About: I am a teacher off for the summer and am available to help other families with their pet care needs. My two best friends are rescue pups that bring me great joy. I also volunteer to help with cat care at our local animal shelter. I know how hard it is to leave your pets, so you can rest assured I will take the utmost care when in charge of your beloved pets. I will treat them as my own! I have experience with a variety of household pets including dogs, cats, reptiles, Guinea pigs, hamsters, and birds. Animals are truly special creatures that deserve our utmost respect and care and it is my privilege to take care of yours. I am a teacher off for the summer and my schedule is very flexible to help you with your animals. Early morning, afternoon, or at night, I’m available! I do not do care out of my home. I can come to you but cannot do overnights. I will take detailed notes on your instructions and follow through on each step. I want your animals to feel as comfortable as possible while you are gone. For dog walking, I am very experienced at handling even the most energetic dog!

“Gwendolyn did a fantastic job taking care of our cats while we were out of town. She responded quickly, my cats instantly liked her, and shared adorable pictures of the cats while she was here. I would definitely recommend her.”

About: What sets me apart as a pet sitter is my hands-on experience working with dogs of all sizes and personalities. I volunteered for two years at an animal shelter, where I helped care for dogs by providing exercise, socialization, and daily attention. This experience taught me how to work with a variety of temperaments and how to make animals feel safe and comfortable. I am also a dog owner myself and currently care for two Doberman Pinschers, which has given me extensive experience handling large, energetic breeds and understanding their physical and emotional needs. In addition, I have provided pet sitting services for many neighbors and family friends, earning their trust through my reliability, communication, and genuine love for animals. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or prefers a calmer routine, I am committed to providing personalized care, plenty of attention, and a safe environment. I understand that every pet is unique, and I strive to make them feel loved and comfortable while their owners are away. I currently have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I am available for dog walking, drop-in visits, and pet sitting throughout the week, including many evenings and weekends. As a dog owner myself, caring for animals is already part of my daily routine. I enjoy spending time outdoors, going on walks, playing with dogs, and making sure they receive the exercise, attention, and companionship they need while their owners are away. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet's routine, personality, and specific needs so I can provide consistent and personalized care. In my home and in clients' homes, I ensure pets have a safe, clean, and supervised environment. I carefully follow feeding schedules, exercise routines, medication instructions, and any special requests from owners. Having cared for my own two Doberman Pinschers and many pets for neighbors and friends, I am comfortable handling dogs of different sizes and energy levels. I also provide regular updates and photos so owners can feel confident that their pets are happy and well cared for.
“Marissa was great! She arrived on time to meet my little pups before I went out of town, and also arrived on time the day I scheduled for her to come let them out. She played with them, took them for a walk, fed them, and changed out a potty pad.”

About: I have grown up with dogs and cats and have experience caring for both. I have my own pet dog who is a 10 year old mixed breed. I have administered medications and am comfortable caring for pets with special needs. I am a college student and am free for the summer. Have plenty of time to spend with your pets. I like going on walks with my dog clients and am happy to offer pets and treats to your fur baby while you are away. I can provide companionship, walks, feeding and toileting for your pets. Comfortable with both dogs and cats and can assist with any special needs they may have.

About: I grew up on a farm and we've always had 3 dogs and 2 cats along with a plethora of other animals. I know how to ensure safety and have a clear head when things go awry. I absolutely adore dogs and cats of all ages and can competently take care of any range of behaviors. I'm a ballerina and a personal trainer. But I will absolutely check in, walk or play with your pet any chance that I get! Normally it would be in the morning or near the evening. My schedule is more open on the weekends. I am a very precautious person when it comes to the safety of your pets. I always double check instructions and make sure the door or cage is secure before I leave. I also will give them all the love and attention they could want.
About: As a veterinary student, I bring a calm, knowledgeable, and detail oriented approach to every pet I care for. My background gives me a strong foundation in animal behavior, so I’m comfortable reading body language, recognizing stress signals, and creating a low stress, positive environment for pets of all personalities. I also have hands‑on experience with senior pet care, including medication administration, mobility support, and adapting routines to keep older pets comfortable and happy. I’m patient, gentle, and attentive to the small details that help pets feel safe and understood. I’m currently on summer break, which means my schedule is wide open and very flexible. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine, and I’m able to plan my day around your pet’s needs rather than the other way around. I’m available for morning, afternoon, and evening visits, and I make sure each visit is calm, unhurried, and focused entirely on your pet. Because I’m not in classes right now, I can offer consistent routines, extra attention, and plenty of time for enrichment, walks, or quiet companionship. Your pet gets reliable care, and you get peace of mind knowing they’re with someone who’s fully present and attentive. My background has trained me to read animal behavior and stress signals, so I always approach pets gently and at their comfort level. I follow your care instructions closely; feeding routines, medications, enrichment, litter box care, and any house rules you have. I double check doors, gates, and latches every visit to keep your pet secure. I also keep your home tidy, respect your space, and make sure everything is exactly as you left it. During visits, I prioritize low stress handling, clean water, safe play, and a calm environment. I pay attention to changes in appetite, behavior, or energy so I can update you right away. You’ll always get clear communication and detailed updates, because trust and transparency matter.
About: I've been helping care for animals for as long as I can remember! I have helped my family pet sit, volunteered at the animal shelter, and genuinely enjoy the company of animals. I am currently working as a freelance artist! Between gigs I have lots of flexible time to come take care of your pets. I am available for drop-ins/walks most days of the week, and I usually have some weekend availability! It's a priority of mine to establish trust with your animals! I am very keen on body language and other behavioral cues that allow me to meet your pets where they're at. If there are special instructions for an animal, I make sure to follow them to the letter.
About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life, and taking care of them is second nature. I see Rover as a way to interact & keep them in my life while not having one of my own at home. I already routinely take 1 to 2 walks during my day, so the addition dog walking or sitting fits rights into my daily schedule now. In your home, I am clean, orderly, and can clearly follow all instructions given. You will find your fur baby and your home better off than you left them before
“We booked Patrick to come for our advanced aged dog who had special food and medicine needs. He was wonderful and patient with her as she can be a cranky old lady 😄. He was prompt, stayed in contact with us and sent messages and photos of each visit. He even gave our kitty attention which is no easy task because he is a hard one to pet 😄😄 If you are looking for a responsible pet sitter, Patrick is your guy 👍🏻”

