“Our dog loves coming over! She gets so excited in the car when she sees Joy. I also love getting photo updates from them, she’s always playing and well taken care of! 10/10 don’t even think twice, book now!”

“Rolanda was amazing! She was extremely nice throughout the entire process and helped me with any questions I had. She constantly kept me updated with pictures and it looked like my Bella had so much fun. From drop off to pick up she was just incredible and it was a really smooth process. Her communication is on point and she kept me comfortable throughout the process. Being that this was the first time I used this app I was nervous, but not anymore; I will definitely be using her again!”

“Desiree was amazing with our 4 year old terrier mix and high energy 5 month old puppy! We were nervous with our puppy who hadn’t been in boarding before, and she was great with keeping us posted on their behavior & sending daily pics/updates. Our dogs came home exhausted from having so much fun at their time away. She was also great with our 4 y.o. who preferred her personal space around the younger dogs there. We will absolutely use her again!”

“Kyla was the first stranger I’ve ever trusted to keep my Dylan and I am so glad I chose her! She took great care of him while I was away and he warmed up to her instantly. I am very appreciative and will be booking again in the future.”

“Thank you! I was so neevous to leave Goku with anyone because he is so big & you were able to handle him correctly! Also thank you so much for all the pictures and updates. It made me feel really comfortable. ?”

“This was my first time using Sharon and all went well. She sent photos and videos of Lily and took Lily on frequent walks. She was quick to respond to my texts. I really appreciate Sharon’s responsible and professional nature. And when I picked up Lily at the end of her stay, Sharon gifted her a bag of treats and toys and a thank you note! I will definitely use Sharon again.”
“Cassandra took great care of my dog Ace during his 4-day stay. I can tell he had a good time hanging out with her dog, Chewy. Cassandra was a pleasure to work with and I hope to use her services again for future boarding.”

“Ana and Byron were amazing! Our puppy Zoey had the absolute best time. She stayed with them for 6 days - in which she was treated extremely well! Ana and Byron made sure to update us constantly throughout the day, and ensured her safety and care at all times! They are very kind, communicative, and heartwarming people. I highly recommend Ana and Byron to anyone who is in need of caring, loving doggysitters! Zoey will be happy to return!”

“Christie and her husband are so wonderful with our golden doodle Nola. Nola loves to go over to stay with them. Christie is so easy to work with and I could not have found better caregivers for my precious pet.”

“This was the first time we used Rover and we couldn't be happier. Matt was great with our 4 year old German Shepherd. He gave her plenty of attention and played ball with her. He sent me pictures and videos everyday. She stayed there for 7 nights and when we picked her up, she was excited to see us but was not trying to leave. She felt at home there and very well cared for. I am more than pleased.”

“Our husky got taken care of for a couple of days. We got daily updates and adorable pictures!!! He was actually pretty sad coming home since he really loved playing with the other dog that was there. We are planning to book here whenever we have a trip!”

“This was our puppy’s first time being away from us and Connie helped it go smoothly! She was great at sending a couple pictures while we were away, and when we picked him up, he was clearly very happy and comfortable in her home. She’s warm and welcoming.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Midlothian
Bleu loves Iman and I feel 100% comfortable leaving him with her. She is a wonderful sitter. We ran into a minor scheduling issue a couple of weeks ago on my end, and honestly things have felt just a little distant at drop-off & pick-up since then. However, her care for my dog is top-tier, and I plan to use her again in the future.

Danny was awesome. The person that was going to watch my dog for a week canceled two days before my trip and I had very little options. He was willing to do it very last minute. He provided me with lots of pictures and updates and always answered any questions I had throughout the week. I loved that he had a yard for her to play in, and she had plenty of company between him and his family so I knew she wasn’t lonely. On Christmas his family got her treats and toys and he treats them as one of his own. He helped me bring her bags in and out of the car and was very nice and courteous. Super close to home and I tend to worry a lot and I felt very comfortable leaving here there for the week. No issues at all, would definitely reach out to Danny again for my doggy boarding needs.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
