“Victoria is awesome! Very patient and great with our puppy. Comes prepared with doggy bags, gloves and wipes for accidents. Will definitely book with her again!”

“Stephanie was great! She fed and gave my cat her medicine twice a day and was very responsive, always sent multiple pictures. She was easy to get in touch with. I would definitely use her again in the future”
“Jackie was absolutely amazing when it came to watching my boys for the week of Thanksgiving. It was my first time using Rover and I was initially very nervous and stressed. Jackie arranged a time for us to meet each other and the cats before my trip and go over their needs in person. She came every day as arranged and sent pics to keep me updated. She also brought in our mail which was so kind and helpful! Highly recommend and would happily have her watch my boys again in the future!”

“Ann and Kyle were amazing. They spent extra time with our senior dogs and took wonderful care of them! Other than checking on the camera to see what the dogs were doing, we never worried about them because Ann and Kyle were keeping us updated. We would definitely use their services again. We highly recommend them!”

About: I have a high-energy dog that has prepared me in all aspects of pet care! I am well-versed in on- and off-leash exercise and have plenty of ideas for indoor enrichment activities. Having raised my own dog from 6 weeks old, I’m familiar with all of the accidents that can happen when pets are home alone. I’ve also cared for elderly and medically-complex dogs. I work remotely during the school year and have summers off. My work is in pacific time, giving me plenty of time in the morning to take your pet on a walk, play outside, or just keep them company. Of course, when I’m off in the summer, I have all the time in the world to spend with your pets! I am open to the safety, trust, and environment guidelines set by each pet owner. As the owner of a needy dog, I understand that each family has different preferences for keeping their home and pets safe!

About: I've been caring for other people's dogs and cats for most of my life. At home I coparent a dog named Rooster, a wild chihuahua/terrier mix, and cat named Boki, a treat-obsessed Russian Blue. It's never boring. Earlier in my life I volunteered at Charlotte Animal Care and Control, where I walked, socialized, and cared for shelter dogs. It shaped how I think about animals: every pet has its own personality, its own needs, and its own way of communicating. It's on the human to pay attention and meet them there. That's still how I operate. Some pets want active play; some want a quiet, calm presence. I let them lead and give each animal the specific attention they actually want, not a one-size-fits-all approach. I believe all pets are good pets. I work full time, so weekday availability starts around 5pm. Weekends are where I have the most flexibility — I'm available for walks, drop-ins, and overnight sits on most weekends. If your pet needs someone during evening hours or over a weekend, that's my sweet spot. I come to you, which means your pet stays in their own home, with their own smells, their own routine, and their own hiding spots. No adjustment period, no unfamiliar environment to stress them out. When I'm with your pet, I follow your lead — feeding schedules, walking routes, medications, quirks, all of it. I'll ask the right questions before you leave so nothing gets missed. You can expect updates while you're gone.
About: I’ve had pets since I was young and love taking dogs for walks, being affectionate with cats, and also meet your pet at their level and their energy! I work part-time as an in-home tech consultant, so my schedule is very flexible and I’m available for mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnight! I’m also available for extended sittings if needed (: I will always communicate and make sure I’m meeting your pet’s needs. I love sharing their activities with them (staring out the window, playing on the ground, talking to each other) and am always looking out for their comfort and safety (:
“Sam was a wonderful kitty care taker!! She was super communicative, sent great updates and photos, and I felt comfortable knowing my kitties were in great hands. Will rebook!”

About: I may be a cat dad now, but my house growing up was always filled with both barks and purrs. Once I was strong enough to hold back the leash, I was walking our sheep dog. I still enjoy taking family pets for walks when I visit. And in this cold, who doesn't need some motivation to walk? So I thought I might try to help you while working on my zeal for pup pets. My schedule is currently flexible, and so are my hours and availability. Creating time for bookings and keeping a schedule for your pet would be a priority. I treat your pet like I treat my own, but probably gentler! I take time for brushing, treats, pets, litter care, fresh water, and whatever you suggest would help them feel calm with a new person around. I'm also a photographer and know the value of a reassuring photo when away. I can drive to you, offering some peace of mind in case of emergencies.
“Peyton was very sweet with my cat, Sugar. She followed my instructions for her care and made sure that Sugar was safe and sound before leaving. I would definitely trust Peyton to take care of Sugar again.”

“Wow, I can't say enough great things about Jessica. Jessica absolutely saved the day while we were traveling abroad and had last-minute issues with another sitter. We were really worried about our pets and Jessica was able to check in immediately on our two cats to make sure everything was okay. Knowing she was there to take care of our two fur babies gave us great peace of mind while traveling and we'll definitely be reaching out again in the future for her help. :)”

“Sydney and James are great with their care with Kiwi - they fed him according to my guidelines and also brushed him. They played with kiwi during their visits and enjoyed their time together. I will recommend them to anyone!”

“Erin is the best! She knows just how to handle our dog with a big personality and they have become such good friends. She has gone above and beyond each time she drops in on him making sure he is fed and walked. We are so happy we found her!”

About: Hello! I recently moved to CLE for a full-time role post grad. With the travel requirements needed for work I don’t have time for my own pet so would love to be able to provide services for a range of different dogs and cats. I have ownership experience with both large dogs (labradors) and smaller dogs (miniature dachshunds) as well as cats. I grew up on a family farm so I have experience looking after a multitude of different types of animals as well. I am available to walk dogs or to come over and care for an animal when the owner is away as well. I promise to provide excellent care for your animal(s) and professional service too. Taking care of animals is truly a passion of mind and I would love to take care of yours! Currently working full-time so my availability is mostly on weekends. I work from home on Monday and Fridays so could potentially walk or care for animals during those two days as well. I live in an apartment and watch smaller animals at my place from time to time. Also able to go to clients’ homes and watch/walk animals at their place. I currently dog sit for two neighbors in my apartment building and would love to watch even more animals.

“Chloe was easy to communicate with and shared lots of love with my cats. Likewise, living downtown is tricky to work out parking and she was more than willing to work around that. She also has unbeatable rates, tip her well!”

Jackie is amazing! She takes such great care of my cats, spends extra time with them, sends lots of photos and updates, and even brings in my packages while I’m away. I always have complete peace of mind knowing they’re in such caring hands. I couldn’t recommend her more highly!

Sydney and James were fantastic! We couldn’t have asked for better! They took such great care of our Teddy, and really took our worries away with traveling. Above and beyond service, they definitely treated our little guy like their own. Will definitely be contacting them again!

Torrey was the best! We have to keep our kitties separated and she was very understanding of that and made us feel comfortable while on vacation. We got lots of photos (which we loved!) and she was very quick to respond/ communicate. This was my first time using Rover and I will definitely try to book Torrey the next time it is needed.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ohio City. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