About: I am a life long dog lover, who will care for your loved ones as if they were my own. I have a way with dogs to make them feel at ease and happy. Currently my schedule is wide open. Feel free to reach out to me so we can setup a meet and greet! I am looking forward to getting to know you! My initial meeting will be to earn the trust of you and your dog. Nothing is more important. I want to let you know that your dogs safety and your comfort is my highest priority!

“Jacquelyn and Ryan arrived on time and immediately connected with my senior fur babies. They were gentle and kind to me (as I am recovering from surgery and can't do much yet) and to my dogs. I trusted them and look forward to using their services again soon!”
“Megan was absolutely wonderful!! She took great care of our dog while we were getting married! Our dog does not take to just anyone - but he took to her instantly! She’s reliable and passionate about dogs!! Frankie loves her!! 🤷🏼”

About: I’ve dog sat dogs for week long periods and love to do it. I have a dog of my own and am great with all animals. I’m very active and enjoy taking care of pets. I work part-time but my job is super flexible when I’m given a two week notice. I have a fairly busy daily schedule but never occupied for more than 6 hours at a time. Super easy going with whatever rules or specific needs a dog has whether it be walking or sitting. I’ve worked with many different situations and am comfortable with basically everything.
About: I've grown up with a yorkie (family dog). Within the last year I adopted a dog of my own. He's a black lab/australian shepherd mix who has become my best friend. He's unfortunately living with my parents for the summer which is why I'm hoping to hangout with some furry friends! As of now, I have not yet established a work schedule. I have more availability to care for pets during the day, but also willing to care for them at night depending on my schedule! I cannot care for pets at my house, but I am open to other options! I love going on walks and staying active! I would care for your furry friend the same as I would care for mine!
About: My family has had dogs since I was young. I also pet sit for friends and family while they are away on trips. I will care for your pets as if they are my own! I am a teacher so I am off during the summers. I do tutor but am happy to work with you to see what times will work best for us and your pets :) I am more than happy to play with your pets inside (and outside if able) your home, crate if necessary and take walks as needed.
About: I’ve always had a love for animals since I was a kid. I’ve taken care of dogs and cats as if they were my own. Family and friends have entrusted me to care for their pets and I’ve given my full attention to them and their needs from playing with high energy dogs to making sure cats are comfortable and safe depending on their mood. I am currently working full time during weekdays but am available after 5pm. I do get every other Friday off and am off weekends. I am available after work for walks or during my days off. Also, for boarding I am available on Fridays and weekends. I have a fenced yard and no kids in my household. That way your pet has all the space and attention I will give him/her. I will treat them as if they are my own and to make sure they are offered the best service, I will accommodate if needed and ask owners all the preferences their pets have.
“Sherry went above and beyond for my puppy! She agreed on very short notice to do a ton of drop-in visits for my very young puppy I had just gotten. Lots of TLC and great communication. Highly recommend!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Orland Hills
Megan is fantastic! I am so happy we found her here on Rover! We had Megan do drop in visits for a long weekend trip. We have two big dogs and two young cats. Megan came over a few days before we went out of town. When we met her she was so incredibly nice and our pets liked her immediately. You can tell she is an animal lover and very good with them. After going over the schedule we were felt very confident our babies were in good hands. Megan took great care of our crew. She sent pictures and very detailed updates of each visit. She played with them and pet them a lot at every visit. She walked the dogs daily. Our dogs are big and energetic so it was great they still got their daily walks. When we got home our babies were all happy to see us, but you could tell they were not desperate to see us like they have been in the past with other sitters. Our boxer pit-bull mix, Jack, can have horrible separation anxiety and you could see clearly he did not show signs of stress. My son also tends to get stressed and homesick leaving our pets. He worries about them. He loved seeing Megan’s pictures and all the details she left after each visit. He was really able to enjoy this trip, because he could see how happy they were when Megan visited them. I definitely recommend Megan and we will absolutely book her again.
Amanda was great. Larry got to go out and play and also got fed in a timely manner. I was able to go to see the Nascar race in Joliet while not having to worry about Larry being locked in the house. Perfect plan. This was my first experience with Rover. Worked out well.
I cannot recommend Michelle and Paul enough! I am a nurse and work long hours during the day. As us dog parents know, we love our babies and want the best care for them at all times. I was a little hesitant, as my Benny is a vocal little guy and thought he would turn Paul off. Michelle and I had a great conversation leading up to Paul’s playtime visits and she made me feel assured that Paul has “dog whisperer” qualities. It was fantastic seeing pictures from the visits and knowing that Benny was let outside and played with. Thank you, Michelle and Paul. Your care for Benny made me a huge fan of your services!

Marissa was amazing! I was nervous because this was our first time using Rover but as soon as I met Marissa I knew I had nothing to worry about and our fur babies would be well cared for. We had 4 drop in visits on one day and an early morning visit the next and Marissa always sent pictures and kept us updated. Our rottweiler plopped down in her lap the first time he met her and that says a lot! We will definitely use her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Orland Hills with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
