About: I've been an animal person my entire life. I grew up helping pet-sit the neighborhood dogs, and my family loved a rescue German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix from the time I was 10 (she was 2) until she was 15 - she watched us grow up and even visited my college house. As an adult, my heart belonged to January, a border collie/American Staffordshire terrier mix I brought home in my late 20s after seeing her story on the news. She was an energetic, clever puppy who taught me patience, consistency, and the value of positive training. We had 13 wonderful years together before she passed in November 2025. Losing January left a hole in my routine and my heart, and i'm not quite ready to adopt again - but i've found real joy and healing in caring for other people's pets. I've recently house-sat and hosted dogs, cats, and birds for friends and family, from puppies and kittens to seniors on medications with special needs. That experience, plus a gentle nudge from the people who suggested Rover, is what brings me here. I've used the same trusted vet since I was a kid and know the ropes - comfortable administering medication, contacting the vet, or getting emergency care if needed. Your pet will be loved, watched closely, and cared for like one of my own. I work a hybrid schedule: two days at home (typically Monday and Friday) and three 8-hour days in an Avon Lake office (Tuesday-Thursday). My schedule is flexible and easy to swap these days. I can use my noon lunch break for midday walks, potty breaks, and playtime if you're within 5-10 miles of my location. I’m available in the evenings after work for walks, feeding & visits. I'm also happy to water plants, bring in mail, and handle other small house-sitting tasks. I live in a cozy Lakewood duplex on the first floor with a front yard and porch my dog loved to lounge on (yard stake leash available for safe outdoor time). I already have bowls, beds, leashes, and other supplies, so your pup won't need to travel with a pile of gear. I can board up to two dogs at a time -any size, any friendly mix - but I don't board cats in my home (happy to care for them at yours).
“Rosie had a wonderful time at Abby’s house. We got updates throughout the week on how she was doing. She normally takes a day or two to fall back into her routines after we drop her off - not so with Abby! And we decided to pick her up a day earlier than planned, and Abby helped us out by dropping her off. Looking forward to using Abby’s services again!”
“Aspen was great! She sent so many pictures and updates and even took Koda on a trip to an orchard. This was a great experience and Koda had a great weekend.”

“Lana did a great job looking after my dogs for the long weekend! She sent photos and kept me up to date with how they were doing. One of my dogs needs medication twice a dog which was administered. There is a lot of space on her property for playing and my dogs had lots of fun!”

“Keeley and her Family were AWESOME. Dottie came home healthy and happy, although she did miss her Mom lol. It was easy drop off and pick up. This is the first time I have EVER boarded any of my animals and was quite nervous but totally felt at ease and this much appreciated! Would definitely recommend.”

“Extremely grateful to Tori! I needed someone to take care of my Bailey at the last minute due to an emergency, and she was available right away. She took amazing care of my baby and sent me lots of pictures throughout the stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. Tori is awesome! I 100% recommended!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Angel is my go to sitter for my cat. She is quick in responses when answering questions and is always providing updates to give that reassurance that my cat is doing well. I would recommend her for anyone looking to leave their pet with a trust worthy sitter.”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with experience caring for both cats and dogs. I grew up around cats and have been a dog owner myself for the past 5 years, in addition to regularly caring for friends’ dogs. I work a 9–5 job from home, which means your pet gets plenty of company throughout the day rather than being left alone for hours. I’m also able to take dogs on an extended walk during my lunch break, so they can get some exercise, fresh air, and attention in the middle of the day. Whether your pet needs a long walk, some playtime, a cozy companion while you’re away, or just a little extra TLC, I’ll treat them like they’re my own. I’m dependable, attentive, and happy to follow your pet’s normal routine and preferences. Most importantly, I know how much trust it takes to leave your pets in someone else’s care. My goal is to make sure both you and your pet feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for! My weekly routine is pretty consistent, which is great for dogs who love having a predictable schedule! Every workday I start each morning with a trip to the gym, then come home and take the pups on a nice, extended walk through the Metroparks near my house. Once we’re home, I settle into work for a few hours while the dogs get some downtime. I have a fenced-in yard, so I like to let them out regularly throughout the morning to stretch their legs, sniff around, and get some fresh air. Lunchtime means another extended walk! It’s a great way to break up the workday and give everyone a chance to burn off some energy. Afterward, my own dog usually settles in for a well-earned afternoon nap while I finish up work. Once the workday wraps up, we usually head outside for one more walk before settling in for the evening. If everyone’s feeling a little less energetic, we’ll skip the walk and have some backyard fun instead, such as fetch, tug-of-war, or just general goofing around. Basically, your pup can expect plenty of exercise, fresh air, playtime, and company throughout the day, with lots of opportunities to relax and recharge too. As a dog owner myself, I know how important it is to feel confident that your dog is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. My goal is to provide a comfortable, low-stress home environment where pups can feel like part of the family. I have a fully fenced yard where dogs can safely get outside for fresh air and playtime, along with plenty of opportunities for walks and exercise throughout the day. Since I work from home, I’m also around to keep an eye on things and make sure everyone is doing well. For daycare and boarding, I’m happy to follow your dog’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, walks, crate time, and any other preferences or house rules you provide. I’ll also make sure dogs have time to relax and nap when they need a break from all the excitement. When introducing dogs to my home, I prioritize compatibility and a gradual introduction so everyone feels comfortable. I want every pup staying with me to feel safe, supervised, and genuinely at home, not like they’re being dropped off somewhere unfamiliar.
“Maria took such great care of our elderly Boston Terrier!! He instantly felt comfortable and at home in her care and she even got him to eat each day which is a small miracle for him. Her communication was fantastic and she was very easy to work with. We’re so happy to have found her. Highly recommend!”

