“So great! They took such great care of my dogs and made them so comfortable in a loving wonderful home. They eased my mind so much knowing my dogs were in such good hands. Will be booking again!”

“A true life saver! We attempted to keep our dog at a pet friendly hotel while we went to a concert, but Noodle decided she was going to let the hotel guests know how much she missed us by barking. We thought for sure we'd have to listen to the concert from the parking lot or just not go all together. Kathy responded very quickly, super nice and accommodating . Thank you again!”

“Sheree is an amazing dog sitter. I was in a bind because I needed someone to take care of my mom's dog while she was in the hospital. I found Sheree and she was a life saver. She kept me updated daily with messages and photos of how my mom's dog was doing. She did an amazing job of taking care of him. My family will definitely be using Sheree again. I cannot thank her enough”

“We are first time pet owners and this was our first time leaving our new pup Leo. Kendra was wonderful. We exchanged a number of messages prior to our stay so she could get to know Leo and so that I would know what to expect. And, she sent several pictures and updates throughout his stay as well. I was so pleased, I plan to leave Leo with Kendra again.”

About: I was the neighborhood baby/dog sitter for most of my teens and even now I do the occasional dog sitting for a week or so for family friends. I have taken care of dogs ranging from Chihuahuas to Great Danes. I recently started fostering kittens and have a newfound love for those little guys too! I’ve owned bunnies and hamsters, watched a snake, taken care of a bird. You name it I’m sure I’ve had some sort of experience with it! I’d be so happy to take care of your critter too <3 I work from home! Rest assured your little buddy will get lots of attention in my care. If they have a more strict letting out schedule that’s absolutely no problem! I have a small mix dog, with two friendly cats. I work from home and can spend more time than the average person with your pet. I have a non fenced in yard, but am happy to take out on walks or on their leash in my yard.
“People in the Lincolnway/Tinley Park area, these are a great couple who love dogs. Big yard, friendly dogs to pal around with your dog, assurance by video. Will use again. Lucy gives five tail wags”

About: I’m fortunate to have experience with a wide variety of animals thanks to my cousins, who have two cats, three dogs, a turtle, and a horse. I help care for their pets regularly, so I’m comfortable meeting the unique needs of animals of all kinds and treating each one like family. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I’m currently finishing up breast cancer treatment and have intentionally chosen pet sitting as my primary work. This gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I truly enjoy spending time with animals, and being able to provide reliable, loving care while I’m in this season of life has been incredibly rewarding. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent as possible. At my home, pets have access to a securely fenced backyard for supervised play, exercise, and potty breaks, along with plenty of attention, affection, and a comfortable place to relax. In a client’s home, I follow their pet’s established schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and any other care instructions. My goal is always to help pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away.
“Danielle does a really wonderful job. She is so responsive, sends frequent pics and updates and is just a pleasure! We are happy we found her to watch our sweet pup while we are out of town!”

“Shani responded quickly to take a last minute long term booking. She was very communicative & hands on with Malcolm. Felt very comfortable leaving my baby while out of the country.”

“Thank you! I was so neevous to leave Goku with anyone because he is so big & you were able to handle him correctly! Also thank you so much for all the pictures and updates. It made me feel really comfortable. ?”

“It was the first time using this site. I have never left Izzy with anyone before, but I was going away for a long weekend. I was so nervous to leave her and she cried when I dropped her off, but I knew she’d get over it because there were other dogs there and she loves to play. Desiree was awesome. Send pictures every day and videos which made me feel ease on my vacation. I would definitely recommend her. She has a wonderful set up and is wonderful with the dogs that she cares for. I will be calling her again when I go away.”

“Megan was so sweet!. This was the first time we needed to board our baby for a few days. Megan eased our worries. She was in contact with us throughout the day. She sent lots of pics of our baby. Definitely will be a return customer!”

“Leaving our senior and high maintenance English Bulldog with Kim was a great experience! Kim was very open to answering any and all questions within an extremely timely manner. She took care of our dog, including medication management, without any issues. She updated us regularly, including pictures, to ease our minds about the happenings of our beloved pet. Thanks for everything, Kim!”

“They were awesome they kept me updated with my Charlie , he looked as if he had a very nice time with them, I would definitely recommend and be in touch with them very soon”

“Christie was wonderful ! She watched my dog while I went out of town and always kept me updated, sent me pictures of their activities, and always informed me of his stay. I’ll definitely be booking with her again whenever I go out of town again.”

About: From an early age I have always had a pet at home, we got Peewee 4 yrs ago, recently we adopted 2 more, their family couldn’t take care of them anymore. Toby 8yrs old and Sebastian 10yr all 3 of them are loving and get along great.. We care for your pets as if they were our own. I work from home remotely so your dog will have me at home all the time. When your dog stays home with me, I will take them in daily walks 2-3 times a day. In the day time I walk them two times 2-4hrs apart and evening, I will walk them 1 more times 2-3 hours apart. I strive to recognize those and meet them through patience, loving interaction. After our meet and greet, I like to get well acquainted with your pet and make sure they are comfortable with me. Once I’m aware of their routines, needs, we are good to go! Constant communication, you will receive regular updates, including photos, videos, so Can rest assured that your companion is receiving top notch care and attention.
“Our Daisy had a great time at her overnight with Bridget. Bridget was great to work with, excellent communication and sent lots of pics/videos. Definitely recommend.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hazel Crest
Jennifer and her family make us very comfortable in leaving our leo with them. I love the way her children love on him. I have no worries when we are out of town. It feels as if I left him with a family member. Also she sends us several daily updates. Grateful we found her.

We're so glad we got Rachel to keep Winston. we've tried contacting her last summer but the timing wasn't right. When we finally did, we knew she was good. Winston really enjoyed himself and he looked like he was at home from the photos. We've felt so comfortable and happy from the contacts we've received from Rachel. Thanks again Rachel, you're a superstar.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
