“I've been having Kristi watch my cat for the past year and a half, and she is unfailingly responsive, reliable, and patient with my quirky senior cat. I'm thrilled to have found her.”

About: I grew up with both cats and dogs and have been pet sitting since I was a teenager. Over the years, I’ve cared for pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities, including rescue dogs with specific behavioral, medical, and emotional needs. As a dog owner myself, I understand the importance of trustworthy, compassionate care and treat every pet as if they were my own I work a full-time job during the week, but I’m available for pet care on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and weekends. I do my best to keep my schedule updated and communicate clearly to ensure the best care. I have experience introducing and caring for pets around other animals and can adapt in most situations. I provide a safe, loving, and attentive environment
“Melissa was wonderful with our older cat Agnes. She was punctual and professional but made me feel like I was leaving my cat in the care of a friend or family member. So thankful!”

“Stephanie was great! She fed and gave my cat her medicine twice a day and was very responsive, always sent multiple pictures. She was easy to get in touch with. I would definitely use her again in the future”
“James was fantastic with our cats. He had thoughtful questions prior to us being away, and was really communicative during our time away. He went above and beyond when we had a sensor issue with our Simplisafe alarm system.”

About: I've been an animal person my entire life. I grew up helping pet-sit the neighborhood dogs, and my family loved a rescue German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix from the time I was 10 (she was 2) until she was 15 - she watched us grow up and even visited my college house. As an adult, my heart belonged to January, a border collie/American Staffordshire terrier mix I brought home in my late 20s after seeing her story on the news. She was an energetic, clever puppy who taught me patience, consistency, and the value of positive training. We had 13 wonderful years together before she passed in November 2025. Losing January left a hole in my routine and my heart, and i'm not quite ready to adopt again - but i've found real joy and healing in caring for other people's pets. I've recently house-sat and hosted dogs, cats, and birds for friends and family, from puppies and kittens to seniors on medications with special needs. That experience, plus a gentle nudge from the people who suggested Rover, is what brings me here. I've used the same trusted vet since I was a kid and know the ropes - comfortable administering medication, contacting the vet, or getting emergency care if needed. Your pet will be loved, watched closely, and cared for like one of my own. I work a hybrid schedule: two days at home (typically Monday and Friday) and three 8-hour days in an Avon Lake office (Tuesday-Thursday). My schedule is flexible and easy to swap these days. I can use my noon lunch break for midday walks, potty breaks, and playtime if you're within 5-10 miles of my location. I’m available in the evenings after work for walks, feeding & visits. I'm also happy to water plants, bring in mail, and handle other small house-sitting tasks. I live in a cozy Lakewood duplex on the first floor with a front yard and porch my dog loved to lounge on (yard stake leash available for safe outdoor time). I already have bowls, beds, leashes, and other supplies, so your pup won't need to travel with a pile of gear. I can board up to two dogs at a time -any size, any friendly mix - but I don't board cats in my home (happy to care for them at yours).
“Colleen was amazing, very attentive and took the cutest pictures. She was able to squeeze me in during the holidays which was a great help. I would definitely rebook with her, thank you Colleen!”

About: I've loved cats my whole life! I have three cats of my own, and have fostered almost a hundred cats through the Cleveland APL. I have experience with all ages and temperaments, from friendly kittens to shy adults. I am able to tell when a cat wants attention, and work with cats who need a little bit more space to feel confident. I am able to give pills, eyedrops, and other medications to cats as needed. I can recognize changes in behaviors and alert pet owners when something seems concerning. My experience doesn't end with cats! I've owned rats, mice and hamsters and understand the importance of having someone experienced with small animals to watch them. Your small pets will receive the same high quality of care. I'm a remote worker so I have plenty of time for drop in visits as needed! My schedule is flexible, and I want to make sure your pets are as comfortable as possible. I'm excited to care for your pets in your home. I am very careful around doors to the home, as I know how quickly pets can escape. I will follow your instructions closely to keep their daily routine as close to normal as possible.
About: I've been a business professional for decades. I have had pets my entire life, until recently. I have passed FBI background, Special Olympics background checks and also here. Your house will be safe. I work remotely and love animals. It's really that simple. I work remote in finance. I miss my own pets. This gives me the opportunity to get some much needed animal kisses. I've never met a dog that didn't love me. Happy to care for your pets in your home. Does your dog need crated? How about a good long walk to make them feel better.
About: I’ve been an animal lover all my life! I’ve been the mother to many cats over the last 2 decades. As well as 2 dogs. I did a lot of dog training with my dogs. I’m also a mom and photographer. I’m currently looking to fill my days with long walks and playful animals while I’m on the hunt for permanent employment. I love to walk and would love to get to know your pup! I would definitely like to have a meet and greet with you and your pup before any walking or sitting. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I currently have an open schedule but that may change in the future. Looking forward to meeting you!! I am currently working full-time and am using Rover to supplement my income. I am available before and after work for your furry family member I prefer to watch your pet in your home. I currently have 2 dogs and 3 cats that are very settled in their own ways. I am willing to make exceptions upon a meet-n-greet
“This was my first time using Rover, and Justine was great! Made the time to come over before we left to meet our cat and get a rundown of her needs. She kept us updated on Mac the whole time we were gone with great info and pics! As a cat mom who worries, Justine made me able to enjoy my time away, knowing my cat was in great hands!”

“Megan is always so wonderful with our two cats - they absolutely love her, and we know they are in great hands whenever we’re away! Megan’s communication is also amazing and gives us so much peace of mind. We don’t know what we’d do without her!”

“Alexandrea was wonderful with my cat while I was out of town. She kept her well fed and played with her each day. I received several photos each day of my cat happily playing and cuddling with Alexandrea which helped put my mind at ease. I'd use Alexandrea again for future cat sitting services.”
“Amanda is amazing and sweet. She helps us so much with our puppy, giving us a little break to do house things or giving him a walk when we're away. Makkachin always loves seeing her each time. 7/5 stars.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Lakewood
My partner and I just returned from a long weekend, and it was the first time ever leaving our little 13.5 yr old girl with anyone but very close friends. Stephanie and Michelle not only put my mind at ease during the initial meet-n-greet; I received daily updates, with photos. I cannot stress enough the anxiety I felt leading up to the trip. I needn’t have worried. I will book Stephanie and Michelle every time. Highly recommend.

She was great my cat that just had dental surgery. It was the first time we have left him since bringing him in three months ago. She kept me up to-date and even called me to let me know we had a water leak. I would 100 percent recommend to anyone looking for a sitter and will definitely be using again. Julius was comfortable and enjoyed his visits
Bethany watched my new kittens while I was on a weekend trip and I couldn't be happier! She sent me updates and pictures everyday which I loved. This was my first time using Rover and it was a great experience. I will use Bethany again next time I need extra help with the kitties. Thank you!

Mitchell is a fantastic sitter and was absolutely amazing with my cat while I was out of town for a few days. I received updates every day of the two of them playing and having fun together. Mitchell is very attentative and goes above and beyond to make sure all of your care instructions are followed. I'll always consider Mitchell for pet sitting with future trips.

Lexie was fantastic with daily check ins for my sweet cat while we were away for almost two weeks. She gave her a lot of loves, playtime, and special treats, sending me lots of pics each time so I got to stay updated on her happenings. I’ll definitely rebook in the future and highly recommend!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lakewood. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