“They run to see Miss Pamela and Marshall when I drop them off. This lets me know that they enjoy their time there. She is great about giving updates and I am happy with their services.”

“Eric and Polly are fantastic! They are so caring and Colby loves spending time there! We can go on vacation knowing that he feels at home and that he is in a safe and loving environment.”

“James was awesome! I went out of town for four days and he took great care of Remi and kept me updated with pictures. He has a cute black lab mix as well who is super friendly! Remi had a great stay and was exhausted coming home. I would highly recommend James for your Rover needs!”

“Without delving into many details, I was left in a panic when my plans for aspen were cancelled on my way to the airport. Katherine so graciously agreed to watch aspen on such short notice. She was so kind with aspen and sent frequent photos of aspen. I would absolutely recommend Katherine to anyone!”

“I recently booked Kate on Rover.com to watch my dog, Herbie, and she was absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, Herbie felt right at home with her. Kate clearly has a natural way with dogs, providing so much love and attention that Herbie didn’t even want to come home with me at the end of his stay! Kate kept me updated with plenty of messages and photos, so I always felt reassured that Herbie was happy, safe, and well cared for. It’s rare to find someone who treats your pup like their own, but Kate truly goes above and beyond. I wholeheartedly give her 5 out of 5 stars and will definitely be booking with her again. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dedicated”

Obie loved her stay with Aspen! Especially hanging out with her new friend Clifford — the sweetest most gentle pup. Aspen sent photos and updates throughout the day which we so appreciated. We needed to extend Obie’s stay last minute and we were so grateful she was able to accommodate. Aspen was very easy to communicate with and we know she took the best care of her. Obie will definitely be back!

Extremely grateful to Tori! I needed someone to take care of my Bailey at the last minute due to an emergency, and she was available right away. She took amazing care of my baby and sent me lots of pictures throughout the stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. Tori is awesome! I 100% recommended!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I never have to worry about my dog when she is with Kimberly. She’s great about sending pictures and videos so that I can see how my dog is doing. My dog has never looked stressed in any of the pictures at Kimberly’s, and that is unusual for my tender hearted dog! I will continue using Kimberly as long as she’s available!!

Jessica was wonderful watching our dog Alfie! We met prior to make sure she and her dog would be comfortable with him. She’s very flexible and accommodating with timing and was so great with sending updates and pictures while we were gone. I would highly recommend her, she’s very caring and responsible! :)

I had a wonderful experience with this sitter! She took great care of Morty and Archie while I was away and made sure all of their needs were met. She kept me updated throughout their stay with plenty of photos and videos, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear that she genuinely cared about them and treated them like her own. Both dogs came home happy, healthy, and well cared for. I would absolutely trust her with my pets again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!

This was my first time using Rover or even boarding my dog with someone who wasn’t a family member. Needless to say, I was pretty nervous about it and when I dropped my dog off, she was so worried and upset. But Hannah was a pro. She never made me feel like I was asking about my dog too much and alleviated any worries I had, always with a calm and understanding demeanor. Sent plenty of pics and updates and it wasn’t long before my dog warmed up to her. Thanks again Hannah!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
