. When I picked her up from Ashley she was so happy and I could tell she had a great day. Ashley sent pictures. was very responsive, and she was very accommodating. I will definitely be booking with her again!!!”

“AWESOME SITTER - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Will be very happy to use Lynda again! I contacted Lynda the day before I was going for a spontaneous day trip to Michigan and she agreed to a last-minute booking for my dog Bob. Lynda was so gracious and invited Bob & me over to meet her, her husband, and their daughter's dog, Teddy. I was so thrilled Bob had a playmate for the day and the two pups got along very well! Lynda & Mark are fantastic people and even said to drop Bob off that night so I could start out early the next morning! Wow, did I appreciate that as it certainly made it easy for me! Lynda checked in with me the next day and all was well with Bob! I truly appreciated the update on my boy, Bob! My day trip ended up going a little later than planned and when I contacted Lynda to let her know I'd be late, she was wonderful! I felt genuinely fortunate to have Lynda and her husband watching Bob! Bob seemed very happy & content staying with them and I was extremely comfortable with this hospitable couple. I would highly recommend Lynda & Mark in a heartbeat and won't hesitate to have them watch Bob again!”

“Phyllis and Greg, are wonderful dog sitters! They have a lot of experience with dogs and a beautiful park right out front of their house that the dogs walk in. Sugar loved it there and was so happy to see them at her first return visit.”

“It has been a couple of months since Hodor's last visit to Cathy's. The second we pulled into the driveway it was clear he wanted to go inside to play with Cathy and Mable! It's very obvious how happy Hodor is while he is there and the confidence he has gained! We don't trust anyone else with him.”

About: Please note: During winter, hours will change. Although Rover doesn’t allow specific time blocks, walks are limited to 10am to 6pm for personal safety purposes. I’ve worked and volunteered in different shelters. I was the lead trainer and behavioral expert at Ruby Whiskers in Lemont, IL, and have been a part of WagsForMags training service dogs and therapy dogs. I have trained my last 2 service dogs, as well as trained and worked with many neighbors in my area on basic pet manners, reactivity, leash walking and socialization. I’ve owned many different types of pets from turtles to dogs and hamsters, rabbits and chickens, and fish! If you’re looking for someone who’s well-educated about animals and animal care needs depending on the given pet’s breed/species, I’m your person! I am aware of the dos and don'ts when it comes to healthy nutrition and balanced exercise (and mental stimulation) and can also provide additional positive-based training sessions for your dogs if needed! Additionally, I am also up to knowledge about dog/cat CPR. I love animals and care for their well-being and proper animal husbandry! In my day-to-day life, I make sure that everything that goes towards my dogs is beneficial and enriching for them. I make sure my active, working dog gets a training session every day; around 5-20 minutes and he gets daily exercise, enrichment, and mental stimulation. I also pet sit for my neighbor's elderly Foxhound, and provide free training for families who are in need of some beginner tips! I wake up and take my dog for a walk. Then I feed him a balanced breakfast that has been custom-tailored for him that is homemade and home-prepared. My dog only is given toys and treats that are adequate for his health and safety. For your pet, in terms of pet sitting, I will provide the best quality care that I can and follow ALL written or given instructions for your animal in addition to photo and text updates if requested. I also leave a little goody bag and a special polaroid of your pet(s) after I do any homestay or repeated, booked walks.`
About: I’ve taken care of dogs for several years from puppies to rescues to senior dogs. I have had experience with many different breeds of dogs also. I currently work from home and can set my own hours so I am free to care for dogs at most times of the day and night. I have a fenced in yard and two friendly dogs. One is a senior golden retriever who loves to just lay in the yard or play with a toy. The other is a rescue who is a shy dog. She had a rough life before I rescued her so she likes to just hang out by herself most of the time. I have cared for dogs in my home with my two dogs and they get along great because my dogs are older and get along with other dogs.
“Natalie was amazing watching my luxy boy! She kept me updated with the cutest photos and he had a blast all day long! He wanted to stay with her when I picked him up! Would deff recommend and use again in the future!”

“Amazing care for my Butters. I was completely comfortable leaving him in Danny’s care. Daily pictures and a lot of space for Butters to run around. Will be coming back to Danny for future service! 5/5 Recommended!”

About: We have grown up around cats and dogs. We are the go to pet sitters for our families and friends. We have experience with cats, dogs, snakes, turtles, fish, and ferrets. We have house trained our dogs and know the patience required with the process. We both work from home so we are able to take dogs out as needed and nothing is better on a work break then cuddling some fuzzies. We have a large fenced in yard,so dogs can safely run and play. We always stay outside with them. Inside the house is pet proofed with couch protection covers and scratching posts for cats. All kitty litter is gated off from dog access. Water bowls are available upstairs and downstairs. If we are outside for more than 15 minutes we also bring a water bowl outside.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
